“Then… do you want me to be afraid of you?” Su Meng paused her movements upon hearing Ji Weichen’s words, looking up to ask him.
Hearing this question, Ji Weichen instinctively tightened his grip slightly.
Before he could respond, Su Meng continued speaking.
“If you don’t want me to be, then I won’t be.” As she spoke, Su Meng took the sharp object from Ji Weichen’s palm. The thing he had been holding so tightly was easily taken away by her.
“Do you want… me to forgive and spare him?” Ji Weichen asked.
Just as Ji Weichen finished speaking, the man lying on the ground in the alley seemed to see a glimmer of hope for survival. He saw the young girl who had arrived, her face full of naive innocence and kindness – clearly a soft-hearted rich young lady.
Dragging his injured leg, he painstakingly crawled toward Su Meng, shouting loudly at her.
“Quick, young lady, save me, call the police!” the man cried out.
No sooner had he spoken than he met Su Meng’s gaze. Her eyes appeared pure, with pitch-black pupils that seemed bottomless. A friendly smile curved her lips as she tilted her head.
“No, let’s do something bad together,” Su Meng said to Ji Weichen, answering his question.
[???] 666, who had been waiting for Su Meng to persuade Ji Weichen to return good for evil.
“?” The man who had been begging Su Meng for help.
Not only was she not persuading him, but she was actually abetting the evildoer!!
[66, look, you said I need to change his hatred-filled thoughts, make him return good for evil, become kind and gentle and harmless. I can’t change the storylines. So… wouldn’t it be fine if we just eliminate all his enemies?] Su Meng said.
[But you can’t change the storylines! In the story, Ji Weichen hasn’t eliminated them at this stage yet, and he can’t…] 666 tried hard to sort out the logic in its response.
[So I’ll be the one to do it. Is there a problem with that?] Su Meng retorted, with an expression that clearly said “you’re really stupid.”
[…] Listening to Su Meng’s logic, 666 felt it was both right and wrong. The mission was gradually becoming strange.
Kneeling down, Su Meng looked at the man lying on the ground. She took a black handgun from her bag and pressed it against the man’s forehead. Her eyes were pitch black, filled with excitement, as if she was about to start an interesting game with the man.
“I’ll give you ten seconds to escape, and then… bang…” Su Meng waved the gun in her hand, making an onomatopoeic sound that scared the man so much he trembled, his face turning pale instantly.
Forgetting that his leg injury prevented him from walking, he desperately crawled toward the other end of the alley.
“Ten…”
“Nine…” Su Meng counted down, holding the gun as she walked forward, having Ji Weichen hold the corner of her clothes as he followed closely behind.
“…”
“Three…”
“Two…” Su Meng’s voice was like a death knell.
The man felt as if Death was following him with a scythe, not striking directly but constantly hanging over his head, about to fall but not falling. The urgency made it impossible to think. The dark muzzle of the gun seemed ready to take his life at any moment.
Thump, thump, thump…
His heart pounded wildly. The man fled in panic until Su Meng reached the final count.
“One…” Su Meng said.”Thump…” The man fell straight into a large hole at the alley entrance. With a sickening crack, his joints fractured, leaving him writhing and screaming in pain on the ground.
“Bang…” Su Meng raised her gun with a sweet smile, her voice soft and sugary.
The man shuddered, only to feel a stream of cold water hit his forehead.
Looking up, he met Su Meng’s deceptively innocent and gentle face.
“You… you tricked me…” The man’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Eh, did I ever say it wasn’t a water gun? Uncle, you’re really foolish. We’re just children—how can you trust what children say?” Su Meng rested her chin in her hand, blinking innocently at him.
Hearing this, the man’s face flushed crimson with rage. His blood boiled so violently he nearly choked on his breath.
Damn it, he’d been completely fooled by that face—he must have been blind.
What kind of devil was she?
“You shouldn’t dirty your hands so casually. There are plenty of ways to make someone’s life a living hell without resorting to that,” Su Meng said, glancing at the little cub beside her.
“Mm.” Ji Weichen nodded obediently.
“Lean your head over,” Su Meng instructed Ji Weichen again.
“A reward?” Ji Weichen obediently tilted his head forward, looking confused as he instinctively asked.
“Wrong. A punishment.” Su Meng flicked Ji Weichen’s forehead. Though not too hard, it left a faint red mark.
“This is for hurting your hand. Your hands are beautiful—I like them. Don’t let them get injured or dirty again,” Su Meng stated firmly.
Hearing her words, Ji Weichen subtly withdrew his hands.
He would remember.
…
At the police station.
“Is what you’re saying true?” An officer holding a notepad asked with a grave expression.
“Yes, he… followed us into the alley. He… said some disgusting things to me, and he even tried to…” Su Meng’s face was pale, one hand pressed to her chest as if she were unwell. She looked as fragile as glass, lips pressed tightly together before she turned her face away after catching her breath.
“Uncle, please make sure everyone close to him knows about this. I was lucky to escape this time, but what if there’s a next? At the very least, those around him should be warned…” Su Meng lifted her gaze, brows furrowed with apparent concern.
“Alright, I understand. We’ll make sure no one else gets hurt. Don’t worry—you’re safe. It was self-defense, you’re both young, and besides, he fell and injured himself,” the officer reassured her gently before turning to glare sternly at the man who had been hauled out of the hole.
The man was covered in wounds, one leg impaled by glass and swollen like a giant radish, the other leg broken, and one arm hanging limply at his side. He looked utterly miserable.
Especially when he caught sight of Su Meng—his face twisted into a vicious snarl.
[Host, what will his fate be?] 666 inquired.
[Utter ruin. Someone who uses rumors to destroy others will himself be destroyed by rumors, unable to defend himself. Isn’t that amusing?] Su Meng replied.
[…Host, is it really appropriate to teach Ji Weichen this way? You should be instilling positive, uplifting values in him—like the warmth and love in this world, not…] 666 cast a pitying glance at the man.”But 66, I grew up relying on these—I only know how to exploit, scheme, and seek revenge,” Su Meng said.
“How am I supposed to teach him warmth and love?”
