Suddenly, the lights inside the carriage flickered a few times, acting as if there was a loose connection, and then went out.

The spectacled young man was so scared that he hid behind Mu Li: “The lights are broken!”

“We aren’t blind; we can all see it.” Seeing the man looking so cowering, the redhead wore an expression of slight disdain. “Besides, you are a grown man hiding behind a student. This time, Mu Li looked at Pei Kanyan’s expression as if he were looking at a rare animal.

As a result, the flesh at his waist was heavily pinched.

The player shrank in an itch, desperately suppressing the corners of his mouth from curling upward, and chimed in: “Ahem, let us go check out the carriages ahead.”

Since the big boss wanted to play, how could they, his underlings, not cooperate?

Outside the train they were currently on, there was another train running parallel to it.

Calling it parallel wasn’t entirely accurate because the sides of the carriages were shared; looking out the window, one couldn’t tell the difference at all.

“Let us go.”

They arrived at the preceding carriage, where a sparse handful of passengers were sitting, and the lights flickered a few times here as well.

A muscular, sturdy man started complaining: “What is going on with these lights?”

The redhead pushed open the door ahead: “It looks like it is trying to drive us toward the front of the train.”

The other passengers also grabbed their luggage and followed them to the front. It seemed that only the lights in this carriage were fully functional.

All the passengers who had boarded were here now, making a total of eight people including them.

The sturdy man patted the door of the conductor’s cabin: “Hey, conductor, your lights are broken. You need to fix them.”

The train’s loudspeaker crackled with static, and a hoarse voice came through from it: “Passengers, please note. If you need to stop at the next station, please press the door-opening button.”

“This train isn’t right. I want to get off.” A girl was standing closest to the door, her expression looking somewhat panicked for reasons unknown, and she immediately pressed the red button.

Mu Li was too late to stop her.

However, the moment the button was pressed, nothing happened.

Instead, the door of the neighboring train actually opened, and it did so while the train was still in motion.

The passengers were all dumbfounded: “The train is moving at high speed! How dangerous is it for the door to open like that? Fortunately, that one is empty.”

As soon as those words fell, the lights on that train also began to flicker. After shifting between dark and bright, passengers appeared in the seats.

Yet upon closer inspection.

They were covered in knife wounds, missing arms and legs, and some were even cradling their own heads. Those weren’t humans at all!

The moment they appeared, they got up and walked toward the group, pressing their faces hard against the glass, wearing eerie smiles, and slowly waving:

“Come here, come here.”

This frightened the girl so much that she pounded frantically on the door:

“Stop the train! Stop the train! I want to get off!”

The others also wore looks of sheer terror and backed up several steps.

That spectacled young man collapsed directly to the ground, grabbing tightly onto Mu Li’s trouser leg and howling on the floor: “What do I do? Am I going to die?”

Mu Li grabbed his trouser leg: “If you are going to cry, just cry. Do not drag me down with you.”

Yet inwardly, he felt a wave of regret: why hadn’t he brought a camera? Such an interesting scene, and there was no way to record it.

It was truly a pity!

Meanwhile, the redhead stepped forward to block the others: “Don’t panic. They still cannot get over here.”

The girl wept bitterly: “A ghost train! We must have boarded a ghost train!”

As soon as those words came out, everyone panicked.

The sturdy man asked the girl: “Do you know something?”

Sobbing as she wiped away her tears, the girl wore a despairing expression on her face: “I only know that no one has ever gotten off this train alive.”

“Stop talking nonsense! Were those actors hired by the production team?” At this moment, a sharp-featured, rat-faced man grabbed the girl by the collar.

The redhead turned back, seized the rat-faced man’s wrist, and shoved him away with a push: “You can ask questions, but keep your hands to yourself.”

At that moment, the train slowly came to a halt.

As soon as the doors opened, everyone rushed out in a chaotic scramble.

“Hey, do not get off yet. I will go scout the way first,” the redhead tried to stop them.

Yet no one listened to him, terrified that lagging behind a step would mean being torn apart by ghosts.

Mu Li took a look: the station was still that same Zhunan Station, but right now it was desolate and dreary, without a single shadow of a person.

The spectacled young man’s glasses were crooked as he asked timidly and fearfully: “Are we getting off?”

The redhead looked at the three of them left in the train, pondered for a moment, and finally decided: “Let us get off.”

The moment Mu Li stepped onto this platform, he opened his mini-map.

His current location and the previous station’s two small dots completely overlapped, yet they weren’t on the same plane at all.

He immediately raised his head and said: “Stop them!”

There was no one inside the station, but the street outside the station was bustling with people and bathed in bright sunlight. Thinking they would be safe once they reached the crowd, the others hurriedly sprinted toward the outside of the station.

“You cannot go out there.” Hearing Mu Li’s words, the redhead reacted immediately, swiftly stepping forward to block the path of the crowd.

Yet no one listened; instead, they began to question him.

“Are you in cahoots with those ghosts?” Seeing that they were about to escape this terrifying place only to be blocked and prevented from leaving, the rat-faced man shoved hard against the redhead.

The redhead let out a muffled grunt and was pushed back several steps.

The others chimed in right along with him: “That is right! Why will you not let us out?”

“Going out means death.” Mu Li walked over and swept a glance over these NPCs.

The rat-faced man ignored him, shoved past the redhead and ran, missing only a single step to clear the station platform.

The redhead pulled a doll out from his trouser pocket.

With a retraction of his hand, the rat-faced man instantly stopped dead in his tracks, then stumbled backward on his own.

“What did you do to me?” Unable to control his own limbs, the rat-faced man stared in horror at this scene.

Mu Li walked over with a fascinated look on his face: “Did you just make this doll yourself? I want one too!”

The redhead paused, then silently pulled a doll that looked very much like a player out of his upper pocket.

The doll’s bean-shaped eyes were adorable and cute, practically a miniature carbon copy of the player.

Mu Li let out a huge “Wow”: “I never expected someone with such a fierce and menacing look like you to actually like dolls.”

Upon hearing this, the redhead looked so ashamed and furious that even his ears turned red. Putting on a bluff, he demanded: “So what? So what? I like them, what of it?”

“I like them too!” Mu Li shook the doll in front of the redhead’s face. “Can I have this?”

Seeing the youth holding his doll like some precious treasure, treating it as something he couldn’t bear to part with, the redhead’s momentum instantly deflated, and he rubbed the back of his head with considerable embarrassment.

“Not right now. I will make you one once we get out.”

Yet the moment he thought about how the youth seemed to have no tomorrow, he stammered: “I will definitely make you the most exquisite one and burn it for you.”

The last few words were so soft they were practically inaudible.

“What did you say?”

While feeling puzzled, Mu Li reluctantly returned the doll to the redhead.

No rush; once his bond was maxed out, he could have as many as he wanted.

Seeing the redhead pinch the doll and instantly render the rat-faced man completely uncontrollable, the rest realized this person was definitely no ordinary individual, and they were too terrified to step forward.

“Who on earth are you?”

“Me?” The redhead straightened his posture, proudly lifting his chin. “My name is Feng Yi, just an ordinary employee at a cleaning company.”

Who on earth would believe that?

How could an ordinary person possess such superhuman abilities?

Yet Mu Li had a sudden realization: “Wow, a cleaning company! Could it be that the whole company is made up of spirit-exorcising masters?”

Before he could finish, his mouth was covered by Feng Yi.

“Do not let it slip.”

One look from Mu Li made it clear he understood.

The two of them seemed to have reached a tacit understanding.

Feng Yi turned around and hurled a silver chain outward, causing the scenery outside to distort.

Too scared to go outside anymore, the crowd suddenly noticed a pair of shoes inside the station, as if someone were sitting beside a pillar. They walked up to take a look.

It was a pile of white bones!

Everyone was frightened to the point of losing all color in their faces.

The person’s clothes had already rotted away, making their gender indistinguishable, and there was a bag sitting beside them.

Mu Li wanted to go rummage through it, but was pulled back by the spectacled young man, who trembled against the player’s shoulder: “I am so scared! Are we going to end up just like this person?”

“Do not talk nonsense, you man!” Upon hearing this, the girl flew into a rage and turned to vent her anger on the cowardly male.

Scolded, the spectacled young man cried even harder against Mu Li’s shoulder, acting just like a little newlywed wife who had suffered grievances outside, pointing a finger while weeping: “She is yelling at me!”

“Fine, fine, then we will not pay attention to her.”

Mu Li felt an itchy sensation near his neck and wanted to push him away, but was restrained by an immense force.

Player: “…”

Just whose wife is this tall anyway!

Meanwhile, Feng Yi squatted down and began rummaging through the bag, finding a press card inside along with a slip of paper.

“A man wielding a small knife rushed into the station and stabbed a pregnant woman…” The remaining words were blurred and indistinguishable.

The spectacled young man poked his head out, his voice shaking: “So people have died on this train.”

“Obviously,” Feng Yi put away the notes. “Only heaven knows how many died.”

At that moment, a series of clicking sounds rang out, sounding exceptionally clear in the empty station, giving everyone a start.

They watched as a train slowly stopped in front of them and opened its doors.

Why is it this ghost train again?!

Not a single person dared to board.

“If the train leaves and never comes back, we will be trapped in this station forever. There is no food here, and our fate will likely end up just like that reporter’s.”

Feng Yi made a motion toward the train, then added: “Do as you please.”

Mu Li looked toward the spectacled young man and, realizing the guy wanted to keep acting for a bit longer, forcefully dragged him onto the train.

The remaining few looked at the reporter’s skeleton, then back at the train which no longer had any ghosts in sight, and decided to follow along.

After all, that man possessed some strange abilities; perhaps he really could protect them.

Yet the moment Mu Li boarded the train, he didn’t find the traces of the others anywhere.

Why did this feeling feel so familiar?

Taking a look at the neighboring train, all seven people were over there, leaving only Mu Li in a carriage all by himself.

Oh ho, is this train targeting players?

Counting eight people boarding only to find one missing, they were so shocked they almost retreated back to the platform: “Where is the other person?”

“I am on the opposite side.”

Mu Li tapped on the window, startling the girl into a shriek.

Feng Yi frowned, looking through the window at the youth: “Why are you over there?”

Ghost passengers had appeared on that train, and Feng Yi couldn’t sit still any longer; he picked up a nearby fire extinguisher hammer, intending to smash the window.

The rat-faced man wore a gloomy expression: “Quickly stop him! If the window breaks, the ghosts can get in here too.”

Realizing this, the others hurriedly stepped forward to grab the redhead’s arms.

“Let go of me!” Feng Yi tried to break free, but they kept a sharp eye out to prevent him from taking out his doll.

He possessed quite a bit of strength, but now there were five people holding him back, not to mention a fitness trainer among them.

Oh, and the remaining spectacled young man was cowering in the corner, hugging his head as if frightened out of his wits.

“It is fine. Those ghosts cannot hurt me yet.” The youth wore an expression of complete fearlessness.

Unable to break free for the moment, Feng Yi warned: “If the ghosts come, push them into the back carriage and lock the door. That can hold them off for a while.”

He knew this youth had extraordinary traits, or else Pei Kanyan wouldn’t have sought him out, but the youth was very weak right now. Who knew what might happen?

At that moment, the loudspeaker sounded again:

“As the conductor, let me kindly remind you: there is a door-opening button on the train. Once it is pressed, the doors of the opposite train will open.”

The sturdy man pressed down on the redhead’s arm while saying: “The one who opened the door before was indeed the opposite train.”

And the ghost passengers would enter the train through the open doors!

Pinned to the floor, Feng Yi shouted: “Do not press it!”

The conductor spoke up once more, delivering a cruel reality to them: “If you do not press it, the doors of this train will open.”

Terror instantly surfaced across everyone’s expressions.

The conductor’s sharp laughter echoed throughout the train: “Do you choose to let him die alone, or do you choose to let all seven of you die?”

Feng Yi let out a roar to the heavens: “Neither! Let me go right now!”

Yet when he looked up, the expressions on the other passengers’ faces had all begun to waver.

“There is only one of him, but there are seven of us…”
