Cheng Zhili pressed his lips together.

He truly hadn’t expected Fu Laiying to be so perceptive. Had he been too obvious?

Feeling a bit flustered, Cheng Zhili said, “You’re overthinking it.”Full novel: After Stealing My Brother’s Fiancé from His Past Life — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Why won’t you look at me?” Fu Laiying pressed.

“Why wouldn’t I look at you?” Cheng Zhili frowned, lifting his gaze to meet Fu Laiying’s eyes.

Fu Laiying’s gaze was direct and sincere, making even the usually iron-hearted Cheng Zhili feel a twinge of guilt. His eyes flickered, and he couldn’t help but look away again. “Let go, I want to sleep.”

“You want to sleep already? It’s not even noon,” Fu Laiying raised an eyebrow.

“Isn’t it normal for a pregnant man to be sleepy?” Cheng Zhili retorted.

Fu Laiying pursed his lips, a hint of helplessness flashing across his face. “You’re always like this, mixing truth and lies. I can’t tell which of your words are real and which are not.”

Cheng Zhili smirked. “Do you really want to know which of my words are true?”

Fu Laiying nodded. “Tell me, why do you want to sleep with me?”

Cheng Zhili suddenly chuckled. “That’s a funny question. Isn’t it normal for a wife to want to sleep with her husband? It’s strange that you keep rejecting me. Could it be that you can’t…?” He glanced suggestively at Fu Laiying’s lower half.

Fu Laiying’s face turned crimson, clearly agitated. But he quickly took a deep breath and said through gritted teeth, “I want the truth!”

Cheng Zhili fell silent.

After a long pause, he finally said with a playful smile, “Alright, it’s not something I can’t say. I’m just afraid you won’t believe me.”

“If you’re willing to say it, I’m willing to believe it,” Fu Laiying looked at him intently.

Cheng Zhili scoffed inwardly, then said calmly, “Don’t you find it strange, even disgusting, that a man can give birth?”

Fu Laiying was a bit surprised. “You think about things like that too?”

Cheng Zhili rolled his eyes.

Fu Laiying thought for a moment and said, “At first, I did find it unbelievable, but I never thought it was disgusting. As for the child, I was resistant because I disliked you at the time.”

“At the time?” Cheng Zhili looked at him with a half-smile. “And now?”

“Now, of course, I’m looking forward to the child’s arrival!” Fu Laiying’s earlobes turned slightly red.

“General Manager, that’s not what I asked. I asked if you still dislike me now.”

Fu Laiying felt his cheeks begin to burn!

Dislike?

Of course not!

But like?

Fu Laiying turned his head awkwardly. “Anyway, a man giving birth isn’t disgusting. I’m even worried about you! Men don’t have the necessary organs, so where will the baby come out? Will you have complications? And…”

“You sure have a lot of questions,” Cheng Zhili interrupted with a laugh.

“I’m just thinking like a normal person,” Fu Laiying retorted, then frowned. “You almost changed the subject. Why did you ask me that?”

Cheng Zhili smiled coyly and said, “Because with my condition, I need to regularly sleep with a man to provide energy for the baby.”

Fu Laiying’s eyes widened.

This so-called energy couldn’t be…

Cheng Zhili grinned. “Without energy, I’ll feel unwell, and later on, I might even miscarry.”

“Miscarry?!” Fu Laiying was shocked, suddenly recalling the times Cheng Zhili had been anemic and dizzy. Was that due to a lack of energy? Thinking this, he couldn’t help but blush and angrily said, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner? And how often is regular? Is your health already affected?”

Cheng Zhili replied leisurely, “Who wants to talk about such an embarrassing thing? It’s not like a certain president, who remains as pure as water, would accept my advances.”

Fu Laiying was at a loss for words, his face turning even redder.

Cheng Zhili continued, “As for frequency… once a week is enough. I’m just a bit anemic now, it’s not a big deal.”

Fu Laiying, seeing Cheng Zhili’s nonchalant shrug, was so angry his eyes widened. “Not a big deal? You haven’t… uh… with me for over a month! How can you be so careless about your health?!”

“Don’t worry, it hasn’t affected the baby yet,” Cheng Zhili reassured him.

Unexpectedly, Fu Laiying got even angrier. “Am I talking about the baby? I’m worried about your health! I’m angry because you’re being irresponsible with yourself!”

Cheng Zhili was taken aback, not understanding. “What does my health have to do with you?”

Fu Laiying was breathing heavily, clearly upset. “Nothing to do with me? Ha! You’re my partner now! You’re carrying my child! And you say it has nothing to do with me?”

“Uh…” Cheng Zhili was at a loss for words.

He realized the more he spoke, the angrier Fu Laiying got.

After thinking it over, he reluctantly said, “Alright, I misspoke. So, are you willing to sleep with me now?”

“Of course!” Fu Laiying paused, then awkwardly added, “But don’t get the wrong idea, I’m doing it for our child.”

“It’s for the child in the first place, what’s there to misunderstand?” Cheng Zhili was puzzled.

Hearing this, Fu Laiying’s face darkened, and he said directly, “Then take off your clothes!”

Cheng Zhili didn’t mind, casually unbuttoning his shirt. As he undressed, he said, “By the way, do you want some wine? Or I could turn my back when we do it.”

“Why?” Fu Laiying was taken aback.

“Isn’t it Cheng Zhixia you like? Facing me might kill the mood for you. So why not wait until you’re drunk, then you can imagine I’m Cheng Zhixia?” Cheng Zhili remembered their first time, and how Fu Laiying had looked utterly disgusted afterward. To be honest, during something so enjoyable, he didn’t want to see such a look of disgust. It would ruin the mood for him too.

Cheng Zhili thought he was being considerate of Fu Laiying, but the latter’s expression changed instantly, glaring at him fiercely.

“What’s wrong?” Cheng Zhili was confused.

Fu Laiying gritted his teeth. “Are you doing this on purpose?”

“Doing what on purpose?” Cheng Zhili was baffled.

Fu Laiying huffed, releasing him and getting off the bed. “Just you wait!”

“Huh? Where are you going?” Cheng Zhili was bewildered.

He had already taken off his pants, and now Fu Laiying was leaving?

However, Fu Laiying didn’t answer his question, leaving the bedroom. After a while, he returned with a bottle of red wine and glasses.

Cheng Zhili realized.

So he went to get wine!

Even though he seemed angry, in the end, he still needed to get drunk to sleep with him?

Cheng Zhili scoffed inwardly, watching as Fu Laiying uncorked the wine, poured himself a full glass, and began to drink it in large gulps, his actions hurried and rough, unlike a refined gentleman.

Cheng Zhili was taken aback. “Hey, who drinks wine like that? Take your time. I’m not going anywhere…”

Before he could finish, Fu Laiying glared at him.

Cheng Zhili was utterly confused.

Had he said something wrong again?

Then, he watched as Fu Laiying drank the entire bottle of wine.

Though red wine isn’t very strong, its effects can be potent. After a good fifteen minutes, Fu Laiying’s cheeks and neck were flushed, his eyes becoming hazy.

“Drunk?” Cheng Zhili raised a hand, gently touching his cheek.

Hmm, a bit warm.

The next moment, his hand was grasped, and Fu Laiying pushed him down onto the bed.

Finally…

Cheng Zhili felt a sense of relief, closing his eyes to wait for Fu Laiying’s next move.

However, he only felt a weight on his shoulder, a fluffy head nestled into his neck, warm breaths brushing against his sensitive skin, sending shivers down his spine.

Cheng Zhili opened his eyes and turned his head.

Fu Laiying was on top of him, holding him with drunken eyes.

“Fu Laiying?” Cheng Zhili blinked in confusion.

What was happening?

“Hmm…” Fu Laiying hummed in response.

Their eyes met.

“Not going to do it?” Cheng Zhili asked.

Fu Laiying moved sluggishly, rubbing his hair against Cheng Zhili’s cheek. “Cheng Zhili…” he murmured, then suddenly paused, as if about to fall asleep.

“Hmm?” Cheng Zhili responded.

Fu Laiying seemed to hear him, whispering, “Cheng Zhili.”

“I’m here, what’s up? What do you mean?” Cheng Zhili was puzzled.

“Cheng Zhili…” Fu Laiying’s voice suddenly took on a nasal tone, sounding almost like he was pouting.

“What’s going on?” Cheng Zhili was speechless.

Fu Laiying finally lifted his head from Cheng Zhili’s neck, leaning close with a soft laugh. “Did you see? Even drunk, I know you’re Cheng Zhili.”

Cheng Zhili was stunned.

Fu Laiying murmured softly, almost like a dream, “You’re Cheng Zhili, not Cheng Zhixia. Right now, I want you, Cheng Zhili. Are you ready?”

Cheng Zhili’s breath caught, his whole body suddenly feeling unbearably hot!

Damn! Fu Laiying, do you even know what you’re saying? You’re playing with fire!

Cheng Zhili mentally complained, then watched as Fu Laiying’s lips moved closer, aiming for his own. His face flushed, he instinctively raised a hand to push him away, but his palm met the warmth and softness of a kiss.

The scent of red wine seemed to linger in the air.

Cheng Zhili felt his whole body go weak, his eyes misting over.

This was bad! Very bad!

He had always been the one teasing Fu Laiying, when had it become his turn to be so thoroughly teased?

Was Fu Laiying doing this on purpose or not?

But Cheng Zhili had to admit, Fu Laiying’s words made him inexplicably happy.

It was the first time someone saw him as Cheng Zhili, not the universally adored Cheng Zhixia. Moreover, the person saying it was Fu Laiying, Cheng Zhixia’s former fiancé!

It was immensely satisfying!

Cheng Zhili felt both excited and shy.

However, he quickly realized he shouldn’t reject Fu Laiying.

Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity?

Thinking this, Cheng Zhili wrapped his arms around Fu Laiying’s neck, a seductive red tinting the corners of his eyes. “Hey, say my name again?”

“Huff—huff—” Fu Laiying lay against his chest, breathing evenly.

Cheng Zhili: …

“Fu Laiying?”

No response.

Cheng Zhili’s face darkened.

Who was it that said they wanted him just now? And now, after saying it, they fell asleep? Come on, he was all excited! What was he supposed to do now?

Cheng Zhili stared at Fu Laiying’s dark hair, filled with endless resentment…
