“Everyone, get yourselves together! The Yuan Family never supports idlers!”

“The path of Cultivation is incredibly difficult. If you cannot even overcome getting up early, what great achievements will you ever accomplish?”

“I’m talking about you, Yuan Wu! You again! You doze off during morning practice every time. What? Were you out stealing chickens and dogs in the middle of the night?” The Patriarch of the Yuan family stood on high ground. Seeing someone completely out of place among the upright crowd, with her head nearly buried in the ground, he flew into a rage.Full novel: After Refusing to Grind, I Opened a Farm in the Cultivation World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yuan Wu yawned, lazily stretched, and immediately began spouting nonsense. “Sorry about that. I was cultivating until midnight last night and got tired.”

In reality, Yuan Wu had stayed up in the dark reading Storybooks until dawn.

The Patriarch of the Yuan family naturally did not believe that this unbelievably lazy girl had done what she claimed, but when he looked at Yuan Wu’s Cultivation, which was clearly far beyond everyone else’s, he swallowed the words he wanted to say... Damn gifted brat!

Yuan Wu had originally been a university student in the twenty-first century. Normally, she was either lying down or sprawled out, and she was the kind of lazy person who made both gods and humans furious. She loved reading novels, slacking off, and playing QQ Farm. Her dream was to open a Farm of her own, live a leisurely life, and then wait to die.

A young person had somehow ended up living the life of an old woman.

Because she stayed up in the middle of the night reading novels, she died suddenly.

Her soul was sucked into her phone, and she was reborn in the Cultivation novel she had been following as an embryo, eventually coming into the world.

When she was first born, it was said that strange phenomena filled the sky and all the beasts paid homage.

However, Yuan Wu felt it was purely the Yuan Family bragging to suppress the neighboring Bai Family. The Bai Family and the Yuan Family were bitter rivals. Coincidentally, the Bai Family’s Direct Daughter had been born the year before Yuan Wu, attracting a hundred birds to pay homage to the phoenix. The common people all said that the Bai Family was destined to rise, crush the Yuan Family, and become Wood City’s foremost clan.

This infuriated the Yuan Family, so when Yuan Wu was born, they created all kinds of flashy spectacles and exaggerated them beyond belief, proclaiming Yuan Wu a once-in-a-thousand-years genius. In the end, there was a dramatic reversal, and the words in the common people’s mouths became: the Yuan Family would leave the Bai Family several streets behind and was Wood City’s foremost clan.

In the grand competition of boasting, the Yuan Family was unquestionably number one.

Since they had praised Yuan Wu far too highly, the Yuan Family felt guilty. During the days when spiritual roots were tested, they became unusually quiet.

When the Bai Family was found to possess a Mutated Ice Spirit Root, the Yuan Family entered a slump and stopped boasting.

Fortunately, Yuan Wu’s talent really was excellent. She was found to possess the rare Heaven-grade Wood Spiritual Root, one in ten thousand, which was just a tiny bit stronger than the neighboring Bai Family’s Mutated Ice Spiritual Root.

This made the Yuan Family’s tails shoot back up into the heavens. Every day, they ran to the Bai Family’s gate to show off, adding some insincere sweetness. “Oh my, it’s only a Heaven-grade Wood Spiritual Root. It’s merely better than a Mutated Ice Spiritual Root by 🔵a billion🟦 little bits.”

“It’s all right. On the path of Cultivation, a spiritual root is important, but hard work matters more. Although your family’s spiritual root is inferior to ours, at least you work hard.”

Bai Family: Shameless to the extreme!

Actually, Yuan Han really wanted to tell the Patriarch of the Yuan family not to get so smug. The neighboring Bai Family’s child was the female protagonist, the existence known as Aotian. Fighting above her level and possessing Spirit Treasures of Heaven and Earth were merely basic operations for her.

How could a nobody like her compare with that? Yet they still forced her to cultivate from dawn till dusk every day.

Did they have any idea how cruel this was to a severe lazybones? She was so tiny that she could barely walk steadily, yet she carried a milk bottle while cultivating. Every day, she was woken at five in the morning. This was truly shortening Yuan Wu’s life.

If her strength had allowed it, Yuan Wu would have run away from home long ago.

Although Yuan Wu was incredibly lazy and only wanted to lie flat, her Cultivation was still far beyond that of her peers.

The main reason was that Yuan Wu had discovered a bug in absorbing spiritual energy. It was like permutations and combinations: she broke apart the original combination and formed a larger number, doubling the speed at which she absorbed spiritual energy while also making it sustainable. She could even absorb it while sleeping.

But that did not stop the Yuan Family and the Bai Family from competing against each other. The Yuan Family truly followed the principle of “As long as cultivation does not kill you, cultivate until it does.”

Can you imagine how Yuan Wu had spent these fifteen years?!

Morning training ended.

The Patriarch of the Yuan family pulled Yuan Wu into the clan hall, and the two of them quietly whispered together.

“Wu’er, although your talent is excellent, you cannot be this lazy. The Bai Family’s sixteen-year-old has already reached Foundation Establishment and has now gone out to travel. You...” The Patriarch of the Yuan family talked until his mouth was dry.

However, Yuan Wu’s attention was captured only by the words “go out to travel.”

She was finally willing to raise her noble head. “Dad, if I also reach Foundation Establishment, can I go out to travel too?”

“Hah, in the past thousand years, only the ascended Spirit King achieved Foundation Establishment at fifteen. The Spirit King was a renowned genius throughout Northern River and even the Five Rivers, an absolutely explosive existence. Are you one? Don’t think that being a heavenly spiritual root means you can lose your bearings. If you reach Foundation Establishment now, let alone letting you go out to travel—even if you said you were my dad, that would be fine.” The Patriarch of the Yuan family glared at Yuan Wu, bristling with rage.

“Hehe, that won’t be necessary. If you called me Dad, wouldn’t that mess up our generations?”

Yuan Wu grinned, immediately receiving a chestnut to the head. “Ow! Dad, I was only joking. Did you really have to hit me that hard?”

“You little brat, don’t give me that giggling nonsense.”

“Hehe, Dad, I’ll tell you a secret.” Yuan Wu sidled up to the Patriarch of the Yuan family with a sly grin, then suddenly broke through right there.

She successfully advanced to Foundation Establishment.

“What secret could you have? I know what kind of crap you’re going to pull the moment you stick out your butt, and what kind of nonsense you’re going to spout... Isn’t it just Foundation Establishment? Wait... you... you reached Foundation Establishment?” The Patriarch of the Yuan family was caught completely off guard. He turned toward the giggling Yuan Wu, eyes wide with shock!

Good heavens, his Yuan Family was about to soar!

“Hahahaha! Reaching Foundation Establishment at fifteen—this is absolutely explosive! I thank the ancestors of my Yuan Family! A genius, a genius! I, Yuan Fang, have fathered an excellent daughter!”

The Patriarch of the Yuan family threw his head back and laughed, then lifted his leg, intending to go show off to the neighboring Bai Family.

Seeing this, Yuan Wu hurriedly stopped him. “Dad, listen to me. Since ancient times, there have been so many geniuses, but how many of them actually grew up successfully? I only want to be a low-key genius. Don’t make too much noise. It’s enough for you to enjoy yourself secretly, and if necessary, bring Mom along. Just don’t go bragging everywhere.”

The Patriarch of the Yuan family thought about it and agreed. She was his only precious daughter; he could not let some schemer make her disappear.

He raised a hand and stroked the small mustache at the corners of his mouth. The Patriarch of the Yuan family tried to suppress his smile and look serious, but he found it impossible to keep the corners of his mouth down.

“Wu... hehe... Wu’er, cough, Dad understands. Didn’t you want to go out and travel?”

“Dad, you agree!?” Yuan Wu immediately became energetic at those words.

“No, Dad does not agree. What if someone harms you after you leave? You were right: there have been many geniuses since ancient times, but how many survive? So you should stay safely in Wood City. Remember to get up early for morning training starting tomorrow.” The Patriarch of the Yuan family chose to defeat magic with magic, using Yuan Wu’s own words to seal her mouth.

Hearing that she could not go out to travel and still had to get up early tomorrow, Yuan Wu clutched her head and wailed. “No, I don’t want to get up early! This damn rat race—whoever wants to compete can compete! I’m done with it! I want freedom of sleep! I’m running away from home!”

Before Running Away from Home could even begin, it was destroyed by the roar of a shrewish woman from behind the door.

“You little brat, if you dare run away from home, I’ll break your legs today!”

“Dad, I was only saying it. I’m not leaving, not leaving.” Yuan Wu hurriedly waved and shook her head toward the doorway, looking like a good little girl, as if the rebellious person from moments ago had not been her.

Only after Yuan Fang saw that she had truly settled down did he leave at an unhurried pace. Along the way, he reinforced the patrols throughout the Mansion Grounds, so that not even a bird could fly out.

“You little brat, behave yourself.”

“Mm-hmm, got it, Daddy.” Yuan Wu blinked repeatedly as she watched him leave.

But a rebel never compromises!

In the dead of night, Yuan Wu appeared at the corner of the wall dressed entirely in black and moving furtively. She carefully avoided the patrolling guards and felt her way to a dog hole.

She tossed her bundle aside and crawled through.

Freedom of sleep, here I come!

🟡Author’s note:

This is where you leave your brains. Don’t bring your brain when reading this novel.

Regarding some negative reviews, the author has had a mental breakdown.

The System is somewhat obnoxious in the early stages. If you dislike that, you do not have to keep reading. Also, the Electric Shock Punishment is only meant to scare the female protagonist...

The System will sabotage the female protagonist, but later on, it will take action when the female protagonist is in great danger.

As for whether this is a wish-fulfillment novel, I find writing it quite satisfying and very happy. The female protagonist has not encountered anything particularly humiliating either. At most, she is occasionally sabotaged by an unreliable, weak System. Overall, it is quite a satisfying novel, I suppose. She gets many good things, after all—she is my own beloved daughter.

This novel is simply a brainless, silly farming story with a group of young girls and boys having fun. If you want to read something logical, go read something logical.

I, the author, have no brain. Do not talk to me about logic.

It is a xuanhuan novel, after all...

Also, regarding some spirit stones, I cannot even remember everything myself, so there may be mistakes. Please be understanding. If you cannot be understanding, then goodbye.

As for readers’ opinions of the novel, I can accept them all and make corrections. But please do not nitpick. If you leave a negative review without having read much, I will be very sad. I only wrote this novel for fun in the first place...

The author has a mental illness and will go crazy!!!🟨
