“Dad, I’m really fine.”

After redirecting Hei Yun’s eyes away from her for the 257th time—eyes that seemed practically glued to her—Lin Suisui said helplessly.

Hei Yun unwillingly looked away, but less than a minute later, his gaze drifted back to Lin Suisui on its own.

Hei Yun looked at her innocently, like a dejected puppy. Anyone could see how pitiful he looked.

Cheng Shiwu fed a spoonful of cooled chicken soup into Lin Suisui’s mouth.

“Just let him look. He’s scared too.”

After they returned, there were countless matters at the base that needed attention. Those highly infectious impurities had vanished without a trace after attacking them once more, as if they had never existed.

He had to hold on and investigate everything thoroughly. He could not allow those things to appear again and harm the cub. Otherwise, he himself would not be able to endure it.

During the time Lin Suisui was unconscious, he had blamed himself countless times for taking her to such a dangerous place.

Lin Suisui sighed helplessly.

It seemed that this incident had truly frightened Dad and the others.

At first, Cheng Fifteen and the others thought Lin Suisui was simply asleep. But one day passed, then two days, and after a full three days, there was still no sign of her waking up.

If the cub had not still been breathing, Hei Yun would probably have destroyed this place.

Even so, Hei Yun had been on the verge of collapse, his uncontrollable spiritual power leaking out in all directions.

No one dared approach the room.

Hei Yun refused to let anyone come near the cub.

Thinking about this, Cheng Fifteen suddenly looked exhausted.

That young man from before had turned out to be the strange ancient tree.

Over the past three days, the two had fought more than once. They despised each other on sight, and every attack was aimed at taking the other’s life.

Batch after batch of items in the base had been destroyed.

When Ge Sang returned and saw the damage, he would probably go crazy.

Three days had already passed.

He should be back by now.

“My sister told you to turn around. Why won’t you do it?”

The young man stared at Hei Yun with a gloomy expression. It looked as if, if the man refused to turn around, he was prepared to do it for him by force.

Hei Yun did not even glance at him.

He was just an unimportant person.

He only listened to the little cub.

“You’re not allowed to look at my sister.”

The young man moved as if about to attack.

Hei Yun was completely unafraid.

He casually glanced at him.

If you have the ability, then come.

“Hmph!”

Lin Tianci curled his lips into a cold smile.

This person was really annoying.

If his sister didn’t like him, he would have turned him into fertilizer for his tree long ago.

Cheng Fifteen watched the scene with a headache.

Here they go again.

Hei Yun knew that Lin Tianci was Sui’an, the one who had once made the little cub cry. He had even shouted about uprooting the tree completely.

Lin Tianci, meanwhile, had personally witnessed his sister collapse. In his eyes, Hei Yun was a useless man who couldn’t protect her. He might as well return his sister to him.

The two disliked each other immensely.

Even the slightest spark could start a fight.

“It’s okay. I was just saying it casually. If Dad wants to look, then let him look.”

Feeling embarrassed that her offhand comment had been taken so seriously, Lin Suisui spoke up.

“And also, I’m really not your sister.”

Her words caused darkness to flash across the young man’s eyes.

Was Sister… abandoning him?

Lin Tianci spoke softly.

“Sister, are you angry with Sui’an because of what Sui’an said? Do you not want Sui’an anymore?”

His voice carried a trace of fragility.

“No. I’m really not your sister.”

Lin Suisui said.

She had only hatched not long ago herself. How could she possibly have a younger brother?

“Then you must be angry with Sui’an.”

Lin Tianci insisted.

“Will beating me make you feel better?”

“Huh?”

Lin Suisui did not understand what he was saying.

“Sister, punish Sui’an. Sui’an said the wrong thing. Just hit me a few times to vent your anger.”

Once her anger was gone, Sister would forgive him.

Lin Tianci lowered his head obediently.

A hopeful light flickered in his eyes.

If Sister hit him, she would forgive him.

The blood deep within the young man’s bones trembled with excitement.

Lin Tianci moved his face closer.

“What are you talking about?!”

The little cub burst out angrily.

“Why would I hit you? Do you really let people hit you that easily?”

“Sister…”

Lin Tianci froze helplessly.

Looking at the suddenly angry Lin Suisui, he felt as though he had ruined everything and made Sister angry.

A surge of anger rose inexplicably in Lin Suisui’s chest.

She had only said something casually.

Why did it have to become like this?

Seeing Lin Tianci stand there, willing to be scolded or beaten without fighting back, made her even angrier.

Lin Suisui had never been this furious before.

Yet mixed in with the anger was heartache.

Why was he like this?

How had he become like this?

He should have been innocent and cheerful, not this cautious and timid version of himself.

“You’re not a toy for people to vent their frustrations on. Why are you acting like this?”

Lin Suisui was genuinely angry.

The little cub’s chest rose and fell rapidly.

Hei Yun reached out and gently patted her back.

“Don’t be angry.”

Lin Tianci didn’t know why Lin Suisui was angry, but that didn’t stop him from apologizing.

“Sister, I’m sorry.”

Lin Suisui became even angrier.

She placed her small hands-on Lin Tianci’s shoulders and spoke seriously.

“You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“And no one is allowed to bully you.”

Lin Tianci replied,

“Sister can.”

Lin Suisui shook her head.

“I can’t either.”

The little cub looked at him seriously.

“If you didn’t do anything wrong, then you don’t need to apologize. Even if you did make a mistake, don’t just let people beat or scold you. If someone bullies you, then fight back.”

“If you can’t win, come find me. I’ll ask Dad to help you beat them up.”

The suddenly-mentioned Hei Yun silently straightened his back and stepped forward proudly.

Lin Tianci stared blankly at Lin Suisui.

“Tianci, don’t cry. Anyone who bullied you, Sister will beat them up for you. No one is allowed to bully our Tianci.”

Lin Tianci murmured softly,

“Sister…”

The young man’s eyes instantly turned red.

He looked at Lin Suisui like a pitiful stray puppy that had wandered alone for a very long time.

Now it was Lin Suisui’s turn to panic.

“Sui’an, don’t cry.”

The little cub hurriedly wiped away his tears.

Lin Tianci suddenly pulled her into his arms.

His aggrieved sobs came out weakly.

“Sister, Sui’an really missed you.”

Forget it.

Lin Suisui gave in and hugged him back.

“Sister missed Sui’an too.”

She knew that the young man was that lonely tree standing all by itself.

There had never been anyone beside him.

He must have been very lonely.

Ever since she woke up, he had followed her around calling her “Sister,” his eyes filled with dependence on her.

She actually felt that Lin Tianci had mistaken her for someone else.

After hatching, Lin Suisui’s body was that of a three- or four-year-old child.

No matter how she looked at it, she shouldn’t be Lin Tianci’s sister.

Perhaps she simply resembled his real sister.

If it made the young man happier, Lin Suisui didn’t mind letting him call her Sister.

Until he found his real sister, she would do her best to be Sui’an’s sister.

Though it was a little awkward.

A fifteen- or sixteen-year-old boy calling a tiny child with a three-head-tall body “Sister.”

“So Sister isn’t angry with Sui’an anymore?”

His red rabbit-like eyes looked at Lin Suisui.

Lin Suisui stroked the head of the sad puppy.

“Sister was never angry with Sui’an in the first place.”

“Then don’t pay attention to him anymore, okay, Sister? I’ll take you somewhere else.”
