"Baby, this—"

Yu Yao was practically dying of desire for her.

Like a petty man consumed by lust, his mind was filled with nothing but the romantic entanglements he once disdained. The moment he saw her, he wanted to hold her and kiss her. A man like him had actually grown jealous of another man—jealous of someone inferior to him in every way, a cowardly, incompetent, selfish, and greedy man.Full novel: After the Apocalypse, I Ran Into My Amnesiac Ex — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

What right did a man like that have to kiss her and hold her, to be her legitimate boyfriend who could appear with her in public, while he could only use underhanded means in the shadows, despicably trying to poach someone else's corner?

Yu Yao simply couldn't hold back. He turned his head to kiss her cheek, and sensing her resistance, the hand pressed against the small of her back applied more force, lifting her up easily by supporting the base of her buttocks.

"Yu Yao!"

Yun Ying was startled by him and slapped him across the shoulder. Yu Yao sat on the bed and positioned her on his lap, straddling him.

"You psycho! Let go!"

Yu Yao acted as if he couldn't understand human speech, lowering his head to kiss her eyes. She turned her head away, so he kissed her cheek, pecking at the small mole near her ear. The more he kissed, the more familiar it felt—some inexplicable subconscious impulse made him want to keep kissing downward.

That familiar feeling was guiding him. He suddenly had a thought—it seemed like Yun Ying had more than just this one small mole on her body.

There seemed to be another small mole on her chest, located on her left breast near her heart.

Almost instinctively, he reached out, his fingertip sliding under the hem of her sweater. Just as he touched her soft, slender waist and was about to move upward, Yun Ying slapped him across the face.

The stray hairs on his forehead covered his straight, handsome brows. Yu Yao closed his eyes, then suddenly laughed.

He gripped Yun Ying's waist with too much force. Yun Ying was struggling desperately at this point, trying to get up from his embrace, but a certain bad dog was biting down on her and refusing to let go.

Yu Yao turned his head to look at her, then tenderly kissed her palm with a pained expression: "Did I hurt you? It's all red. You're going to worry me to death, you know?"

Absolutely shameless!

Yun Ying was so angry her small face flushed red, her whole body heating up: "This is you being a pervert! I want to go live with Sister Lin and the others!"

Yu Yao didn't deny that he was being a pervert. He looked at the person sitting on him, scanning her brows and eyes with a greedy gaze that was almost probing.

"I have no other options either, baby. Have we met before? I'm just too familiar with you."

He raised his hand and pressed it against the side of her neck, his fingertip unconsciously rubbing gently. The thin calluses on his palm scraped against her delicate skin, and that itchy, trembling, tingling sensation made Yun Ying's hair stand on end with wariness.

"Baby, can I take a look at your chest?"

Yun Ying: "?"

Yun Ying looked at him in shock and slapped him across the face, then flustered, tried to slide off him.

"Sister Lu! Help!"

Yu Yao closed his eyes and let out a heavy breath, realizing how insane his words had been. He held her tight, his chin resting on her shoulder.

"Do you have a mole?"

Yun Ying suddenly stopped moving. Her gaze fell on the large bed behind him, her cheek pressed against his. In that moment, she almost thought Yu Yao had remembered.

Yu Yao's long lashes were half-lowered as he tightened his hold on her slender waist.

"I keep feeling like you must have a mole, on your left breast. If you really do have that mole, then what a coincidence, baby—our connection is heaven-sent. Even the heavens are guiding us."

There was a mole on Yun Ying's left breast, in a very hidden spot that would absolutely never be seen in daily life. After Yu Yao discovered that mole, that spot became one of his favorite places.

But Yu Yao had lost his memory—how could he possibly know??

Yun Ying immediately denied it: "No!"

Not only did she deny it, she went on the offensive: "You must have been quite the player before the apocalypse. Which girlfriend of yours had a mole on her chest? You must be misremembering. You're just a bastard!"

Yu Yao was stunned by her bamboozling, and his grip loosened. Yun Ying struggled against him with all four limbs, and when she felt a certain sensation, she panicked and scrambled off him. Looking down, this bastard was hard again—

She kicked him in the knee and said furiously, "Pervert! Lecher!!"

The lecher got slapped twice and kicked several times. Abandoned mercilessly by his darling at his most vulnerable moment, Yun Ying ran off to the master bedroom in a flash and locked the door behind her.

He sat on the bed, tilting his head back slightly, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down, but he couldn't suppress the heat and pain.

Yu Yao got up, grabbed some clean clothes, and pushed open the bathroom door.

The two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment was a standard layout—two bedrooms on the east and west sides, with the bathroom in the corridor between them. As a result, Yun Ying inevitably heard the sounds of Yu Yao showering.

Amid the sound of water were low gasps. Yun Ying was no innocent—she knew exactly what he was doing. Yu Yao was a wicked thing, a lecher both before and after losing his memory.

She covered her ears and buried her head under the blanket, wishing she were deaf.

Yu Yao considered himself not particularly lustful, nor did he have a fondness for such things, but a twenty-eight-year-old man would inevitably have normal physiological urges. What used to be easily resolved physical needs were now unbearably difficult to endure.

His mind was full of her image. He wanted so many things, but she was willing to give so little.

Yu Yao took a cold shower for over an hour. When he came out of the bathroom, he dried his hair and glanced at Yun Ying's tightly closed door, then raised his hand and knocked.

"Change your clothes. We'll go out in a bit to buy some things you need."

Yun Ying threw off the blanket. Even through the door, it was as if she could bore holes through Yu Yao outside with her glare. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and only after Yu Yao entered his own room did she rush into the bathroom.

Inside was cold and chilly, without a trace of warmth. Yu Yao had just taken a pure cold-water shower. Yun Ying closed the door and muttered, "Why didn't you freeze to death?"

It was October, and winter was about to begin, but Yu Yao was a fire-elemental superpower user, so it was unlikely he'd freeze to death.

Yun Ying turned on the faucet, and clean tap water flowed out. In the apocalypse, this was extremely precious. Few people would be willing to spend Credits on water for washing up, yet Yu Yao seemed to have no shortage of water.

He also didn't look like someone short on Credits. He must be living quite comfortably.

Yun Ying washed her face, then went back and opened her suitcase, which contained clean clothes Yu Yao had gathered for her.

By the time she finished getting ready, Yu Yao also came out of the bedroom. He saw the young woman had changed into a yellow woolen coat and jeans, her face fair and tender. Meeting her averted gaze, he knew what Yun Ying was thinking—nothing more than that he was shameless.

After putting on their shoes and heading out, Yu Yao closed the door and casually took Yun Ying's hand. Sure enough, she struggled like she'd been caught by a ghost.

"So stubborn," Yu Yao said, gripping her hand tightly as he pressed the button for the downward elevator. While waiting, he turned his head to look at Yun Ying, who was flailing with both hands and feet, and gave her a mischievous grin. "What a coincidence—I'm a stubborn one too."

When two stubborn people get together, it all comes down to who can out-stubborn the other.

In the end, Yu Yao won.

Yun Ying was exhausted, gasping for breath, as he led her to the underground garage. Yu Yao opened the RV and pulled her into the passenger seat.

As he drove, Yu Yao asked her, "Tired?"

Yun Ying glared at him, catching the smile on Yu Yao's lips.

This bastard was doing it on purpose!

There were supplies for sale at the base, but the prices were exorbitantly high. Pre-apocalypse currency had long fallen out of use; after the apocalypse, people bartered or used the base's universal Credits to shop.

Yu Yao drove to the only remaining shopping mall in Dingcheng Base that still had a relatively complete stock of supplies. Most people who could enter were Ability Users and their families, those with enough Credits to shop.

Yu Yao pushed a shopping cart and headed first to the daily necessities section.

Yun Ying watched as he picked up toiletries and thoughtfully bought her facial cleanser, then grabbed two pairs of women's slippers—one for winter, one for summer.

She followed behind him, watching as Yu Yao quickly filled the cart. Many of the items were things Yun Ying would only have bought before the apocalypse; after it, she couldn't use them and couldn't bear to spend on them.

For instance, Yu Yao specifically bought her a small solar lamp, priced at five hundred Credits.

Yun Ying walked over to stop him. "I don't need it."

Yu Yao just kept putting things in the cart. "Take it. The base's power supply is unstable—there are frequent blackouts."

After buying the daily necessities, he asked, "See what you want to eat, go grab some."

It was all snacks. Yun Ying turned her head away. "No need, I don't eat those."

Yu Yao leaned in, bending down to her ear. "Don't skimp on my account. Take more advantage of me—I've already bullied you, so at the very least you should let me bleed a little so I can feel better about it, right?"

Yun Ying's eyes shot daggers at him, but seeing the amusement in Yu Yao's gaze, she stomped hard on his foot and turned toward the snack section.

Before the apocalypse, her diet was managed by a dedicated nutritionist, with meals adjusted monthly based on various health metrics. Yu Yao often took her out to eat, always at exorbitantly priced places.

Instant noodles, spicy strips, carbonated drinks—these were junk food in Yu Yao's eyes. Yun Ying didn't dare eat them in the Yu family mansion either; only when she was at school with friends could she indulge freely.

She hadn't tasted these in a long time. Yu Yao was buying her a table and chairs in the furniture section. Yun Ying glanced at him, saw that he didn't seem to care what she ate—he didn't stop her—so she grabbed a dozen packs of spicy strips in one go.

Although this mall was the only one in the base with a relatively complete stock, it wasn't particularly comprehensive. After the apocalypse, many production factories had long fallen. Most of what remained were pre-apocalypse supplies—eat one, and there's one less.

For example, Yun Ying's favorite peach drink—there was only one case left on the entire shelf. She was holding a pile of spicy strips and had just raised her hand to grab it when someone beat her to it.

Xu Jingchuan took the drink, tossed it up with one hand, and said with a smile, "First come, first served, little sister. Buy something else—"

He turned his head and met a pair of pitch-black, bright eyes, round and glossy, like two black grapes.

A strange heat crept up her cheeks. Xu Jingchuan's unfinished words rolled around in his mouth before being swallowed back down, and he turned his head away with a cough.

Yun Ying didn't mind. Clutching her spicy strips, she turned and walked off.

Someone caught up from behind and tugged at her sleeve. Yun Ying frowned and looked back—it was that young-looking boy.

He was simply wearing a gray hoodie over a loose white tee, paired with straight-leg jeans in a similar light tone—a very common, youthful outfit for a college guy before the apocalypse, but extremely precious now.

Because clean clothes meant the person had enough capability to live comfortably. He was probably an Ability User, or had a powerful Ability User companion.

Xu Jingchuan's face was very red. Seeing her frown, he quickly let go of her sleeve.

"Sorry, I—I, I don't really like drinks either. You take it."

He shoved the can toward her, then glanced at the spicy strips in Yun Ying's arms, thinking to himself that their tastes were actually quite similar—he loved this junk food too.

"These spicy strips are really good." Xu Jingchuan pressed a pack into her hands. "Try them, you'll see. They're delicious."

Yun Ying nodded. "Thanks."

She was about to leave when Xu Jingchuan blocked her path again. Yun Ying looked up in confusion. The handsome young man stood before her, scratching his head awkwardly, clearly unused to this, and gave an embarrassed smile.

"Can I add your contact—no, I mean, can I ask your name?"

It was the apocalypse—the networks had long since collapsed, so a contact was pointless. But in a place this small, knowing a name was enough to find someone.

Xu Jingchuan had never asked a girl for her contact before. Before the apocalypse, it was usually him getting asked for his number. He stared at Yun Ying's face, hands trembling with nerves.

Yun Ying of course knew what he meant. She opened her mouth to refuse: "Sorry, I—"

"She can't." A cold, hard voice refused on her behalf. A hand reached from behind, wrapping around Yun Ying's shoulder and pulling her into an embrace.

Xu Jingchuan frowned and looked up, meeting a sharp, handsome face. The man had none of a boy's delicate youthfulness—he was fully grown, and even his tactical jacket couldn't hide his tall frame and lean muscles.

But Xu Jingchuan was tall himself, and nearly met Yu Yao's gaze at eye level.

Yu Yao held down the slightly struggling Yun Ying and walked off with her, half-forcefully. Along the way, he casually tossed some snacks into a shopping cart that he figured a girl would like, then pushed the cart with one hand while gripping Yun Ying's wrist with the other to check out.

The simple table and chairs he'd bought for her would be delivered tomorrow. Yu Yao hoisted two big bags of supplies into the car, opened the passenger door, and stuffed the still-standing Yun Ying inside.

He got in as well, sitting in the car with just the two of them. Suddenly, Yu Yao let out a light laugh.

"So I'm not the only one with good taste." Yu Yao was actually in the mood to tease. He turned to look at her; the girl was lowering her head to take a sip of her drink—the very peach-flavored soda.

Yun Ying curled her lips, thinking, they really have nothing better to do. It's the end of the world and they're still in the mood for romance. She was exhausted just trying to survive each day.

Random jealousy was actually pretty meaningless. It could easily drive a person to do irrational things and seriously chip away at their appeal. Of course, Yu Yao knew that.

But that was a boy about the same age as Yun Ying, or even a bit younger. Those spicy strips and drinks that Yu Yao considered worthless—or even health-threatening—were a shared dietary preference between Yun Ying and that boy.

Young, handsome, neatly dressed, probably with strong survival skills, and more importantly, shared interests and a handsome face.

Yu Yao thought about Song Huai. He wasn't as tall or handsome as today's boy, but he shared a similar trait with this young man—

Both leaned toward the refined and elegant type, not Yu Yao's kind of looks that seemed somewhat aggressive.

Yu Yao didn't quite trust Yun Ying's bizarre taste. She might actually be into that type.

He stayed silent for a long time. Yun Ying quietly looked up and said in a small voice, "If you're not leaving, then I'll go back by myself?"

Little ingrate.

Yu Yao turned his head away, laughed out of anger, and drove toward home.

Not long after their RV left, another RV drove over, and several people walked out of the supermarket exit.

The youth got into the car. The driver was a burly man in a tank top, who turned his head to glance at him: "Every time you go buy supplies you eat this stuff. Can't you buy something nutritious?"

In the past, Xu Jingchuan would have snapped back at him.

Today he said nothing, hugging his cola with vacant eyes.

Xu Qingheng, who had gotten into the car, glanced at her younger brother and frowned: "What's wrong with you?"

Xu Jingchuan slowly shook his head and turned stiffly to look at his sister.

"Sis, I think I've fallen in love."

Xu Qingheng raised her hand and smacked him on the head: "You lunatic."

Xu Jingchuan rubbed his head and muttered: "Really, she's so cute… but she seems to have a boyfriend."

When he said this, he deflated, his shoulders slumping as he said: "I've been dumped again."

The others in the car couldn't be bothered with him. They loaded the supplies and drove out of the garage.

Xu Jingchuan looked out the window. This was Dingcheng Base, and it hadn't been easy for them to get in.

That Ability User must be very powerful—his clothes were clean and neat, and he could even keep his girlfriend pretty and spotless. In the apocalypse, he could still allow her to spend Credits on snacks with no nutrition and no filling value. Looking at that cart full of supplies, he probably doted on her a lot.

Xu Jingchuan sighed, feeling a bit sour inside.

His first love that ended before it even began!

Yun Ying had no idea when she had broken a young boy's heart.

Carrying the supplies home, Yun Ying was almost done with that bottle of drink. Eight months into the apocalypse, she hadn't had a single sip of carbonated beverage. She felt wonderful, leaning on the sofa and rubbing her belly.

Yu Yao sorted and put away the supplies. When he came out, he saw Yun Ying lying on the sofa, holding up that peach-flavored drink and examining it, looking very reluctant to part with it.

Just one bottle of drink—what was there to be so reluctant about?

Of course Yun Ying was reluctant. This was probably the last bottle of peach-flavored carbonated drink in the entire base. Only one sip was left, and she treasured it greatly. Just as she was about to drink it, someone snatched it away.

The girl looked up blankly at Yu Yao. He grabbed her drink and downed the last sip, crushed the bottle, and without even looking, tossed it casually—the can landed precisely in the trash bin.

"One bottle of drink, and you're this reluctant to part with it?"

Yun Ying: "…"

That wasn't just any bottle of drink. It was her favorite drink from before the apocalypse, and she hadn't had it in eight months!

Yun Ying pressed her red lips together. "You're shameless!"

Yu Yao sneered. "Why so stingy? Can't spare a single sip for me?"

He twisted open a bottle of milk with one hand and held it out. "Drink this."

Yun Ying glared at him. "I'm not drinking it!"

Stubborn little thing, with plenty of temper.

That was exactly what Yu Yao loved about her—her little tantrums. Absolutely adorable.

He set the milk down and knelt on the sofa with one knee. Yun Ying sensed something was off and tried to flee, but it was too late. Yu Yao pressed her shoulder and pushed her back down, leaning over to cage her beneath him.

"You're such a treasure, heart of mine. Everywhere you go, people can't stop thinking about you. We chased off one ex-husband, and now some blind fool comes along. Baby, at this rate I'm going to lose my sense of security."

Who asked him to feel secure, anyway!

"I don't care about you—even a third marriage wouldn't go to you!"

Yun Ying struggled to get away, but Yu Yao held her shoulders with ease, trapping her without any effort.

Yu Yao said coldly, "A third marriage, huh? Such a tiny little thing, but with ambitions this big?"

His thumb pressed against her jaw as he stared at the glisten at the corner of her lips. Yun Ying caught the look in his eyes and tried to dodge, but Yu Yao leaned down and kissed her.

His lips met the corner of hers, licking away the leftover drink stain. The sweet carbonated soda had a peach flavor.

Whenever he was close to her, he always wanted to get nearer, unable to control the urge to kiss her lips. A sharp sting came at his lip—Yun Ying bit him hard.

Yu Yao pulled back, wiped his lip with his thumb, and looked at the blood on it with a light chuckle.

"Nice teeth too."

Yun Ying had already darted away, grabbing a throw pillow and hurling it at him. Yu Yao caught it with one raised hand.

She slammed the master bedroom door shut and refused to acknowledge him any further.

Yun Ying leaned against the door panel and angrily wiped at the corner of her mouth. Even after losing his memory, Yu Yao was anything but kind. Before the apocalypse, he'd always loved teasing her, both in bed and out, with that insufferable smugness. After the apocalypse, his dog-like nature had gone wild, and he was even worse than before.

Maybe back then he'd still kept up some image of being an older brother figure, but now he'd completely cast off all restraint.

Yun Ying heard the sounds of someone tidying up in the living room. She didn't go out. After a while, there was a knock on the door.

"I'm going out to handle something. I'll be back in about two hours. Don't go wandering off—there are other people in this building besides us, and it's not safe."

Yun Ying didn't answer.

Yu Yao continued, "Be good. There's food at home. Eat if you're hungry. I'm leaving the intercom here—if anything comes up, you can contact Lin Xizhi and Lu Yao directly. But don't leave the house."

Yun Ying finally responded. "Got it!"

Even her reply was laced with sulkiness. Yu Yao laughed at her, then left with reluctance.

Now that there was a little treasure at home, he didn't even want to go out.

When she heard the front door close and confirmed Yu Yao was gone, Yun Ying finally came out. She looked around—on the living room table were the snacks she'd bought. Before leaving, Yu Yao had also boiled a pot of hot water and mopped the floor.

Yun Ying glanced around vaguely, then her gaze caught on something hanging on the balcony. The underwear she hadn't had time to wash when changing clothes had been sitting in the basin with the rest of her laundry, waiting to be washed together in the evening.

That damn dog had not only washed her outer clothes, but he'd even scrubbed her underwear on the side!

Yu Yao drove out, thinking about the girl back home the whole way.

He hadn't locked the door when he left. He was indeed worried, but locking Yun Ying inside the house would be disrespectful to her. She was someone with strong pride, and she'd probably get angry.

Yu Yao figured she probably wouldn't go out either—at most, she'd have Lu Yao and Lin Xizhi come up to keep her company.

The RV was parked in an industrial park on the outskirts of the city. Yu Yao locked the vehicle and headed inside. The armed guard at the entrance nodded to him.

"Captain Yu."

Yu Yao nodded back and walked all the way in, entering a six-story office building.

He took the elevator down and got off at a certain floor. The moment he stepped out, he caught the smell of disinfectant, along with the faint scent of formalin.

Rows of transparent cultivation pods lined both sides of the corridor, filled with various specimens, while researchers in white lab coats and heavy protective gear attended to their duties.

Yu Yao pushed open the door to a research lab.

One person was inside—Dr. Zhang looked up at him and said flatly, "Team Leader Yu is back."

News of Yu Yao's return had already reached them.

In the past, Yu Yao would always come straight to the research base upon returning, yet today he'd delayed until late at night. Still, they'd all heard the rumor—the guy had brought a girlfriend home this time. A stone tree had finally bloomed.

Yu Yao handed over a box. "The crystal core from that mutated zombie."

Dr. Zhang took it and opened it. Sure enough, it was a high-rank zombie—even its crystal core gleamed with an eerie, alluring light, far larger than those of ordinary zombies.

"It's a Wood Element user," Yu Yao said, arms crossed as he leaned against the table behind him. "We don't know yet whether it's a naturally awakened ability, or whether a Wood-type Ability User got infected and mutated into a zombie."

Dr. Zhang placed the crystal core in the freezer, then walked over and bent down to adjust the microscope, continuing to observe the tissue sample she'd placed there earlier.

"I heard you encountered a mutated animal?"

"Yes. You guessed right—animals can mutate."

Dr. Zhang didn't seem surprised. She nodded and asked, "So has the identity of that high-rank zombie been confirmed?"

"Confirmed." Yu Yao looked at Dr. Zhang. "It's the person you've been looking for."

Dr. Zhang was silent for a long time. Without a word, she finished the small experiment, then pulled off her mask, revealing the burn scar on the side of her face, and quietly removed her gloves.

"Four months before the apocalypse broke out on a large scale—that is, a year ago—the zombie virus had already leaked. It was suppressed back then, until it erupted completely a few months later."

Dr. Zhang paused, then continued, "The apocalypse should actually be dated back a few more months. The high-rank zombies and mutated animal bodies appearing now may have come into contact with the primitive zombie virus from the very beginning. That strain is formidable—high infectivity, high replication, high targeting."

Yu Yao's brows furrowed slightly. "Does the City Lord know?"

"Yes." Dr. Zhang answered, leaning her lower back against the edge of the table as she turned to face Yu Yao. "We combed through every news report. The cases that were suppressed before the apocalypse fully erupted—oh, the ones reported as rabies or hemorrhagic fever—were all concentrated in one place."

Yu Yao raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"Lan City," Dr. Zhang said calmly. "The primitive virus might be there. Would Team Leader Yu care to take a look when he has time?"

Yu Yao let out a chuckle. "What, you're treating me and my teammates like bricks—move us wherever you need them? Sorry, but winter's almost here. We're not planning to go out."

He turned and headed for the door. Just as he pulled it open, Dr. Zhang called after him, "This is the last one. After this, we'll help you find your sister."

"Even if I don't go, you'd still have to find her," Yu Yao said coldly.

The door slammed shut behind him. He walked out, his expression calm as he passed the specimens soaking in the cultivation pods on either side—some mutated plants, but mostly zombies and human tissue.

Yu Yao disinfected himself at the entrance, then got into his car. On the road ahead, a vehicle drove toward him. He recognized the license plate, and he could see the man sitting in the back seat.

The man nodded at him with a gentle smile.

Yu Yao ignored him, started the engine, and headed home.

The streets were empty. Who would still be out at this hour?

After the apocalypse, family relationships and social order had long since collapsed. Many people advised Yu Yao that since he had already lost his memory, he should stop looking for some sister. After all, a girl all alone—her chances of survival weren't high.

But Yu Yao was going to find her.

He always felt that she was someone very important to him—so important that even when he was running a high fever and delirious, he would travel on foot just to go pick her up. To him, she should be the only family he had left.

Yu Yao couldn't remember his sister's name, appearance, or voice. Any memory of her had been erased.

But he had to find her.

He drove home. The elevator ascended all the way to the sixteenth floor. Yu Yao opened the door and changed his shoes. Only the entryway light was on in the living room.

He went into the bathroom and took a shower, changed into clean clothes. He didn't hear any movement from Yun Ying's room. He didn't know if the little girl had run off again. Yu Yao carefully twisted the door open.

Only the newly bought small lamp on the nightstand was on in the room. Yun Ying was asleep—she hadn't rested much these past few days on the road.

As long as she hadn't run off, it was fine.

He walked over, lowered his head, and kissed the tip of her nose. He'd snatched back such a treasure—every part of her was adorable. He was simply beside himself with fondness.

Yun Ying was wearing a loose round-necked sleep shirt. Because she was sleeping on her side, the collar had slipped down, revealing a patch of skin so white it made one's blood run hot. Yu Yao didn't want to be a creep. Suppressing the heat in his heart, he reached for the blanket to cover her.

On that soft, luminous white, the edge of a small dark spot was exposed. Yu Yao's movement paused. He narrowed his eyes, raised his hand to pinch the edge of the sleep shirt, and was just about to pull it down a bit—

"Yu Yao!" Yun Ying suddenly woke with a start and pressed down on his hand.
