After stockpiling all those supplies, the System Space instantly advanced to Level 4, unlocking the entire second floor. There were many empty rooms upstairs, making it obvious that they still had a long way to go before filling the space with enough supplies.

The next day, Chen Qingzhou and Gu Nuan went to register their marriage. Both of them looked a little nervous.

When they walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Gu Nuan still felt as though she were in a daze. So they are really married now. She had officially secured her place by the future big shot’s side.Full novel: After the Apocalypse: I Became Pregnant with the Male Lead’s Child — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Looking at the gloomy sky overhead and the many people on the streets with vacant expressions, she realised the Apocalypse was truly about to arrive.

“Come on. Let’s go buy a pair of wedding rings, then take some wedding photos. We got married in a hurry, but we should still have everything we’re supposed to,” Chen Qingzhou said as he gently guided Gu Nuan towards the shopping centre.

After choosing their rings, they slipped them onto each other’s fingers. The couple’s exceptional looks left the sales assistant at the jewellery counter green with envy. Afterwards, they had three sets of wedding photographs taken: one in a white wedding gown, one in traditional Chinese wedding attire, and one in formal evening wear. They paid for express processing so they could collect the photos the following day.

“Is there anywhere else in this city that you’ve always wanted to visit? We should go now, because we won’t have another chance later,” Chen Qingzhou said.

Gu Nuan thought about it for a moment but could not think of anything.

“Not really. What about you?”

“Let’s go to the seaside.”

“Sure.”

The two of them took a taxi to the beach and spent a long time playing barefoot in the sea. As they passed vendors selling fresh seafood along the shore, Gu Nuan stocked up on a large amount of seafood. She also secretly dug a larger pond beside the fish pools inside her System Space, where she kept many live seafood creatures and filled it with plenty of seawater.

After having a meal at a seaside restaurant, they returned to the apartment. Since Gu Nuan had evening classes that day, Chen Qingzhou walked her to the entrance of her classroom, making yet another group of female students burn with jealousy.

Gu Nuan really was blessed. Chen Qingzhou was the university’s aloof campus heartthrob, yet she had actually managed to win him over. If they had known he was this easy to pursue, they would have made their move long ago.

That evening’s class was Ancient Chinese Literary History. Gu Nuan felt a headache coming on before the lecture even began. It was the subject she disliked the most because the professor’s lectures were unbelievably dull.

Although Gu Nuan was highly skilled with computers, she was not a Computer Science student. She majored in Chinese Language and Literature.

Chen Qingzhou studied Economics and Management, the standard programme for heirs groomed to inherit family businesses. Although he was an illegitimate son, he was Old Master Chen’s only son, which meant he was also the only possible heir to the Chen family.

Chen Qingzhou was a reserved and low profile person, and no one at the university knew that he was the heir to the Chen family of Haicheng. If they ever found out, they would go crazy. The Chen family was one of Haicheng’s Four Great Families, something Gu Nuan had only learned accidentally when she once overheard his good for nothing father mention it.

After class ended, Gu Nuan packed up her things and left. Chen Qingzhou was already waiting outside to pick her up.

“What are you doing here, Qingzhou? You never used to come and pick me up.”

“I’m afraid you’ll be scared.”

“Huh?”

Fine! Such a stubborn man. He was obviously worried about the babies in her belly.

Gu Nuan linked her arm through his, then piled all of her books into his arms. Since she had perfectly good free labour available, why should she carry them herself? Watching her take full advantage of the situation, Chen Qingzhou could not help smiling.

The following day, their wedding photographs were delivered to their door. Gu Nuan loved them so much that she hung them inside the motorhome. She also bought a large quantity of seasonings, since she would have to cook for herself in the vehicle once the Apocalypse began.

Because they did not have any suitable weapons, Chen Qingzhou was troubled. Controlled blades and similar weapons could not be purchased freely, yet they would need weapons to deal with zombies.

Gu Nuan suddenly thought of having one custom made.

“We can commission one and just say it’s a prop for a film crew. Then I’ll buy a whetstone and sharpen it myself.”

“That could work. I’ll go look for a blacksmith’s shop on the outskirts.”

“Mm, go ahead.”

Chen Qingzhou returned soon after selecting a long sabre and also commissioned a bow. Both would be ready for collection the following afternoon.

There were only three days left before the Apocalypse, and they had made every possible preparation.
