Once it was over, Feng Mian was discarded on the floor like trash, his body covered in disheveled traces. Chi Mingzhou stood to the side, watching with cold eyes. He reached out to straighten his collar; aside from a thin layer of sweat on his forehead, he showed no signs of abnormality—he looked so composed that one could never tell what had just transpired.
He glanced at Feng Mian, who was unable to even crawl, and with a cold face, he let out a scoff before turning to leave the bedroom without the slightest hesitation.
Feng Mian curled up on the floor, trembling all over. He was completely delirious, blood trickling from between his legs, though it was difficult to make out clearly in the moonlight.
Chi Mingzhou was too lazy to even close the door when he left. Feng Mian looked at it powerlessly, attempting to crawl up several times, but to no avail.
The tiles were freezing cold, and the damp, gloomy chill of the room grew even more intense in the night air. Lying naked on the ground, Feng Mian felt the endless cold seep through his skin and into his body. He was drifting in and out of consciousness, feeling lightheaded and dizzy.
Squinting his eyes, Feng Mian managed to crawl over just enough to lock the door.
With a “click,” the door locked. Feng Mian tried to pull himself up to the bed, but his legs had completely lost all sensation. His mind was in total chaos, his consciousness seemingly being stripped away.
He closed his eyes powerlessly, losing consciousness entirely.
The room was damp and cold, yet Feng Mian, lying on the floor, was burning with a high fever; even the breath escaping his lips carried a scorching heat…
Early the next morning, the entire Chi family was already awake, waiting for the guest who was due to arrive.
Everyone in the Chi family, from top to bottom, knew that Chi Chen harbored feelings for someone—a man who was gentle, refined, and handsome, a true noble son.
The Gu family possessed a formidable background, and Gu Ziheng himself was incredibly capable. The Chi family was very supportive of Chi Chen’s infatuation with Gu Ziheng; not only would it allow him to be with the person he liked, but it would also benefit the Chi family. Now that Gu Ziheng had, for the first time ever, expressed his desire to visit, the Chi household had been preparing since dawn, everyone beaming with joy, hoping that Chi Chen’s affair would soon come to fruition.
The old matriarch looked at Chi Chen, who had dressed up specially for the occasion, and admonished, “Do not let that shameful thing from the Feng family show his face in front of Ziheng!”
Chi Chen nodded and said, “Grandmother, rest assured. I already told him last night; he wouldn’t dare cause trouble.”
If Feng Mian dared to ruin this for him, he would absolutely take half his life!
One was a toy for temporary amusement, while the other was the unattainable white moonlight of his heart; he knew which was more important.
Hearing his words, the old matriarch nodded in satisfaction.
Chi Mingzhou stood on the stairwell, his expression dark and inscrutable.
A cold, detached smile hung on the corner of Chi Mingzhou’s mouth. Hearing their conversation, he let out a scoff of disdain.
Gu Ziheng hadn’t come on this trip to see his foolish nephew…
A white Porsche pulled up outside the courtyard. Upon seeing it, everyone quickly rose and headed toward the door, with Chi Chen being the most excited of them all.
Chi Mingzhou remained motionless on the stairwell, watching with indifference as the figure stepped out of the car.
The man was dressed in a sharp suit, a faint smile on his clean face. He was tall and graceful, like a breath of spring breeze or a clear mountain spring. His approachable and elegant demeanor made it impossible for anyone not to feel a sense of goodwill and a desire to get close to him.
Chi Chen’s eyes brightened the moment he saw the man. “Ziheng.”
Gu Ziheng offered him a faint smile and a nod in greeting. “A-Chen.”
His eyes lowered slightly, his gaze sweeping carefully across the crowd of people who had come to greet him, as if searching for something.
His lashes were as thick as a folding fan, hiding the turbulence in his eyes; no one could detect the urgency within him.
The near-pathological obsession in his eyes almost burned his irises red.
Mianmian…
