[Hahaha, the production team is so good at arranging these love triangles. Why is Yu Mianmian still in the room?!]
[I suspect Teacher Sui Lin tidied the bed for Yu Ying last night, wanting Yu Ying to be stained with her scent, but didn’t expect Yu Ying to invite someone else to sleep with her. Sui Lin left, feeling wronged, holding the quilt.]
[Can the person above write a bit more? (Knocks bowl in anticipation)]
[Hahaha, this week’s popular CP ranking, the top spot should be Yu Ying X Sui Lin.]
On camera, Sui Lin had waist-length siLuer hair, wore a pure white dress, and stepped in black, thin, high-heeled shoes. Her red eyes could only be seen by Yu Ying; in front of the camera, her eyes were pitch-black, like a normal human.
The audience could not see how her siLuer snake tail slithered on the stairs, how it rubbed against Mother’s bedsheets, or how it coiled tight to kill its prey.
Sui Lin’s chest pressed tightly against the soft quilt, as if this could merge her with Mother’s scent.
“Sui Lin.” Yu Mianmian was waiting for Yu Ying in the shadows of the hallway, a cold smile curling her lips, her fingers twining through her light blue hair.
Standing beside her was a “person”—a clone derived from her main body. The other ‘Yu Mianmian’ stood to the side, slender tentacles obscuring her face, her aura melancholic.
“Does your mother know you are so dependent on humans?” Yu Mianmian leaned against the wall with her legs crossed, provocatively saying, “Need me to tell the Snake Clan that their powerful leader survives on the scent of a human?”
Sui Lin walked into the shadows. Her long, slender fingers gripped Yu Mianmian’s throat, the veins on the back of her hand bulging. She said word by word, “You. Are. Courting. Death.”
“I am just giving you a friendly reminder.” A flush appeared on Yu Mianmian’s face. She coughed violently, yet still didn’t forget to mock the stupid snake.
Sui Lin tightened her grip, lifting Yu Mianmian onto the wall without any effort; Yu Mianmian did not struggle.
The jellyfish clone was not like the octopus tentacles, where each tentacle had its own mind; the clone derived from the jellyfish had no consciousness and even had to bear injuries for the main body.
The clone jellyfish knelt on the floor in pain. The wounds on its body had just healed, and it could not withstand further damage. Its body slowly melted, turning into transparent jelly.
Yu Mianmian’s complexion was very poor; oxygen deprivation made her face flush red. She looked down at Sui Lin and laughed sinisterly: “Did I guess right? You really need the scent of a human?”
She said in a raspy, difficult voice: “She held me to sleep last night. To tell the truth, her scent is very pleasant.”
“It’s the same as your mother’s scent, right?”
How could the scent of an ordinary human attract supernatural species? There must be some inevitable connection. Without looking at Sui Lin’s expression, Yu Mianmian knew she had guessed correctly.
“Stay away from her.”
Sui Lin’s possessiveness was very strong; she did not like other species eyeing her prey, especially since Yu Ying possessed Mother’s unique scent.
Sui Lin’s snake tail coiled around Yu Mianmian’s entire body, squeezing her internal organs.
“You know, I’m not interested in humans.” Yu Mianmian’s lips seeped blood. “I only need you to help me find Mother.”
“Don’t think I don’t know you played tricks in the game space.” A malicious light flashed in Yu Mianmian’s eyes. “Tell me… if the supernatural octopus finds out you were the one who played tricks, do you think she will let you off so easily?”
Sui Lin slowly tightened her snake tail, the scales scraping across Yu Mianmian’s skin like a sharp blade slicing it into ribbons.
The snake’s diabolical plan had been accidentally discovered by Yu Mianmian, which made her very displeased. She coiled her tail around Yu Mianmian’s waist, slowly constricting.
Yu Mianmian laughed, revealing a sharp little canine tooth, two dimples appearing on her cheeks. “Help me find Mother, otherwise, you don’t even think about going back to the game world.”
Why should she be unable to find any clues about Mother while a certain stupid snake indulged in the gentle scent of a human?
Sui Lin had always looked down on Yu Mianmian—a monster that only knew how to cry and look for its mother was not qualified to be her teammate. But now, she saw Yu Mianmian squeezing her own tentacles until they popped, falling into a pool of blue blood, looking disheveled yet still stubborn.
Forget it, we are all children without a mother, why bicker with her? The snake dragged her tail back to her room, took out medicinal powder and shook it onto the bloody, mangled wounds. She gritted her teeth, cold sweat dripping from her forehead, and survived the pain by relying on Mother’s scent until she collapsed by the bedside.
Yu Mianmian dragged her blue-blooded body, stumbling back to the room next to Yu Ying’s. In the eyes of other monsters, she could not feel pain, but the dense nerve network on her tentacles caused the pain she perceived to be doubled.
Losing her tentacles meant losing her nerve network. Yu Mianmian was briefly blinded; she could not even distinguish direction and accidentally bumped into a warm, familiar embrace.
Yu Ying hadn’t eaten breakfast and was just about to go to the kitchen to cook when she collided with Yu Mianmian; the two bumped into each other squarely.
From Yu Ying’s perspective, Yu Mianmian was leaning weakly against her, her white dress stained with blue blood, and the third-floor hallway floor was also full of blood.
“Why are you injured again?” Yu Ying asked gently.
She discovered that the long, soft tentacles behind Yu Mianmian were gone. Her condition seemed to be improving.
During lunch break, the dating show stopped filming. Yu Ying opened the door and bent down to scoop up the unconscious Yu Mianmian.
Yu Mianmian’s hands crossed over Yu Ying’s neck, her cheek pressing against the hollow of Yu Ying’s neck, dropping scorching tears. Yu Ying placed Yu Mianmian down gently; even with her slight germaphobia, she allowed Yu Mianmian to soil her white sheets.
She sat on the edge of the bed to help Yu Mianmian take off her high heels. The shoes didn’t fit, rubbing Yu Mianmian’s heels raw and bloody; the blood was still light blue.
“It must hurt, right?”
Yu Ying pulled open the drawer, took out a bandage, and applied it to the wound. Yu Ying was not a classically trained actress; she had been discovered by her current agent due to her bone structure beauty and brought into the entertainment industry.
In those years when she was an extra, she would wear tight hairpieces and ill-fitting historical boots, running back and forth in 40-degree heat.
Because of the same experiences, they had both worn high heels that didn’t fit. Looking at the wound on Yu Mianmian’s heel, Yu Ying felt a pang of heartache.
Yu Ying gently pushed Yu Mianmian with her palm, but Yu Mianmian’s body was as soft as water, falling to one side with her back to Yu Ying. Yu Ying pulled the zipper at the back of the dress.
Yu Mianmian suddenly woke up, grabbing Yu Ying’s wrist, opening her mouth to bite Yu Ying’s hand again, covering the old tooth marks with new ones, as if leaving a special mark from Yu Ying.
“Your wound is bleeding; you’ll get the sheets dirty.”
Yu Mianmian had lost her sense of touch and knew nothing about the surrounding environment; she could only distinguish things by hearing.
Mother would also frown and say she was too dirty and would stain the sheets, scolding her not to fight with other supernatural anomalies in the future.
Mother’s embrace was very warm, Mother’s hands were very soft, and Mother’s gaze was very gentle. Just like now, watching her quietly.
Mother would put her into a bucket, lift her long, slender tentacles, and wash her over and over again with clear water.
Yu Mianmian grabbed Yu Ying’s palm, pressed it against her cheek, and looked at Yu Ying with eyes full of tears: “Mother, I’m so hungry.”
Yu Ying withdrew her palm, stood up to rummage for clothes in the wardrobe, and threw them onto Yu Mianmian’s head: “Change your clothes. I’m going to cook.”
Yu Ying walked out of the room and gently closed the door. She carried a bucket and a mop, mopping the dried ‘blood’ off the stairs floor by floor. When she reached the fourth-floor corridor, she saw a pile of light blue jelly squirming frantically.
She crushed the jelly with her fingertips, and a few small water droplets landed on them.
It was water, colorless and odorless.
Yu Ying began to face her own illness, organizing the messy thoughts in her mind and recording them in a memo.
April 6th:
I saw the tentacles behind Yu Mianmian disappear; her condition seems to have improved. I mistakenly thought Mianmian’s dress was stained with ‘blood,’ but while mopping the floor, I saw squirming jelly.
I know this sounds crazy, but that mass of jelly swallowed my finger. I crushed the jelly and discovered it was made of water.
Yu Ying squatted down and put a jar of blue jelly into a glass jar, stuffing it into her pocket. The jelly in the glass jar squeezed frantically against the bottle wall, pressing against Yu Ying’s palm.
She shook the jelly in the glass jar; it was somewhat similar to the baby jellyfish she had found.
Yu Ying finished recording her illness as usual. When she passed room 404, she heard a painful muffled groan. The sound was very light, but she caught it.
“Teacher Sui Lin, are you in there?” Yu Ying leaned her ear against the door and heard the sound of objects breaking inside. Worried about Teacher Sui Lin’s safety, she tried to ram the door open.
Suddenly, the door opened a crack. A snake tail lunged at Yu Ying. Yu Ying could not dodge it; the siLuer snake tail coiled around her waist and dragged her into the room, lifting her into the air.
Yu Ying could not imagine how Sui Lin could endure the damp, humid, sunless room; she could smell the moldy scent of old books.
Sui Lin lay weakly on the ground, her siLuer-white hair scattered. She held a golden goblet in her fingers, swirling the blood-red liquid inside. Her lips were even more vivid, her face even more enchanting, like a mandara flower dripping with sap.
Clang. Her wrist seemed boneless as she dropped the golden goblet. The goblet rolled to Yu Ying’s feet, the touch cold and hard.
Sui Lin sensed the existence of an alien species. Her snake tail silently slid into Yu Ying’s pocket, coiled around the glass jar, and lifted it high. Moonlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, shining onto the glass jar.
The ‘jelly,’ having lost the protection of its main body, feared the snake tail and huddled into one corner of the bottle, curled into a small ball.
“Give it back to me.” Yu Ying reached out her hand.
Sui Lin’s blood-red pupils stared at her. Her snake tongue licked her crimson lips, and there were a few drops of red liquid on her enchanting face, like a blood-red mole.
“Do you like fragile creatures too?” Sui Lin tilted her head to look at Yu Ying. Her expression showed no anger; her snake tail squeezed the glass jar, and the jar developed spiderweb-like cracks, instantly shattering.
The jelly, which had only been broken into a few pieces, was crushed into powder by the snake tail. The blue, crystal-like powder remained on the scales of the snake tail.
Yu Ying did not even know if that mass of jelly was real or just something she had hallucinated. The moment she saw the jelly being crushed, her heart tightened in pain.
She grabbed a dagger from the bedside table and stabbed it fiercely into the snake tail. The dagger pierced the tail, and blood splashed onto Yu Ying’s fair face.
The scales of the snake tail flipped outward, and blood gushed out. Yu Ying’s hands were covered in blood.
The illness that had been piling up all this time was vented at this moment. She pulled out the blade, thinking the snake tail she had hallucinated would disappear, yet the wound on the tail continued to gush blood.
Sui Lin grabbed Yu Ying’s wrist and pulled her into an embrace, like a young child returning to a mother’s arms. She felt the warmth on Mother’s body and did not want to push her away.
She reached out her fingers to wipe the blood off Yu Ying’s face, her movements incomparably chaotic and reckless: “You… can see my snake tail?”
Clang— The dagger in Yu Ying’s hand fell to the floor.
She realized that everything before her eyes was not a hallucination, but a reality. Teacher Sui Lin really had a snake tail. She wasn’t acting as a snake demon; she was a snake demon.
Yu Ying wiped the blood off her cheek, scooped up the jelly渣 (dregs/remnants) from the floor, and stood up in a panic, rushing out of the door.
What kind of world was this?
For the first time, Yu Ying had such a thought.
