After saying that, Qin Yu did not even dare to look into Yu Qingya’s eyes, because she knew how bizarre this request sounded. How could someone with Yu Qingya’s personality possibly agree to it? Silence immediately filled the room, and neither of them made a sound.

Just as Qin Yu took a deep breath, ready to say that she was only joking, she felt her chin being gently lifted.

In the very next second, a warm sensation pressed against her lips.Full novel: After Transmigrating into a Male-Centric Novel, the Female Lead and I Got a Happy Ending — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Qin Yu widened her eyes in astonishment. Was Yu Qingya kissing her? Was she dreaming? Looking at that magnified, breathtaking face and skin so close that she could barely see the pores, Qin Yu felt as though her heart was going to beat right out of her chest.

Even though she realized the other woman was merely passing spiritual energy through the method she had suggested, her heart still raced wildly.

After all, regardless of the reason, being kissed by the person you loved was something that would make you wake up smiling even in your dreams.

Clearly, Yu Qingya was also doing this for the very first time and had zero experience. The two of them stared right into each other’s eyes, yet neither closed them.

For no reason, Qin Yu felt the air in the room grow a little warm, as if she were running out of breath, and the entire space was filled with the sound of her own heartbeat.

A moment later, seeing that Yu Qingya made no further move, Qin Yu took the initiative to end the kiss.

“What is wrong?” Yu Qingya asked, somewhat puzzled as to why Qin Yu had broken the kiss.

“It is fine now, that is enough.” Qin Yu’s face flushed bright red, and even her speech came out stammering.

Yu Qingya tested her condition and found that fluctuations of spiritual energy had indeed returned to her body. Even though she still could not wield it fully, she could feel its presence once more.

Looking at Qin Yu, whose face was red to a somewhat startling degree, Yu Qingya felt a pang in her heart. Could it be that her actions had made Qin Yu feel offended?

“Xiaoyu, I did not mean to take advantage of you. It is just that…” Seeing Qin Yu like this, Yu Qingya wanted to explain that she had done so out of necessity.

Meanwhile, Qin Yu could no longer handle the ambiguous atmosphere and fled without stopping, paying no heed to Yu Qingya calling out to her from behind.

It was only after pouring several basins of cold water from head to toe that the redness on Qin Yu’s face finally faded a little.

She inwardly cursed herself for being so utterly useless. It was merely a kiss, and the other person had not meant anything else by it, yet she had already gotten this worked up. If she—she quickly halted the train of thought, figuring that if she let her imagination run wild any further, she would not be able to sleep tonight at all.

When she returned to the room, Yu Qingya was startled to see her looking like a drowned rat and hurriedly asked, “What happened to you?”

Unwilling to let her embarrassing secret become common knowledge, Qin Yu simply muddled through an excuse.

Seeing that Qin Yu was reluctant to speak, Yu Qingya thought it best not to keep questioning her, especially since both of them felt intensely awkward about what had just happened.

Instead, she went out to brew a bowl of ginger soup for her. Although cultivators might not fall ill over such minor matters, could Qin Yu have damaged her foundation by losing her spiritual energy to start the technique?

Upon seeing the bowl of ginger soup, Qin Yu could feel the other woman’s thoughtfulness and found it hard to refuse.

Late into the night, as both of them fell sound asleep, Qin Yu slowly opened her eyes. Looking at the peerless face beside her, she still felt a sense of unreality even lying right next to her.

Ever since she transmigrated into this world, far too many things had happened. Everything had been accelerated, and the Soul Jade had vanished without a trace.

She constantly feared that the sudden appearance of that object might harm Yu Qingya, because this matter was of paramount importance to her. It could be said to have altered the very foundation of her life.

Perhaps due to getting too much water on herself yesterday, she felt overwhelmingly sleepy and unable to ponder any further in her mind.

When she finally opened her eyes again, she discovered it was already noon.

Though she usually enjoyed sleeping in, ever since coming to this world and beginning her cultivation, she rarely slept this late. Perhaps yesterday’s bowl of ginger soup truly had a hypnotic effect.

However, Qin Yu discovered that Yu Qingya was nowhere to be found.

Previously, when they stayed in the same room, even if they slept on separate beds, the other woman would wake up and sit cross-legged to cultivate.

Perhaps something had come up in the sect. After all, now that she was the acting sect master, she undoubtedly had many more responsibilities than when she was just an ordinary disciple.

Opting to wait for her return in the room, Qin Yu waited until dusk, yet there was still no sign of her, which finally made her anxious.

Barring a major emergency, Yu Qingya should have returned quickly at this hour, rather than vanishing completely without a word.

Qin Yu opened the door, randomly stopped a Qinglian Pavilion disciple to inquire, and learned to her shock that Yu Qingya had not even been in the sect today.

What was going on? Qin Yu suddenly began to panic.

Yet the other person had left her no message whatsoever, meaning she clearly felt confident about whatever she was doing, or perhaps felt there was no need for Qin Yu to know.

Qin Yu had no choice but to stay in the room and continue waiting for Yu Qingya in peace.

By the time night had fallen and the entire Qinglian Pavilion grew dead silent, the door was suddenly flung open.

Standing in the doorway was Yu Qingya, covered in blood. Qin Yu sprang to her feet at once, hurrying over to support her and help her sit on the edge of the bed.

A quick, simple examination revealed a massive wound across Yu Qingya’s back that required medicinal herbs to stop the bleeding.

Qin Yu immediately moved to fetch the medicine, but Yu Qingya stopped her.

“Sister, your back is injured. Let me get you some medicine. Just sit here and do not move,” Qin Yu said in a soothing voice.

In truth, she had countless questions she wanted to ask Yu Qingya: Why had she gotten herself into such a state? Where had she gone and what had she been doing? Yet none of those things mattered more to her than Yu Qingya’s safety.

Seeing the wounds on her body, she must have gone through a fierce battle, but stopping the bleeding was the top priority right now.

When Qin Yu stood up to find the medicinal herbs, Yu Qingya stopped her a second time. Qin Yu looked at her in confusion, not entirely grasping what she meant.

At that moment, Yu Qingya retrieved an item from her robes and handed it to Qin Yu.

A comforting smile hung on her pale face. “Xiaoyu, I am fine. Do not worry. I brought the Three Element Holy Fruit back for you. Now you will not have to worry about your spiritual energy anymore.”

Looking at the Three Element Holy Fruit handed to her, Qin Yu felt silent tears slip uncontrollably from her eyes.
