CEO’s Little Wife 9

The moment Qiao Yu had barely put down his chopsticks, Shen Yan’s voice sounded right beside him.

Shen Yan’s eyes held a firm, uncompromising look, as if there was no room for discussion. He knew Qiao Yu hadn’t eaten much last night and had slept until late morning; that little bit of food was nowhere near enough to fill his stomach.

It was simply that Qiao Yu’s laziness had flared up again, and he didn’t want to keep eating because it felt like too much trouble.

After staring at Shen Yan for a few seconds, Qiao Yu obediently picked up his chopsticks again. But when he reached for the rice, he couldn’t help letting out a miserable sigh.

It was as if he had some deep grudge against his meal.

For the umpteenth time, after chewing until he was tired, Qiao Yu, whose energy had been completely drained and who urgently needed recharging, couldn’t resist reaching out and touching Shen Yan’s hand on the table.

Shen Yan: ?

What was wrong with him? Did he like him that much? He even had to sneak in a couple of touches while eating?

Countless possibilities flashed through Shen Yan’s mind, but his actions showed no sign of resistance. On the contrary, he let Qiao Yu keep rubbing against him.

Fully recharged, Qiao Yu instantly shook off all the soreness in his body. With the strength to eat again, he could naturally fill his stomach, so he rallied his spirits and set out on the distant journey of eating three bowls in one sitting.

Ten minutes later

Qiao Yu, who usually only ate half a bowl of rice or even just a couple of bites to make sure he wouldn’t starve, had finished a full bowl and successfully stuffed himself. He went limp like a pancake, painfully collapsed on the sofa and rubbed his stomach.

When Shen Yan came downstairs after changing clothes, this was what he saw: Qiao Yu, wearing a loose shirt and short shorts, lying on his back on the sofa and trembling as he rubbed his stomach.

Shen Yan frowned, quickly walked over, and sat down on the sofa. He moved Qiao Yu’s hand away and placed his own on Qiao Yu’s stomach. The normally flat belly seemed to be bulging a little now, hard and impossible to press down.

Shen Yan found it a little amusing. He rubbed it twice and asked, “Too full?”

Qiao Yu nodded with a somewhat accusing look, twisting his head around to find a comfortable position. In the end, with tears in his eyes, he forced his head onto Shen Yan’s thigh, closed his eyes, and waited for Shen Yan to rub his stomach.

He was being taken care of, and yet he was still so matter-of-fact about it?

Helpless, Shen Yan could only keep massaging him. The stomach that had just calmed down absolutely could not end up in the hospital again just because he had eaten too much… that would be far too embarrassing.

After being massaged for a while, whether it was Shen Yan’s technique or simply because of the snuggling, Qiao Yu really did feel much less uncomfortable.

Resting his head on Shen Yan’s thigh and breathing in the faint woody scent on him, Qiao Yu started getting drowsy again.

He really never got enough sleep.

“Get up.”

?

Qiao Yu opened his eyes and looked up at Shen Yan with some dissatisfaction, as if asking, Why are you disturbing my sleep?

Shen Yan adjusted his cuff, ignored Qiao Yu’s resentful gaze, and lifted the soft, pancake-like Qiao Yu to his feet.

“Go outside and get some sun. All living things need photosynthesis to grow.”

Qiao Yu: ?

Was he saying he was short?

Qiao Yu would rather have Shen Yan hit him right now than go outside to sunbathe. Going outside for no reason was simply the stupidest thing in the world, bar none.

“No…”

Before Qiao Yu could finish, someone hoisted him onto a shoulder and carried him straight out the door.

I never agreed to this much physical and mental suffering! Qiao Yu felt that he was suffering a huge blow, both physically and mentally.

When he was put down in the courtyard, Qiao Yu immediately collapsed into Shen Yan’s arms, revealing only a stretch of snow-white, slender neck, as if the words “I don’t want to face this” were practically written across his face.

“Stop fooling around. Run two laps in the courtyard to digest your food. When your body recovers a little, I’ll take you outside to run and work out.”

“It’s good for your health.”

Shen Yan spoke with great seriousness, looking as if everything he was doing was for Qiao Yu’s own good. But to Qiao Yu, it was no different from a bolt of lightning out of a clear sky.

Give me back the Shen Yan from the original plot! Qiao Yu wanted nothing more than to grab Shen Yan by the collar and scream at the top of his lungs inside his head.

Tears in his heart but refusing to move even a muscle on the outside, Qiao Yu closed his eyes and used the calmest action possible to express the most silent refusal.

He desperately needed a protagonist who would give him the cold shoulder.

“I feel dizzy.”

Qiao Yu weakly leaned into Shen Yan’s arms, clutching his chest and pretending to be sick, but Shen Yan was clearly not falling for it. After looking him over from head to toe, he could tell at a glance that Qiao Yu was faking it.

“Even if you’re dizzy, you still have to run.”

Qiao Yu’s eyes flew wide open. He wasn’t dizzy anymore. Trembling, he raised one finger and protested with tears in his eyes. “This is domestic violence!”

Shen Yan reached out and grabbed Qiao Yu’s hand, which was about to poke his chin, decisively turned him around, wrapped an arm around the youth’s shoulders, and whispered in Qiao Yu’s ear.

“That’s right. I’m a man who commits domestic violence after getting married.”

“Run now. Otherwise, two laps will become four.”

Qiao Yu’s body shook violently. He immediately switched tactics, turned back, and grabbed Shen Yan’s lapels. Shen Yan followed his movement and lowered his head, staring steadily at what other trick Qiao Yu was going to use.

Who would have thought it would be the simplest and most effective trick of all: a beauty trap.

In order to escape the torture of those two laps, Qiao Yu really used the most pitiful expression of his entire life. With tears in his eyes, he gently rubbed his forehead against Shen Yan’s chin, almost entirely sinking into Shen Yan’s arms.

“No, two laps is really impossible for me…”

“Mister, I’ll die.”

At first, he had only been teasing Qiao Yu, but now even Shen Yan was nearly trapped by it. His hand almost instinctively wrapped around the youth’s slender waist.

Shen Yan’s long, broad palm nearly covered Qiao Yu’s entire waist and hips. Shen Yan sighed and decisively backed down.

“Walk two laps.”

“No more negotiating.”

Even though he hadn’t achieved complete victory, walking two laps was still better than running. Qiao Yu withdrew his hand in disappointment, lowered his head, and took small steps forward.

This villa was Shen Yan’s private residence, and the courtyard only consisted of the front area by the entrance and a small section in the back. If you really counted it, it wasn’t very large at all, so walking two laps didn’t take many steps.

Shen Yan’s original intention had only been to let Qiao Yu get some sun and take a few steps to aid digestion. He hadn’t expected Qiao Yu to resist so strongly, even resorting to a beauty trap.

By the time Qiao Yu went upstairs after finishing the two laps, he was completely exhausted, but he still held back and refused to ask Shen Yan for a recharge. Holding onto the stair railing, Qiao Yu looked exactly like someone whose life force had been drained away, mentally and physically spent.

Qiao Yu thought this was the end of it, but in fact, it was only the beginning.

Over the next few days, Shen Yan would basically drag Qiao Yu downstairs to walk two laps after breakfast or dinner every day, either before class or after class.

It was a nightmare.

At first, Qiao Yu could still firmly voice his protests, but later on, he spent the whole day trying to avoid Shen Yan. Every time he was found in his room, Qiao Yu would burst into tears and complain.

It was simply too much.

This miserable life was not fit for human beings.
