The moment the two of them stepped outside the airport terminal, they spotted Chu Yuan’s e e-catching car parked not far away.

Although Yan Dai had never seen Chu Yuan’s car before, she instantly guessed that it belonged to her.

“You got your driver’s license?” Yan Dai asked.Full novel: After The Divorce, My Ex-Wife Is Consumed By Regret — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“I got it the moment I turned eighteen,” Chu Yuan replied, her tone carrying a faint, subtle hint of showing off.

But it was the endearing kind of showing off, the kind that felt a little smug yet playful.

Yan Dai nodded and reached her hand out toward Chu Yuan. “Give me the keys. I’ll drive.”

Chu Yuan didn’t budge. “Sister Yan, do you not trust my driving skills?”

Not only did she have a driver’s license, but she and quite a few of her friends were actually into racing. Her driving skills were top-tier!

“It’s not that,” Yan Dai turned her face slightly to look at her. “I just think driving while fatigued isn’t safe.”

With that, Yan Dai raised her hand and gestured vaguely toward Chu Yuan’s eyes from a short distance away.

“Dark circles,” Yan Dai added quietly, her voice entirely flat.

She delivered the line with complete nonchalance, entirely unaware of how earth-shattering those words were to Chu Yuan.

Chu Yuan came dangerously close to losing control and letting out a sharp, piercing shriek.

What? She had dark circles under her eyes?!

Meeting her goddess, only to do it while rocking dark circles? Waaaaah…

However, because her beloved goddess was right beside her, she managed to forcibly hold it in, desperate to stop her image from taking any further damage.

In the end, Chu Yuan sat in the passenger seat while Yan Dai took the wheel.

The moment Chu Yuan got into the car, she kept staring at the window, trying to use the reflection in the glass to check if she still looked pretty.

Chu Yuan rarely experienced appearance anxiety, in fact, she practically never did.

Right now, it couldn’t exactly be called appearance anxiety either, it was just that when facing a woman she liked, anyone would naturally care more or less about how they looked.

Because she had been looking forward to meeting Sister Yan today, she hadn’t been able to sleep well all night.

When someone doesn’t sleep well, their condition the next day is bound to be a bit off. That was why Chu Yuan had gotten up incredibly early this morning to meet with a stylist and put on light makeup, hoping to make herself look a bit more refreshed.

And yet, Yan Dai had still noticed her dark circles.

The flowers hadn’t been handled properly, the dark circles hadn’t been concealed, and so far on their very first “date,” not a single thing had gone right. Chu Yuan felt like it was absolutely pouring inside her heart.

She was on the verge of bursting into pathetic little sobs.

But then again, who was Chu Yuan? She was someone who refused to let herself wallow in a pity party for more than ten minutes.

Even with dark circles, she was still a natural beauty.

And so, while she had been despondent just a second ago, she completely rallied the next, her attention instantly stolen away by Yan Dai’s stunning looks.

Wow, her Sister Yan looks so beautiful when she drives.

A focused person at the wheel is always the most attractive.

At first, Chu Yuan only turned her head to steal a few glances. But as she kept watching, she inadvertently became completely mesmerized, forgetting all about maintaining a proper distance.

To make it easier to look, Chu Yuan rested her elbows on her knees and propped her chin up in her hands, settling into an incredibly comfortable position just to stare.

Sister Yan’s profile was truly flawless. She had a near perfect high cranial top, and her skull structure was beautifully rounded.

Her most striking feature was her nose. The bridge was high, but it wasn’t perfectly straight, there was a tiny, subtle bump at the midline, like a small Roman nose, which gave her an aura of cool elegance.

After marveling at Yan Dai’s near-perfect profile, Chu Yuan’s thoughts inevitably began to drift into wilder territory.

With a nose as high as Yan Dai’s, if they were to kiss in the future, they would probably have to tilt their heads to the side.

Chu Yuan’s gaze slowly drifted downward, landing on Yan Dai’s hands gripping the steering wheel.

Her fingers were slender and long with well-defined joints, an absolute masterpiece of a pair of hands. A pair of hands perfectly suited for a lesbian, and perfectly suited for…

Perfect for fingering a woman.

Hehe~ Chu Yuan was letting her imagination run wild again, her inner thoughts instantly turning thoroughly scandalous.

Just as Chu Yuan slammed her foot on the gas pedal of her mental racetrack, Yan Dai finally reacted.

Yan Dai stole a glance at her out of the corner of her eye. “Why do you keep looking at me?”

In truth, she had noticed a long time ago that Chu Yuan seemed to love staring at her.

From the very first moment Chu Yuan saw her today, the girl had seized every single opportunity to steal a glance.

Yan Dai figured that if she wasn’t mistaken, Chu Yuan’s distraction while walking at the airport, which had almost caused her to get bumped into, was likely because she had been busy staring.

Looking once or twice was an exception, but when it happened this frequently, it became a bit hard to ignore.

Yan Dai had endured it for a while, but in the end, she couldn’t hold back and asked the question that had been on her mind for ages.

Forced to abruptly slam on the brakes in her mental theater, Chu Yuan instantly beamed at her, her beautiful eyes crinkling into lovely crescents. “Sister Yan, you’re pretty, so I like looking at you.”

Yan Dai had anticipated several possible answers, but she hadn’t expected Chu Yuan to be so incredibly blunt.

Plenty of people praised her looks.

But Chu Yuan’s compliments seemed to carry quite a bit of personal affection.

It felt almost as if… she liked her.

The restaurant Chu Yuan had booked was Le Cinq.

It was a hidden gem tucked deep inside the Plaza Hotel, a place where the cost of a single meal was far beyond what an average person could afford.

Furthermore, money alone wasn’t enough. Dining here required a reservation made a month in advance, and one had to be a VIP member to even have the privilege to reserve a table.

As for Chu Yuan, she wasn’t a VIP, but the restaurant happened to be an establishment under her family’s corporate group. A single phone call was all it took for her to easily secure a spot.

The moment they arrived, the manager personally came out to greet them. He led them through the lobby, around a corner, and onto an elevator that took them straight to the seventh floor.

When the elevator doors opened, they stepped out onto an open-air rooftop restaurant that offered a panoramic view of the entire city’s night skyline.

The massive space was occupied by only the two of them. No one else would come to disturb them; it was strictly a private world for two.

It was currently dusk, and the sky hadn’t completely darkened yet. Once night fully fell and the city lights flared to life, it would look even more breathtaking and exceptionally romantic.

Chu Yuan felt that the dinner venue she had prepared today was perfect for a date, and surely nothing could go wrong here.

It should be enough to redeem her image a little.

Chu Yuan had originally planned to proactively pull out the chair for Yan Dai, but she never expected Yan Dai to move even faster.

Yan Dai pulled out the chair for her without making a single sound.

Just like that, Chu Yuan was effortlessly charmed all over again. The corners of her mouth curved upward, and she tried very hard to keep herself from giggling out loud.

Sister Yan is truly so gentle and attentive.

What should I do? I think I’m falling even harder for my Sister Yan.

Chu Yuan sat down. On the table sat a silver basket filled with a few complimentary pre-dinner breads. Chu Yuan had originally ordered fresh flowers to be placed on the table to add a bit of romantic ambiance, specifically requesting real flowers.

After all, real flowers were definitely more visually appealing and offered a delicate, natural fragrance.

However, on their way over, she had received a last minute notice to swap them out for pollen free, velvet faux flowers.

The waiter brought over the menus. Chu Yuan took them but didn’t order directly, instead passing one over to Yan Dai. “Sister Yan, you order.”

While she could have ordered in advance, doing it now wasn’t too late. Most importantly, she wanted to order entirely based on what Sister Yan liked to eat, she herself wasn’t a picky eater.

Chu Yuan added, “After all, I’m the one who promised to treat you, so whatever you like is what matters most. Order whatever you want.”

Since she had put it that way, Yan Dai stopped standing on ceremony and went ahead to order.

Yan Dai wasn’t someone who particularly enjoyed eating. After casually selecting two dishes, she genuinely didn’t know what else to pick.

She was about to leave it at that, but she suddenly recalled the contents of a WeChat Moments post she had seen last night.

It was Chu Yuan’s post.

In an instant, inspiration struck.

Yan Dai rattled off several dish names in one breath. “Roasted squab, raw marinated scallops, and a soufflé for dessert.”

The moment she finished speaking, Chu Yuan’s eyes lit up, and she praised her with genuine enthusiasm, “Sister, you really know your food! Have you eaten here before? The roasted squab here is absolutely incredible.”

“I’ve been here,” Yan Dai smiled politely, setting the menu aside. “But I haven’t tried those specific dishes before.”

She usually just ate whatever was available and couldn’t really distinguish high quality from low quality.

To her, eating was merely a way to stave off hunger.

She was probably exactly the kind of person people on the internet described as “someone who eats solely to stay alive.”

“Oh~” Chu Yuan continued to beam. “Then that’s such a coincidence! Every single dish you just ordered happens to be my absolute favorite.”

Sister Yan had never even eaten them before, yet on their very first date, she managed to order everything Chu Yuan loved.

If this wasn’t fate, what was!

She and Sister Yan were practically a match made in heaven!

Yan Dai let out a very soft laugh. “It’s not a coincidence. I ordered based on the photos in your WeChat Moments.”
