Moving to Weinan was proposed by Liu Siyin, because Yin Man had said she could choose however she wanted. The reason it was Weinan was that Shen Si was in that residential area. Shen Si, her current husband, and her daughter lived in Weinan, and her stepfather worked as a doorman at a school not far from Weinan.
Actually, she had not dared hope that Yin Man would agree. She had already been to that residential area before. It was truly too old, nowhere near the living environment Yin Man had grown up in. But Yin Man not only agreed, she also asked her on the very first day after arriving whether she wanted to go see Shen Si.
She did miss Shen Si a little, but now she could no longer see Shen Si with her own eyes.
In fact, even after arriving at the Liu family, she had not seen Shen Si many times. Only when she was especially obedient would Liu Mei take her to see Shen Si, letting her watch from afar that harmonious and happy family of three. There was nothing wrong with that. At the very least, her mother was living well, and that was also why Liu Siyin had been able to single-mindedly seek death back then. In this world, she no longer had anything to worry about.
Her stepfather was a very good man. He did not dislike Shen Si’s eyes, he simply did not like her.
There was no way to demand that a man with no blood relation treat her as if she were his own daughter. At least back when they were still in that small town, he had never made things difficult for Liu Siyin.
Because there were stairs everywhere, and Yin Man’s legs were inconvenient, they simply bought a place on the first floor. The environment was not very good. Yin Zhe sent people over to carefully renovate it, but he still found it somewhat distasteful. “Manman, you should still change places.”
He had even thought before that if Yin Man moved out, he would move in next to Yin Man and just be neighbors with her. But the place Yin Man had chosen was too poor, and Yin Zhe did not like it.
Yin Man had spent a lot of effort persuading Yin Zhe to agree to let her move out. Since they were already here, she definitely would not leave.
“Not bad.” She did not intend to leave. Yin Zhe still had work to do, so after instructing Aunt He and Aunt Zhang to take good care of her, he went to the company. Actually, she felt that Yin Nanbai’s jealousy toward Yin Zhe was unreasonable. In terms of business sense, he could not even compare to the original host, let alone Yin Zhe. Yin Zhe was sharp and far-sighted, which was why the Yin family could keep getting better and better. If it really ended up in his hands, it was not certain it would be as good as it was now.
Yin Zhe had also not wronged him in the slightest when it came to money. Yin Nanbai’s obsession with speaking rights was really unnecessary.
If he were really made to be as busy as Yin Zhe, where would he still find the time to deal with all those flirtatious women, those crowds of beauties, and his many illegitimate sons and daughters?
The air in the new environment was truly good, and there was no need to face Wen Si’s mournful face as if she were attending a funeral.
Moving out before Yin Youxia was discharged from the hospital, she would be comfortable, and so would Yin Man. Why not?
“Ah!” Yin Man let out a long breath, sent Aunt Zhang and Aunt He to tidy up things, and sat in her wheelchair holding Liu Siyin’s hand, enjoying the bright sunlight. “I like this place.”
A not-so-small house, fresh air, bright sunlight, and a beautiful little wife, everything was perfect.
Liu Siyin said, “Sister Man, you do not need to comfort me.”
“Liu Siyin, I really think this place is good, comfortable!” She had lived in a house like this before, only back then there had been no Liu Siyin, only herself, keeping watch over an empty house all alone.
She had always longed for someone to keep her company, and now that she really had someone, she was truly happy, not pretending.
Yin Man’s life had been absent of a lot of companionship, so she especially longed for companionship.
Liu Siyin was the one who came to keep her company.
There were three rooms in the house, one for Aunt He and Aunt Zhang, one for her and Liu Siyin, and one cleaned up for Yin Zhe. In case he wanted to come stay with her for a short while, though the possibility was not great, Yin Zhe still disliked this place very much.
She really liked holding Liu Siyin’s hand. Soft, warm, just so comfortable to hold.
“Manman.” Following her hand, Liu Siyin groped little by little, forearm, elbow, shoulder, climbing upward bit by bit, as if there were a caterpillar wriggling across her skin. It was so itchy, so itchy that her whole body was trembling. “What are you doing?”
Liu Siyin finally found her neck, then groped up to her face. Yin Man’s face was already completely flushed red, frozen in place. She was a little shy, and could not help calling out to her. “Liu Siyin, what are you doing.”
“I’m almost forgetting what you look like.” Actually, she remembered. She just wanted to remember more firmly.
She really wanted to be able to look at Yin Man again, to look at the expression on her face, to see whether there was deep affection in her eyes. Unfortunately, she could not see it. Touch had become the only way she could come into contact with Yin Man.
Hearing Liu Siyin’s voice, Yin Man let out a sigh of relief. She had thought Liu Siyin wanted to do something.
It was broad daylight, under a clear sky, not good, not good.
Yin Man took Liu Siyin’s hand, touched her fingers, and led her fingers little by little to her hair, then said softly, “This is my hair, thick black hair.”
Then she moved downward little by little, until Liu Siyin touched her forehead. “This is the forehead.”
“This is the eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, ears…”
She actually held Liu Siyin’s hand and let her touch all over her own head.
Liu Siyin’s cheeks were faintly flushed. “Manman, your skin is really good.” This line sounded familiar. It seemed like something she had said in the hospital. Liu Siyin really was imitating her. Then should she also be a little more generous like Liu Siyin? Yin Man thought for a moment and said, “You can touch however you like, I do not mind.”
“Ah!” She had only answered casually, who could have guessed that Liu Siyin would really keep touching downward? Her fingers were long and slender, pale and thin, and her fingertips were cold, but when they landed on her chest, through the clothes she could still feel an unusual heat. Yin Man did not think at all and instinctively backed away. The wheelchair was not locked, and under the force it rolled backward. Aunt He quickly ran over and steadied the wheelchair. “Miss, be careful!”
Seeing Aunt He, Yin Man was even more devastated.
She covered her chest, her face red with embarrassment. Before she could even open her mouth, she shut it again. She could not exactly ask Aunt He whether she had just seen Liu Siyin touch her chest, could she?
That girl Liu Siyin looked so proper, so gentle and weak, how could she be so—
But it seemed like she was the one who had told Liu Siyin to touch however she liked.
Once she had steadied herself, she looked back at Liu Siyin. Liu Siyin was still sitting on the sofa, anxiously rubbing the hem of her clothes. “Manman, are you unhappy?”
Let her say it again, she had a very good temper.
Why did Liu Siyin worry every day that she was going to be angry?
Yin Man felt somewhat helpless. She signaled for Aunt He to push her back over and took Liu Siyin’s hand. “I’m not unhappy.”
“I won’t do it again.” Her voice was soft and weak, as if she were feeling wronged. Liu Siyin was probably thinking to herself why some people agreed to be touched, yet reacted so strongly after being touched once, too pretentious.
Yin Man squeezed her hand, quite helpless. “You can touch me, but this is broad daylight, right? At night, after we close the door, I’ll let you touch to your heart’s content!”
Yin Man said this with complete righteousness. As soon as she finished, she heard stifled laughter. Following the sound, Aunt He looked a little embarrassed and suppressed her smile. “Miss, you two keep talking.”
What was there to talk about, how was she supposed to talk by herself here?
Liu Siyin’s face was already red.
“Bang!” She was still annoyed that romance gave her so little freedom when a loud crash rang out, and some unknown object was thrown over. Yin Man had not yet reacted when she felt the wheelchair being suddenly yanked.
“Ah!” That thing hit Liu Siyin.
Aunt He had pushed her away from the sofa, but Liu Siyin could not see and could not dodge, so she was hit on the back just then. Yin Man was furious and shot Aunt He a glare, but she also understood that it was already good enough for Aunt He to have managed to push her away in time. There had simply been no time to take care of Liu Siyin.
But—
“Si Yin, Si Yin.” She was anxious and put a little force into her legs, but she directly fell out of the wheelchair.
Aunt Zhang was also startled out by the commotion outside. “What happened?”
She shook her head, signaling them not to call out, and only then was she helped up by Aunt He and pushed in front of Liu Siyin.
Liu Siyin seemed to have been frightened. She was still a little shaken, and looked somewhat dazed. Yin Man called out several times before Liu Siyin came back to herself, and, enduring the pain, said, “Manman, I’m fine.”
Liu Siyin’s features were twisted with pain, yet she still insisted she was fine. Yin Man said, “Aunt Zhang, go get the car. We’re going to the hospital.”
“I’m not going to the hospital.” Liu Siyin grabbed Yin Man, her resistance very obvious.
Aunt Zhang and Aunt He had both been assigned to look after the disabled Yin Man since she was little, and both had received special training. They also understood some medical knowledge. Since Liu Siyin was resisting so strongly, Yin Man had no choice but to have Aunt He take a look at Liu Siyin first.
The thing that had hit Liu Siyin was a soccer ball, shot through after breaking the glass. With such force, it did not look like an accident at all, but rather as if it had been deliberately kicked at their window. Yin Man looked outside and saw nothing, then looked at the soccer ball.
“Aunt Zhang, go see who kicked that ball.” On the very first day of moving in, she had been injured. No one would be in a good mood.
Aunt Zhang was sent out by her. Aunt He came out with the first-aid kit and pushed her wheelchair. “Miss, I have looked at Miss Liu. It is not very serious, just apply some medicine and it will be fine.”
Then apply it, then.
The words reached Yin Man’s lips, but once she entered the room, she saw Liu Siyin clutching her clothes, only a corner of her back exposed. She had told her to let Aunt He take a look, and she had only let her see a corner.
Yin Man could not say the words. Liu Siyin was injured on the back.
“Cough, Aunt He, go out.” She was not as professional as Aunt He, but this was her future wife’s back, and Liu Siyin also did not want others to see it.
Aunt He went out, and Liu Siyin no longer carefully tugged at her clothes. She very decisively took off the long robe.
That snow-white, smooth back now had a patch of redness and swelling on it, but this did not affect its beauty, nor did it affect Yin Man’s wandering gaze. That back seemed very smooth and delicate, that waist seemed very slender and alluring.
Liu Siyin did not need to be this generous, giving her so much to look at.
She steadied her mind and applied medicine for Liu Siyin. That large patch of red made one’s heart ache. “If it hurts, you have to say it.”
“I’m not hurting.” Liu Siyin was still stubborn with her. Yin Man applied medicine for Liu Siyin, and was even more afraid of pain than she was, as if one more touch and Liu Siyin would shatter, but Liu Siyin had not cried out even once from beginning to end.
“Si Yin, if it hurts, you can call out.” She probably understood that feeling of bearing all pain and suffering alone, because she had been like that before, because there had been no one to rely on.
But Liu Siyin was different now. She had her.
She still did not speak. Yin Man discovered another flaw of Liu Siyin, she was a taciturn gourd.
Yin Man put away the medicine box and, looking at the back covered in medicine, asked, “Why are you not going to the hospital?”
“Manman does not like Doctor Jiang.”
“Is there only one hospital under heaven?”
Liu Siyin lay by the bedside and stretched out her hand, and Yin Man handed her own hand over. Liu Siyin interlaced their fingers. “Manman, you are really good.”
It seemed she had been coaxed.
But what had she been unhappy about just now? She had not even known Liu Siyin had had emotions a moment earlier, but the contrast between before and after was too great, making it impossible not to notice.
Yin Man looked at Liu Siyin with a half-questioning gaze. Was she refusing to go to the hospital because she disliked Jiang Yan, or because she knew Jiang Yan had once tried to seduce the original host?
