The cars soon entered the streets. The once lively roads had gradually become a paradise for zombies, leaving everything desolate, with only zombies wandering aimlessly around.

After driving for quite some time, it was already noon, and everyone was hungry, so it was time to rest.

Shangguan Qi drove the car to the entrance of a clothing store, and Tan Wei parked the other car beside it. Judging by appearances, this seemed to be an area with relatively few zombies.Full novel: After Transmigrating into an Apocalypse Novel; I Go on a Killing Spree — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A shopping mall stood right beside them, while the clothing store was located along the outer edge of the mall. It was at a convenient distance, close enough for them to collect supplies later while still allowing them to leave at any time.

Everyone got out of the cars and cleared the zombies before deciding to rest here and collect supplies at the same time. Sang Jin discovered that the female lead had actually awakened a wood-type ability.

Was this what the protagonist ‘s aura was like?

Although Sang Jin had awakened her ability earlier, she had still spent an entire day burning with a fever, while the female lead had effortlessly gained an ability just like that.

Once upgraded, a wood-type ability could not only be used to fight monsters, meaning zombies, but could also accelerate the growth of plants. Most importantly, it could eventually heal injuries.

In the original novel, the female lead had relied on her wood-type ability to thrive in the apocalypse.

It seemed that later on, after returning to the house in the eastern suburbs, the female lead would find a bracelet and accidentally form a contract with it, gaining a space as well.

Sang Jin could only say, sure enough, she really was the author’s own beloved daughter.

They entered the clothing store and cleared out the zombies trapped inside.

It had to be said that zombies were still zombies. Their minds were sluggish, and once the doors were closed, they simply could not get out.

Who the hell had such a one-track mind that they would create a virus like this?

A genius could truly bring either heaven or hell with a single thought.

Sang Jin looked around. The clothes in the store had not been damaged, probably because the doors had been closed when the virus broke out, and everything was still hanging neatly on the racks.

Since it was summer, the store was filled with lightweight clothing, with both men’s and women’s clothes available.

The girls quickly cleared out an area where they could rest before going to pick out clothes.

Sang Jin walked at the back, slowly collecting a few pieces from the racks. She did not dare take too many, only taking a little from each section. No one would notice how many clothes were actually on the racks anyway.

By the time she finished, she had collected quite a lot.

Stores like this almost always had a storeroom, but Sang Jin could not find a reason to go in. She had already revealed her ice-type ability in front of everyone and did not want to expose her space-type ability as well.

She understood the principle that possessing a valuable treasure could bring trouble upon its owner.

She could only wait until they went looking for supplies and collected things then.

“All right. Come over and eat something first. We’ll go take a look at the mall in a while.”

She took out the instant noodles and bottled water they had collected from the school.

“See? This basin finally came in handy.”

Yin Wenzhuo proudly pulled out the stainless steel washbasin he had brought from the supermarket before they left.

With the basin available, they used some clothes as kindling to boil water and prepare their instant noodles.

It had to be said that bringing the basin along had really been a wise decision.

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they left Lin Xin’er, Wang Xuan, and Liu Yiman here, while the other five went to the mall to search for supplies.

According to the mall’s floor directory, the first floor had cosmetics, while the second floor had a supermarket, restaurants, and other establishments.

The third floor had clothing, the fourth had household goods, and the fifth had entertainment and beauty services.

Naturally, everyone’s target was the second floor.

“Ding! A mission has appeared. Collect everything in the supermarket storeroom on the second floor into your space.”

Gugu’s voice sounded.

“A mission again? But this mission is just as half-hearted as the previous ones.”

Sang Jin was beginning to question just how seriously Gugu took assigning missions.

She could no longer figure out what exactly she was supposed to be doing. Was Gugu an apocalypse survival system? All it seemed to want was for her to stockpile supplies and survive the apocalypse.

There were not too many zombies on the first floor of the mall. A few were wandering around here and there.

These zombies looked absolutely miserable.

It was the third day since the virus outbreak, and the zombies’ faces had become even paler. Some even had their intestines hanging out, while patches of dark blood stained the floor.

There were not many zombies, so the five of them cleared them out with ease.

They quickly reached the second floor, where there were considerably more zombies than on the first floor.

Zombies had poor vision but sensitive hearing. Inspired by Yin Wenzhuo’s stainless steel basin, Tan Wei and Sang Jin used another stainless steel basin to lure the zombies into a sound system store at the far end of the second floor.

There was a small wireless speaker inside the store, blasting deafening music. The two of them lured the zombies inside and locked them in.

The remaining zombies that had not been lured away were killed on the spot.

While the others carried supplies back to the cars, Sang Jin took the opportunity to slip away.

“I’m going to see if there are any other useful things.”

The others had no intention of entering the storeroom. Space in the cars was limited, and the supplies outside were already more than enough to fill them.

Sang Jin made her way through the shelves until she reached the storeroom at the very back. She carefully opened the door and looked around.

No one, and no zombies. Perfect.

The storeroom was huge, but it was also brightly lit. There were probably windows or some other ventilation openings letting in the light. The goods were stacked high.

“Gugu, are there any zombies in here?” Sang Jin asked to make sure.

“No. Host, you can rest assured.”

“If there’s any danger, remember to warn me.”

Looking at all the goods, Sang Jin excitedly hummed a little tune as she continuously collected everything into her space.

This was the largest supermarket in the mall, so the inventory in its storeroom was enormous. There were countless varieties and huge quantities of everything.

Canned luncheon meat, canned beef, canned fruit, canned hairtail fish… She collected all kinds of canned food.

Potato chips, chicken feet, chicken wings, dried fish, beef jerky, chocolate… All kinds of snacks went into her space.

Coke, Sprite, milk… All kinds of drinks.

Instant noodles, self-heating hot pot meals…

All kinds of rice and flour.

Red beans and mung beans.

All kinds of seasonings, salt, MSG, chicken bouillon, soy sauce…

Food and daily necessities, including sanitary pads, were all collected. She even managed to collect several boxes of condoms.

What she did not know was that every one of her movements had been witnessed by someone else.

Sang Jin felt that her space had finally found its purpose. The feeling of getting everything for free was wonderful. The more food she had, the greater her sense of security.

In less than five minutes, the entire storeroom had been completely emptied.

“Gugu… the person sitting on the window ledge is human, right? N… not a z… zombie, right?”

Sang Jin stared blankly at the figure sitting by the window, a layer of cold sweat forming across her back.

When had he, or it, gotten there?

If it was a zombie, had zombies become this agile already?

“Host, he’s human.”

Sang Jin immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

“Good, he’s human. Gugu, why didn’t you warn me?”

“Host, I’m sorry. I didn’t know he was here. However, judging from the current situation, he poses no threat to you.”

Of course I couldn’t warn you. Otherwise, wouldn’t my mission have been wasted?

Gugu secretly thought this to itself, though Sang Jin had no idea what it was thinking.

“Big brother, I didn’t know you were here. How about I give you half of these supplies?”

Sang Jin asked timidly.

Don’t ask why she called him big brother. All she could see hanging down from the window ledge were a pair of extremely long legs. Calling him big brother could never be wrong.

Gugu had learned from its previous mistake, so Sang Jin did not take its statement that he “posed no threat” at face value. She was already thinking about how she could get out. She had no idea how long this man had been there, nor did she know how strong he was.

It was better to take a step back and gain some breathing room. Painfully giving away half the supplies was still better than being unable to leave.

“Heh.”

The man jumped down from the window ledge and walked toward Sang Jin.

Sure enough, he had long legs. It was even more obvious once he stood up.

As Sang Jin watched him approach, she saw that he was nearly 1.9 meters tall, with a tall and broad build. Dressed in a black tracksuit, he looked even more upright and imposing.

The light from the window illuminated him, finally allowing Sang Jin to see his face clearly.

“Whoa.”

Sang Jin stared at that face and drew in a sharp breath. How could anyone be this handsome?

His features were sharply defined, and his face was extraordinarily handsome. Even Shangguan Qi, a campus heartthrob-level figure, could not compare.

“You… don’t come any closer. I… I can only give you half of the supplies.”

Sang Jin stammered, looking both timid and stubborn at the same time.
