The Alpha had a low, sexy, and magnetic voice, not one that was artificially deepened.
“Why did you leave? I… hey!”
The Alpha who had been fawning over the Omega before hadn’t even finished speaking, but the door had already been shut. The tightly closed door hid the sight of the person who had left in such a hurry.
It was 2:30 AM.
Outside the luxurious European-style villa, a black Maybach screeched to a halt. Inside the car, the tall Alpha opened the door and hurried into the villa.
He Yushen went straight upstairs and entered the bedroom. The room was shrouded in darkness, but a pervasive scent of milk candy rushed out to meet him. It was quiet, save for the faint rustling of clothing.
He Yushen placed his hand on the light switch on the wall. In an instant, the room was bathed in bright light. As he illuminated the space, his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down a few times.
The person in the center of the bed was visibly gasping for breath. Their face was flushed a deep, intense red, and most of their neck and chest were exposed to the air. Their forehead and chest were covered in a layer of sticky sweat, and their eyes were filled with the crystalline sheen of unfulfilled desire. One of their delicate hands was bitten red, while the other was tucked inside their clothing.
He Yushen stood by the door, closing it firmly behind him. The scent of peppermint began to radiate from the back of his neck.
The person on the bed opened their clouded eyes and glanced in his direction. His heart seemed to skip a beat.
“You cannot solve it like this.”
He Yushen lowered his body, approaching the person on the bed. In their haze, the person frowned and dodged his touch. He hesitated, his hand hovering in the air.
“Do not be temperamental at a time like this. Playing hard to get should not be used in a situation like this.”
He Yushen pulled the person into his arms. But the moment he got close, the person on the bed knitted their brows and pushed against him with weak hands. He Yushen frowned, forcefully pulling the person into his embrace, and ripped his outer coat off.
Magically, once the coat was discarded, the person in his arms began to burrow into him of their own accord.
“Do you dislike the smell of my clothes?” He Yushen chuckled softly. “You dislike other Omegas being near me so much; do you like me that much?”
“Then, I will reluctantly satisfy you.”
His low, seductive, and sexy voice held no trace of reluctance.
The bedside lamp was switched off, and the room was filled with thick peppermint scent mixed with a faint, sweet, and cloying aroma. It came in waves, like ocean tides, rolling, rising, falling, and crashing against the shore, continuing until the break of dawn before finally settling into tranquility.
Nan Yi slept until the afternoon. The soreness throughout his body and his dry, slightly aching gland left him unable to get out of bed. The events of last night were vivid in his mind. Having regained some clarity, he found himself caught between an unbearable intensity and an aching craving. He wanted to resist while awake, but he had no choice but to succumb.
“Awake?”
He Yushen’s movement in pushing the door open was somewhat gentle, but when he saw the wide-eyed, dazed gaze from the bed, his movements turned rough. The door slammed shut with a “bang.”
The person on the bed was startled back to reality.
“Eat something.”
There was a small bowl of porridge on the table beside the bed. Nan Yi was already so hungry he lacked the energy to move, but when he tried to sit up, even the slightest movement was painful.
“Tsk.”
A muscular, firm arm reached behind his back, lifting him slightly. A pillow was placed behind him, cushioning his sore, soft waist. The Alpha before him seemed more attentive than he had imagined.
He held out the bowl of porridge. “Do you still want me to feed you?”
At the sound of his dissatisfied, deep voice, Nan Yi quickly took the bowl.
Nan Yi ate the slightly hot porridge in small mouthfuls. The person beside him sat in a chair, his gaze never leaving him. This stare made him uncomfortable, so he kept his head bowed and remained quiet throughout the meal.
He Yushen stared at those pink, tender lips, which would occasionally pucker to blow on the porridge or reveal a small tip of the tongue, and his brow furrowed deeply. Not only was it a shame that those lips did not make a sound, but the little fellow had even passed out halfway through the activity last night, which he had barely noticed. If those lips could speak, they would surely have a very sweet voice. Or perhaps, a somewhat cool and distant one.
“Is your throat naturally like that?”
Nan Yi stopped eating the porridge and slowly shook his head.
“Then what caused it?” He Yushen asked.
Nan Yi placed the empty bowl on the table and fished his phone out from under the pillow. When he unlocked it, the screen still displayed last night’s text message page. The string of numbers, which was not familiar, was not Xiao Wang’s.
He had sent the message to the wrong person.
The sentence “I am in my heat period” looked so blindingly bright now. But it was too late; after all, it was not the first time.
He returned to the phone’s home screen and opened his notes.
“Drowned when I was a child.”
He Yushen stared at the words in silence for a long time. Nan Yi continued to hold the phone up.
“How did you drown? Swimming?” He Yushen frowned slightly. As long as it was not a congenital inability to speak, there was always a possibility of recovery.
The person on the bed turned pale, biting their lip tightly and shaking their head.
“Then what was it?”
He Yushen felt somewhat displeased, his tone tinged with impatience. Nan Yi kept shaking his head. He Yushen stared at him for another long moment.
“Your heat period will last for several days. Your body is too weak, and you cannot rely on me to solve it every single time.”
A tube of suppressant appeared in front of Nan Yi. The empty bowl on the table was taken away, and He Yushen stood up and left the room.
After eating a little, Nan Yi fell back onto the bed in exhaustion and drifted off into a restless sleep. When he woke again, it was already evening, and his body was beginning to feel feverish again.
Nan Yi was now able to get out of bed slowly. He picked up the suppressant from the drawer and injected it into his gland. The effect was immediate; his body gradually returned to normal.
Feeling uncomfortable because he had not brushed his teeth, he went straight into the bathroom instead of going downstairs. Facing the mirror, he could finally see that his body was covered in pink marks like flower petals.
After washing up, Nan Yi found a high-collared gray sweater to put on before stepping into his little rabbit slippers to go downstairs. Even at the top of the stairs, he could smell the fragrance of food, which stirred his appetite.
“Is your body feeling better?”
Nan Yi ignored the Alpha. He wondered how He Yushen had heard his footsteps when they were so light and he was still so far away.
“Is Mr. Nan sick?”
Song Jing heard He Yushen’s words and asked with concern. He followed He Yushen’s gaze; the person walking down the stairs was pale, flushed, and moving somewhat awkwardly.
The smile on Song Jing’s face stiffened as he stared at the small patch of pink skin faintly visible at the collar. The chopsticks in his hand were gripped tight, his eyes filled with hatred.
“Come over and eat.” He Yushen glanced at the person coming down the stairs.
Song Jing’s hand tightened further. He could not let Nan Yi and He Yushen continue like this. The Omega might become pregnant at any time, and He Yushen’s attitude toward him had started to change.
Song Jing knew he could not sit idly by anymore. But fortunately, his birthday was coming soon.
