The damp and hot kiss was both soft and sweet, gradually exciting the stimulated sensitive nerves and disrupting a pool of hazy dreams.
Unable to withstand it in her deep sleep, yet unable to dodge away either, Shen Wuqiu struggled to open her eyes in her groggy state.
In her hazy field of vision, the white jade-like face before her looked as though it had beauty filters applied, blurry and indistinct. Only those slightly upturned phoenix eyes were clear, especially those pupils which resembled stars embedded in the sky, shimmering with a layer of light.
Shen Wuqiu just watched like this. Her mind, currently assailed by sleepiness, was completely blank, and her consciousness seemed still submerged in slumber. She felt not a single shred of panic or wariness toward the person who had intruded into her view.
Clearly, the woman disturbing her peaceful sleep hadn’t expected her to wake up midway. Meeting those half-awake pupils, she couldn’t help freezing in place as well.
Amidst this increasingly bizarre, quiet atmosphere, just as the sober party was at a loss for what to do, the non-sober party suddenly smiled.
After laughing, Shen Wuqiu slowly closed her eyes again, murmuring under her breath. “So it looks like this.”
The sentence was muddled and unclear, making it difficult for the woman pressing down on her to make sense of it. It took a good several seconds before she reacted to what the other person had said.
“Looks like this” is like what?
Was she satisfied or unsatisfied in the end?
The woman touched her own face, staring at the sleeping Shen Wuqiu and falling into deep thought.
This woman certainly couldn’t be completely ignorant of this monarch’s beauty. She must have realized this monarch’s beauty, which was why she harbored malicious intentions toward her looks and forced this monarch to offer her body in marriage as a form of gratitude! Otherwise, she wouldn’t have passionately invited this monarch to seek pleasure on the very first night!
Based on all of the above, this woman was definitely extremely satisfied with this monarch’s beauty.
Pondering this, the woman regained full confidence, lowered her head, and used the tip of her tongue to flick open the final button of Shen Wuqiu’s pajamas.
The woman felt these pajamas were much too troublesome, with buttons so small and numerous that picking at them was a hassle. She decided to use her claws tomorrow to properly deal with this eyesore.
With her pajamas completely unbuttoned, her exposed chest and abdomen felt the chill, instinctively wanting to press closer to the heat source. With a roll over, she hugged the woman beside her tightly.
The humanoid body pillow in her arms was soft, fit her grip perfectly, and emitted a faint fragrance. In her sleep, Shen Wuqiu subconsciously buried her head to nuzzle against the most fragrant and softest spot, letting out a satisfied sigh of contentment as she rubbed.
So annoying.
What should she do?
This human partner was just too good at seducing people.
The woman stared at Shen Wuqiu, who was rubbing back and forth in her arms. Looking displeased, she lowered her head and planted a heavy smack on Shen Wuqiu’s face, muttering to herself. “This monarch has no choice but to kiss you.”
Another night of tender entanglement.
After waking up, Shen Wuqiu routinely reviewed the dream from the previous night, and then routinely lifted the quilt to inspect the clothes on her body.
Practice makes perfect; by the third time, aside from feeling baffled, she no longer felt all that terrified or difficult to accept.
Standing in front of the mirror, she stared at her unclothed body while her consciousness still wandered blissfully in last night’s dream.
Who on earth was that woman in her dream?
Just as she was lost in thought, her peripheral vision somehow caught the rosy pink peaks on her chest. Her face flushed abruptly, and she raised her hand across her chest, pretending not to see.
Yet the details from the previous night’s dream rushed into her mind competitively; she could even remember every single sensation the woman in her dream had brought her.
Dammit!
Simply too fatal.
The scenes lingering relentlessly in her mind forced Shen Wuqiu to think in self-abandonment. Could it really be that because the ferocious, wolf-like age was approaching, her body was beginning to grow impatient with loneliness?
Did she really need to go find someone to sleep with?
Shen Yan?
Shen Wuqiu was startled by the thought popping into her own head and hurriedly shook her head. The moment she resisted this thought, the consciousness in her mind immediately shifted her to another notion. Actually, that feeling in the dream wasn’t bad either.
Shen Wuqiu didn’t resist this notion welling up in her mind; she merely developed a subtle internal thought about herself. Turns out what her heart actually liked was women?
Women liking women, though hardly a rare occurrence, was still no minor matter to acknowledge within an environment accustomed to opposite-sex attraction.
However, Shen Wuqiu accepted it rather quickly, even sighing inwardly. No wonder for all these years, among the suitors around her ranging from boys to men, not a single one had ever made her heart flutter; it turns out her heart deep down preferred women.
Thinking along these lines, the sense of shame Shen Wuqiu felt for having such unspeakable dreams lessened considerably.
After washing up, Shen Wuqiu finally remembered her cat.
The white cat was still nowhere to be seen in the room. This had been the case for several consecutive days, so Shen Wuqiu wasn’t surprised either. She picked up the pajamas that had fallen to the floor, only to find them covered in claw marks, with white plastic buttons scattered across the ground.
Without even needing to think, she knew this was definitely the masterpiece of the white cat.
Only, just how deep of a grudge did this little ancestor hold against these pajamas!
Shen Wuqiu looked at the hopeless pajamas, feeling somewhat amused yet exasperated as she tossed them into the trash can.
Heading downstairs, Shen Wuqiu was actually surprised to see Father Shen sitting on the sofa watching television. “Dad?”
“You’re up.” Father Shen maintained his usual calm and stern expression. “Just in time, your Uncle Zheng has already arrived. Go follow him to the West Mountain after you eat.”
Uncle Zheng had already mentioned this to her yesterday. Now that the land had been transferred into her hands, during the current season, she naturally had plenty to keep her busy.
“Mm, I know.” Shen Wuqiu walked toward the kitchen as she spoke.
“Your aunt boiled some millet porridge this morning and fried a few egg pancakes. Just make do with that.”
Having eaten noodles for two mornings in a row, Shen Wuqiu was looking to change things up. “Did you eat? Do you want me to scoop some over for you?”
“I’ve eaten, no need.” Father Shen still had his mind on those lands. “As for that West Mountain plot, once you reach the slopes up top, the soil isn’t fertile anymore. Having contracted it for so many years, in the early days I used it to grow sweet potatoes, and later when I contracted more land, I let it compost for a few years. Now, hearing your Uncle Zheng talk, you’ve also agreed to use the entire West Mountain to plant ponkans.”
While listening to Father Shen speak, Shen Wuqiu scooped up the porridge and pancakes from the kitchen, too lazy to eat in the dining room, and brought them over to place on the living room coffee table.
“Planting bayberries in the fertile zone. I asked Shen Yan about it yesterday. If we plant bayberries, the village can transfer a batch of low-cost bayberry trees to me, and they’ll bear fruit by next year. Planting ponkans on the sloping area above took that into consideration as well. Right now, cultivating wasteland is widely promoted, and Shen Yan said we can even find a way to apply for ponkan tree saplings. Furthermore, ponkans keep for a long time and don’t have overly strict harvesting period requirements, making them reliable and stable.”
Listening to her well-reasoned and logical analysis, Father Shen was quite satisfied. “Since you’ve thought it all through, then go ahead and boldly do it.”
Shen Wuqiu nodded, lowering her head to drink her porridge.
Father Shen watched TV for a moment, then seemed to recall something. “Right, where’s that cat of yours? Why isn’t it following you down?”
“Who knows where it ran off to.” Shen Wuqiu wasn’t worried.
“It’s only been in the house a few days, what if it runs off and doesn’t come back?”
“If it doesn’t come back, then it doesn’t come back.” Shen Wuqiu was still dwelling on yesterday’s red jade, and thinking of the pajamas that cost her a thousand big bucks today, her irritation flared up again. “This unconscionable thing, even after eating your dried fish, at least knew to bring back a gift, but when it comes to me, all it does is cause trouble.”
Father Shen understood now and couldn’t help laughing as he looked at Shen Wuqiu. “Qiuqiu, so the reason you were all huffy and puffy yesterday was because of this?”
Shen Wuqiu refused to admit it. “When was I huffy and puffy?”
It was rare to see her looking like this, so Father Shen didn’t argue with her and just looked at her with a smile.
Feeling completely uncomfortable under that gaze, Shen Wuqiu picked up her bowl. “I’m done eating.”
With that, she carried her bowl toward the kitchen. Right at the doorway, Shen Wuqiu’s younger brother, Shen Wenjun, happened to walk over, and the moment he saw her, he asked, “Sis, where’s the cat?”
Shen Wuqiu said grumpily, “Ran away.”
“It’ll come back today, right?”
“Who knows.”
Shen Wenjun rubbed his chin in thought. “You reckon this cat runs off in the middle of every night because it’s going out to hook up with stray cats? Sis, do you think it’ll give birth to a litter of kittens in a few months?”
Shen Wuqiu’s dish-washing motion paused. At the thought of this possibility, coupled with the memory of those ugly stray tabby cats she saw that night, disgust instantly surged in her heart, and she pondered whether she really ought to get this white cat neutered.
