Chu Yuan had always been a top-tier woman of action. Even though the roads were currently at the height of rush hour, she continued to speed along.

Her driving skills were actually quite excellent.

She had always possessed a wide range of hobbies. When she was a child, she loved to draw, her mother and her “Mommy,” Chu Mingshuang, were very supportive, enrolling her in all sorts of interest classes.Full novel: After The Divorce, My Ex-Wife Is Consumed By Regret — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Even when she graduated from high school and had to choose a major, her two mothers didn’t force her into business management just because there was a family industry to inherit. Instead, they let her follow her heart and continue studying art.

Growing up in such an encouraging and free spirited environment, she was far more liberated than the average person and had many more opportunities for “trial and error” in life. Even if she occasionally made the wrong choice at a crossroads, it wouldn’t have a catastrophic impact. After all, her mothers would always be there to provide a safety net.

Thanks to this environment, she didn’t just have an artistic hobby like painting, she also challenged herself with extreme sports. Diving, skydiving, bungee jumping, and racing, she had done them all at least twice.

She and Ji Xiran were “birds of a feather,” with highly overlapping interests. In fact, she had met Xue Qinghuan at a racing competition.

The car sped along. Before Yan Dai could reply to her message, Chu Yuan had already successfully reached the flower shop.

The shop owner stepped forward enthusiastically to introduce the latest varieties. But which flowers to choose? Chu Yuan fell into a state of indecision, she wanted to pick the very best.

Lilies were nice, but they had too much pollen, which might stain Sister Yan’s clothes.

Carnations were fine for a mother, but perhaps not suitable for one’s fiancée.

Daisies were cute and would look good in a bouquet, but the flowers were so small they might seem like she hadn’t put in enough effort.

Lisianthus was better as a filler flower; as for the main flower, she felt she shouldn’t consider it…

Chu Yuan had become extremely picky. It wasn’t as if she had never bought flowers for relatives or friends before, occasions like birthdays, graduations, or holidays required flowers all the time. She had even sent flowers to previous girlfriends.

However, in all those past instances, she had simply let the florist give advice or bought a ready-made bouquet. This was the first time she had been so conflicted. She was terrified that the choice wouldn’t be good enough or that Sister Yan wouldn’t like it.

Sister Yan deserved the best in the world.

Seeing her hesitation, the shop owner asked, “Little lady, who are you buying flowers for? Your mother or your girlfriend?”

“For the person I like,” Chu Yuan replied.

The owner immediately recommended. “Sunflowers are great! Their floral language is ‘silent love,’ which is perfect for a secret crush. Trust me, these are the most suitable.”

They’re okay, but sunflowers are a bit ugly, Chu Yuan thought. They don’t match Sister Yan’s aura.

She shook her head slightly. “Let’s try something else.”

“How about roses? Red roses are best for an official girlfriend,” the owner continued patiently.

Chu Yuan still refused. “Too many people give red roses.”

What if, on the day Sister Yan returned and she went to pick her up at the airport, other people were there to meet her too? If everyone pulled out red roses, it wouldn’t be unique at all. A gift for Sister Yan should be the best, the only, and the most unique.

“If you want unique, you could choose pink roses paired with some baby’s breath. We offer a DIY service here where customers can arrange their own bouquets,” the owner suggested.

Upon hearing she could customize it herself, Chu Yuan’s interest was piqued. She had sent flowers to many people, but this was the first time she would be arranging the bouquet herself. In the past, she would have found DIY work too troublesome. She rarely even visited flower shops in person, why would the eldest Miss Chu bother coming when she could just call a delivery service?

But now, with a different recipient, she didn’t find it troublesome at all. She was full of energy.

Chu Yuan nodded immediately. “That works.”

She set to work right away. The main flowers were pink roses, accented with baby’s breath, white lisianthus, eucalyptus leaves, and white amica flowers. She even carefully chose baby’s breath dyed in three colors, white, blue, and purple.

After nearly an hour of work, the bouquet was finally wrapped.

As she paid, the shop owner praised her, “You have great taste. It’s beautiful.”

“Thank you, Boss Sister.”

The shop owner beamed at being called “Sister,” her face lighting up with joy. “I’ll give you a discount!”

That wasn’t necessary. If there was one thing Miss Chu didn’t lack in this life, it was money.

The owner added, “You made the flowers so beautiful. When your girlfriend receives them today, she’ll be incredibly happy.”

Chu Yuan smiled. “Actually, she’s coming back tomorrow.”

But she truly looked forward to Yan Dai’s reaction. Would she gently pat her head and praise her? Just imagining that scene made Chu Yuan feel like she was about to have a nosebleed from the excitement.

If Sister Yan really patted her head… could she handle it? Ahahaha, she’d probably faint from pure bliss right then and there!

Chu Yuan was daydreaming again.

The shop owner’s expression shifted instantly. “Your girlfriend is coming back tomorrow?”

“Yes!”

“If you’re giving them tomorrow, the flowers won’t be as fresh. We usually recommend they be prepared and delivered on the same day.”

Oh, right.

Chu Yuan suddenly realized the problem. As soon as she heard the news that Yan Dai was returning tomorrow, she had been too happy to remember such a basic detail. The peak viewing period for fresh flowers was only one day.

Indeed, being too excited leads to mistakes, ugh.

But it was a minor issue. Chu Yuan quickly thought of a backup plan. “I’ll come back tomorrow.”

Brave Little Yuan fears no difficulty. She would treat today’s bouquet as practice. Since she had already arranged it once, it would be easier to do it again tomorrow.

The shop owner was stunned by her dedication. “Should I prepare it for you in advance tomorrow?”

As a professional florist, it wouldn’t be difficult to replicate the exact bouquet Chu Yuan had made.

But Chu Yuan rejected the offer without a second’s hesitation. “No, I’ll do it myself.”

The flowers for Sister Yan should, of course, be prepared by her own hands. She didn’t feel tired at all; rather, she felt it was an honor.

The shop owner couldn’t help but sigh again. “My, your relationship with your girlfriend is truly wonderful.”

Chu Yuan was the type of person who bloomed at the slightest bit of sunshine. Hearing the owner say this, if she had a little tail, it would probably be wagging high in the air right now.

She had already paid and could have left, but no, she had to stay and show off a bit more.

“She’s actually not my girlfriend yet, she’s my fiancée. We’re getting married soon.”

“My fiancée is very beautiful. She’s mixed-race, as stunning as a big movie star.”

“Our relationship? Oh, it’s great, of course. It was love at first sight for me…”

She bragged quite a bit, acting as if she were afraid people wouldn’t know she had such a wonderful fiancée. Only when her mouth felt dry did she finally stop, satisfied, and finalize the 8:00 AM appointment with the owner for the next morning.

Thinking she still had to get to the airport, she specifically chose an early time. Sister Yan’s flight shouldn’t be that early, she would definitely be able to make it regardless.

Afterward, Chu Yuan carried the DIY bouquet home. Since today’s flowers weren’t suitable to give away tomorrow, she would just take them home to her mothers.

On the drive home, Yan Dai finally replied.

Yan Dai: No need.

Two words again. She didn’t seem willing to reply with even one extra character.

When Chu Yuan saw this cold response, she couldn’t help but slam on the brakes.

Ah.

She was full of joy at the thought of picking up her “sister” from the airport, only to be rejected. She felt her heart breaking. She had just spent all that effort arranging flowers specifically to give to Yan Dai the moment they met.

Chu Yuan pursed her lips. She had just typed “Why?” on her phone when another message arrived.

Yan Dai: It’s not convenient.

There was no further explanation. These few words could be interpreted in many ways. Did “not convenient” mean it wasn’t a good time for Yan Dai to be picked up, or was she worried it would be inconvenient for Chu Yuan to make the trip?

Chu Yuan: Sister, is it inconvenient for you to buy a ticket? I can charter a plane to bring you back!

Chartering a plane for Yan Dai was easy, if necessary, she could even use her family’s private jet! However, even as she sent the message, Chu Yuan knew deep down that “inconvenient” didn’t mean that.

She just couldn’t think of any other possibility for the moment.

Could it be that Sister Yan simply didn’t want to see her? She was so looking forward to meeting again, did Sister Yan not feel the same? Or had this always been one sided?

Chu Yuan never let her emotions linger overnight. If she had a question, she would ask it. After a brief moment of dejection, she spoke up.

Chu Yuan: Sister, we haven’t seen each other since the last time.

Chu Yuan: Don’t you want to see me again tomorrow?

Chu Yuan: Are you sure you don’t want to see your future wife? (Kiss face emoji)

After sending several messages in a row, Chu Yuan picked out a particularly pretty selfie from her photo album and sent it over.

While teasing her future wife, she might as well use a little “beauty trap.” Most people couldn’t resist Chu Little Yuan’s peerless looks!
