Nan Yi looked up and immediately collided with a pair of dark, inscrutable eyes. He subconsciously held his breath and stared blankly for a few seconds before a blush slowly crept across his face.
He Yushen had not expected that the moment he opened the door, he would be bumped into by a soft head.
The omega’s slender eyes were filled with crystal-clear moisture, and his face was visibly turning red.
With his head bowed, afraid to look up, the omega’s ear tips had turned pink, and his hands were nervously clutching the hem of his shirt.
“What are you doing?”
Nan Yi, who had been bracing himself for He Yushen’s anger, froze for a moment and shook his head gently.
A few seconds later, he slowly raised his head and tentatively glanced behind He Yushen. The door gap was narrow, making it difficult to see much, so he shifted his body to the side to get a better view.
He Yushen saw the omega’s little scheme at a glance. His lips curled up slightly as he extended his left hand.
Nan Yi’s cheek suddenly touched a warm palm, blocking his attempt to peek. A faint scent of mint drifted into his nose, and Nan Yi froze.
He Yushen stared expressionlessly at the embarrassed omega.
“Nan Zhaimin did not come up,” he stated coldly.
The heart that had just been pounding in Nan Yi’s chest settled slightly.
Standing so close, the omega’s fair nape was clearly visible, and a subtle, sweet scent lingered in the air between them. He Yushen’s expression darkened, and his calm face now held a hint of disgust.
The alpha’s tone was filled with dissatisfaction, and his eyes looked at Nan Yi with disdain.
“I really underestimated you,” a cold, emotionless voice came from above.
Nan Yi looked up, bewildered.
The warm palm slid from his cheek to his delicate chin and gradually tightened. Nan Yi was forced to raise his head to meet the alpha’s gaze.
He Yushen’s expression now was like the calm before a torrential storm. The veins on the back of his hand bulged, and red marks were pressed into Nan Yi’s fair, delicate chin.
“In heat whenever and wherever; you really are cheap.”
In immense pain, Nan Yi raised his hand to pry away the fingers gripping him.
Before his hand could even fully rise, it was captured and pinned above his head, and his back slammed against the cold wall.
“Ah!” The combination of the pain in his back and the pressure on his jaw forced a hoarse cry from his throat.
“What? Are you afraid Nan Zhaimin will take you away, so you are trying to seduce me into letting you stay?” The eagle-like eyes glared fixedly at Nan Yi. With the two of them so close, the faint scent of mint wafted into Nan Yi’s nostrils.
A sensation of numbness and heat washed over his entire body, and Nan Yi stiffened, not daring to move.
His face had turned pale with fear. Under the pressure of the alpha’s pheromones, his nape began to feel uncomfortable.
He Yushen’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Even though the scent of milk candy was not overwhelming, He Yushen’s gaze shifted.
“Wearing a pure-looking face while doing such vulgar things. I overestimated you.”
Nan Yi was already feeling feverish, his mind blurred. He felt the terror of his heat returning; his mind was now filled with nothing but that singular craving, longing for the suppressive pheromones.
An omega who has been marked is truly dependent on their alpha.
“Damn it.”
He Yushen looked at Nan Yi with irritation. The scent of the pheromones grew stronger, and just like last night, he reacted instantly.
He pulled the scorching body into his arms, letting wet hair dampen his shirt.
He stared at the fair nape for a long moment.
His Adam’s apple bobbed several times, and he lowered his head.
“Ah.” The hoarse voice sounded again.
The uncomfortable feeling subsided significantly, and the weak legs regained some strength. Like a withered flower being watered, he was reborn, and his tear-filled eyes became clear once more.
“Young Master He, should I bring them up now?”
The butler’s steady voice came from downstairs. Nan Yi frantically pushed against the alpha’s strong, solid chest.
“Wait.” The low, slightly raspy voice carried a warm breath that brushed against his nape, making Nan Yi’s body shudder uncontrollably.
The hand gripping his shoulder pulled away, and then his right hand was grabbed. He Yushen turned and roughly pulled him toward the bedroom.
“Ah.”
Realizing what was happening, Nan Yi tried to use his hoarse voice to beg the alpha to let him go.
After a few steps, they reached the bedroom, and Nan Yi was thrown onto the bed with great force.
“Stay here and behave. Don’t go around spreading your pheromones to seduce people.”
With a “bang,” the bedroom door was shut again, leaving Nan Yi alone.
Nan Yi climbed up and stared blankly at the closed door.
He wanted to find Nan Zhaimin, but with the pheromones all over him right now, it did not seem appropriate.
Nan Yi hesitated as he stared at the door. After a few seconds, he climbed off the bed.
He pushed open the bedroom door and locked eyes with the person standing outside. Song Jing was wearing a velvet robe, the collar wide open, and the scent of vanilla pheromones drifted into the room.
Seeing Nan Yi, his complexion turned ashen as he glared at Nan Yi’s neck.
Song Jing’s chest heaved continuously, and he looked at Nan Yi as if he were an enemy.
“Brother Shen marked you!” Song Jing gritted his teeth, looking as if he could not believe it.
Nan Yi did not have the energy to deal with him. He reached out with hands that were still weak to push away the person blocking his path.
“You are not worthy of being marked by Brother Shen.”
Song Jing seemed unable to handle the provocation and shoved Nan Yi violently.
The sudden force pushed Nan Yi backward. He slammed into the bedroom as the half-open door was knocked further aside, falling to the floor. Even through the carpet, his head throbbed from the violent impact.
“A low-quality Omega is not worthy! You bitch!” Song Jing seemed to have lost his mind, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Nan Yi on the floor.
Nan Yi stared coldly at the person looking down at him and slowly felt his way up to stand.
Unexpectedly, the person who had just been spewing verbal abuse suddenly acted as if possessed; he walked over, crouched down, and put on a face of concern.
“Mr. Nan, why did you fall? Let me help you up.” His tone was sweet and worried, yet the hypocrisy made Nan Yi feel nauseated.
Nan Yi’s face darkened, and he impatiently pushed away the hypocritical Song Jing who was half-crouching in front of him.
“Ah!” Song Jing shrieked.
He fell to the floor in the same way, his head hitting the ground.
Nan Yi stood up with a cold face and stared at the person on the ground as if he were a clown. Before he could step across the threshold, a cold, sharp voice interrupted his movement.
“What are you doing?” He Yushen stood where Song Jing had just been, frowning as he cast a glance at Nan Yi.
Nan Yi finally understood why Song Jing had suddenly changed his expression.
“Brother Shen,” Song Jing said, looking aggrieved.
He stood up as laboriously as an elderly man.
He Yushen bent down and pulled him up.
“What is going on?” He Yushen asked, frowning as he looked at Nan Yi.
Nan Yi stared at him in silence.
Tears welled up in the corners of Song Jing’s eyes as he said aggrievedly, “I was just passing by and saw Mr. Nan fallen on the floor. I was kind enough to help him up, but who would have thought that he would do this?”
He Yushen’s expression grew even gloomier. He said coldly, “Do you have any complaints?”
Song Jing replied, “Mr. Nan, are you still upset about the clothes? I did not blame you. If you want to wear that one in the future, just feel free to take it from my room.”
After saying this, the person standing beside He Yushen hid behind him, as if Nan Yi were some kind of monster.
Nan Yi did not want the two of them to delay his plans, so he tried to walk around them. The moment he moved, Song Jing hid behind the alpha again, looking terrified.
He Yushen’s arm was tightly clutched by Song Jing; as Nan Yi moved, the hand holding him trembled slightly.
He turned his head and comforted the omega beside him in a low voice, “Xiao Jing, go back to your room first.”
Song Jing gave a dejected “Oh” and stumbled back a few steps.
“Ugh.”
Before he had even walked two steps, he let out a soft moan and stopped.
He Yushen walked to his side nervously, asking, “What is wrong?”
Song Jing replied, “I think I sprained my ankle.”
Nan Yi watched the two of them in the hallway with cold eyes, watching as He Yushen crouched down and picked the omega up in a bridal carry.
