The room fell into complete silence. After struggling for his last breath, the man collapsed entirely onto the floor, his eyes wide open. One of them was pierced through, a bloody mess—he likely never expected such an end. His lips were purplish-blue, clearly poisoned.
It was evident that the one who struck was ruthless and merciless.
Su Meng turned her gaze to Ji Weichen. He was only seven or eight years old, excessively thin and malnourished, with pale skin that gave him a somewhat gloomy appearance. He wore only a simple white short-sleeved shirt, now dotted with specks of bloodstains like scattered decorative flowers.
It was the blood from Su Meng’s palm.
He had a pair of exquisitely shaped peach blossom eyes, still childish and not fully matured, giving off a soft, youthful impression. His pupils were a light brownish-green.
His body was covered in scars, fresh blood seeping from his abdomen. Most people his age would have long been unable to bear the pain, screaming out in agony. Yet, he endured in silence, as if pain had become an ingrained part of him, leaving him numb.
Ji Weichen’s eyelashes were long, his lips thin and red, as if painted with blood, carrying a hint of eerie charm. He resembled a defiant young beast, with nearly every exposed patch of skin marked by wounds—some old, some new.
He looked as though he could tear apart anyone who dared approach him at any moment.
Hmm… it seemed…
It made one want to tame him.
Undoubtedly, that would be an immensely challenging endeavor.
“Don’t… come near me,” Ji Weichen spoke coldly, his voice dripping with undisguised loathing, hostility, and wariness the moment he laid eyes on Su Meng.
Instead of retreating, Su Meng stepped forward, standing over him with a commanding presence. Compared to the disheveled Ji Weichen, Su Meng appeared far more composed, still clad in the gown she had worn to the banquet. The long woven gauze trailed on the floor, its material and embellishments unknown, yet under the light, it shimmered faintly as if sprinkled with starlight.
She reached out toward Ji Weichen, as if simply inviting him for a dance at a ball.
Her fingertips brushed against the bruise at the corner of his lips, tracing it lightly.
“You don’t seem very welcoming,” Su Meng remarked.
In response, Ji Weichen bit down hard, clamping onto several of Su Meng’s fingers with a force that seemed intent on severing them entirely.
Su Meng let out a soft hiss but did not pull her hand away. Instead, she swiftly kicked him in his wounded abdomen, her movements crisp and decisive. Seizing the moment his grip loosened from the pain, she pinned him almost against the wall, bending her leg to press against his injury, rendering him powerless.
They were now extremely close, close enough to smell each other’s scent and feel each other’s breath.
Su Meng’s fingers remained trapped between Ji Weichen’s teeth, though his bite had weakened considerably due to his lack of strength. She stirred his tongue with her fingertips, allowing the warm blood from her palm to trickle slowly down his throat.
Her fingers brushed against his canine teeth, tracing them gently.
The scene, the posture—it evoked a strangely peculiar sensation.
Grabbing a handful of Ji Weichen’s black tousled hair, Su Meng forced him to look up and meet her gaze. A faint, nonchalant smile played on her lips.
“Having fun biting?”
“Little Sir, why not be good?”
Her voice was soft, almost deceptively indulgent and doting.Ji Weichen’s pupils were slightly unfocused. Before he could do anything, he felt a dull pain at the back of his head. His vision darkened, and just before completely sinking into unconsciousness, what he saw was Su Meng’s face.
Delicate, beautiful features, youthful and adorable, with fluffy soft curls like a doll’s. Yet now, a smirk tugged at her lips, the corners of her eyes lifted, completely shedding all pretense as she laid bare her hypocrisy, cunning, and malice before him.
“Too fierce—teeth need to be pulled out.” Then, before losing consciousness, he heard her say.
【Ho… host, you shouldn’t have altered his fate. He was supposed to lose an eye today…】 666 was stunned, stammering nervously. Everything had happened so quickly; before it could even say anything, Su Meng had suddenly knocked Ji Weichen out.
【Six-six, I’m just delivering warmth. Isn’t it warm?】 Su Meng spoke, her gaze puzzled, as if wondering what the other was so panicked about.
【…】 666 fell silent. Its host’s way of understanding things was a little different from ordinary people’s. What it understood as warmth was spiritual; its host delivered physical warmth—feeding Ji Weichen the warmth of blood. It glanced at Su Meng’s sincere eyes.
Maybe… she didn’t mean it? Just altering this small node probably… wouldn’t have much impact, right?
【Then you don’t intend to kill…】 666 began, having suspected for a moment that Su Meng wanted to finish off Ji Weichen given how harshly she had struck. Before it could finish, 666 watched as Su Meng opened its System warehouse, which was mostly filled with medicines.
Those were the extra benefits it had promised Su Meng—during the mission, she could choose three Magical items from inside to use, all of them one-time products. After the mission was completed, the warehouse would belong to her.
【I see, you want to use the medicines inside to treat Ji Weichen’s injuries, so that when he wakes up, his attitude might soften a bit. Then you can keep being good to him, gradually softening his attitu…】 666 started, thinking this could actually be a viable approach, even if the chances were slim, especially given Ji Weichen’s earlier demeanor…
Before 666 could finish speaking, the rest of its words stuck in its throat as it stared wide-eyed at the object in Su Meng’s hand.
