“October 23, Year 21 of the New Calendar, First Frost.
Today, I went with Ma Qingyu to visit her parents. I was so tired that I actually fell asleep in the car.
She’s so thin, I could clearly feel her bones when I rested my head on her but she’s soft and comfortable, and she has a pleasant, refreshing scent, probably her natural body fragrance (sorry if that makes me sound like a pervert). But it was incredibly soothing.
I really, really hate Pan Jierui!
He hogged all the cheese-baked shrimp and only ate the cheese, not the shrimp! What kind of inhuman behavior is that? It’s outrageous! I hope he gets fat!
If I recall correctly, Ma Qingyu’s favorite dish is also cheese-baked shrimp the milky, fragrant shrimp meat, sweet and springy, with that stretchy cheese pull when you pick it up. Just one bite is so satisfying.
Ah, writing this is making me crave it. I’ll ask the kitchen to prepare some cheese-baked shrimp tomorrow.
Has the male lead appeared this early?
I can’t shake the feeling that every day since I arrived, I’ve been altering the course of Ma Qingyu’s original life.
The susceptible period is literally a major regression in human evolution!
How can it be this absurd?!
The destructive power of an S-class alpha during their susceptible period is enough to rival that captain from that sci-fi show!
I should deeply repent, I just smashed some more things, and now the bedroom is in such a state that only the bed remains intact.
If it weren’t for the medication the doctor injected me with, I might not even have a place to sleep now (though I guess I could sleep on the floor).
The most ridiculous part is, why did they prepare so many adult toys for me?!
Am I that kind of person?! (Che Xiaoyun’s inner roar)
Well, now there really is no place to sleep. The first night of the susceptible period is destined to be sleepless.”
2:30 a.m.
Che Xiaoyun, holding a soft draft notebook and a harmless plastic watercolor pen, sat cross-legged in the middle of the chaotic bedroom, using the floor as a desk, and finished writing this diary entry in a slanted, messy script.
Damn it, it’s this late, and I’m still not tired, I’m so energetic I could work for three days and nights straight. How absurd.
Omegas are so fragrant and soft.
A sudden, wicked thought crossed Che Xiaoyun’s mind. With a serious expression, she dismissed the idea, wrapped herself in the blanket, and continued spacing out.
Omegas can make one so comfortable they fall asleep.
Che Xiaoyun slapped herself and muttered under her breath, “What nonsense is this?”
The wicked thought rephrased itself:
Ma Qingyu is so fragrant and soft.
Che Xiaoyun’s inner world fell silent. To be honest, holding her really was fragrant and soft, so much so that she wanted to snuggle closer.
The wicked thought tempted her further:
Ma Qingyu can make one so comfortable they fall asleep.
After a moment of silence, Che Xiaoyun slammed her precious head against the wall. Dizzy and seeing stars, the world finally quieted down, and she successfully passed out.
*
The next morning, Ma Qingyu packed two suitcases and a small backpack. She declined her father’s offer to accompany her, reassured her worried mother, and drove alone to the alpha isolation zone in the suburbs.
The area was remote, surrounded by mountains and forests, with almost no residential buildings nearby. The isolation zone contained small villas and apartment complexes. Security teams, armed with electric batons, patrolled the area in an orderly manner, not daring to let their guard down.
Ma Qingyu registered at the main gate and placed her luggage on the conveyor belt for inspection.
The security captain took out a stun baton and handed it to her, instructing, “You only have one hour alone with her. If you don’t come out by then, for your safety, we will break in.”
Ma Qingyu didn’t take the stun baton. “I don’t need it. She won’t hurt me.”
“During a rut, no one can guarantee an alpha won’t harm you. Take it, it’s an extra layer of protection.”
The security captain hesitantly offered the stun baton again. He had been ordered by his superiors to ensure this young lady’s safety, and he would be held accountable if anything happened to her.
Ma Qingyu crossed her arms, her cool gaze sweeping over him. “Even if I take the stun baton inside, if she wants to hurt me, she could easily snatch it away before I even use it.”
“Well…”
The captain thought for a long moment but couldn’t come up with a rebuttal, so he had no choice but to let her in.
However, hidden in the shadows near the bushes by the security booth, no one noticed a thin, dark-skinned figure in tattered clothes eyeing the omega’s curvaceous figure.
The security captain escorted her to the door before heading off on his patrol.
Ma Qingyu, carrying a backpack and pushing two suitcases, entered the small villa. The doorbell inside was still ringing, unanswered. She scanned the living room, turned off the bell with a flick of her hand, and headed upstairs.
The small villa in the alpha isolation zone wasn’t large, the first floor consisted of a living room, dining area, and kitchen, while the second floor had a bedroom and study.
Ma Qingyu gently pushed open the bedroom door, only for a piece of broken wood to clatter down in front of her, stirring up a cloud of dust. She looked inside and froze. The bedroom was in complete disarray.
The nightstand and bed frame were shattered into pieces scattered everywhere. The wardrobe had been dismantled like a butcher dissecting an ox, with a deep footprint stamped on one of the wooden panels. The curtains had been torn down and spread on the floor like a rug. Springs from the Simmons mattress had sprung out in several places. A box of adult toys had been knocked over, its packaging covered in wood shavings but showing no signs of use.
In the only clean corner, the alpha in the bed was sleeping soundly. Even in such crude conditions, sunlight still streamed across her face.
She really is well-behaved.
A faint smile touched Ma Qingyu’s lips as she carefully stepped around the mess, crouched beside Che Xiayun, and used her own back to block the sunlight. She gazed down at the alpha’s fair profile.
Her eyes immediately caught the large swollen bump on Che Xiayun’s forehead, right at the peak of her hairline. Ma Qingyu pressed her lips together, wanting to reach out and touch it but afraid of disturbing her sleep. Her heart ached, how did she bump her head again?
Suddenly, an alarm blared from downstairs, its piercing sound echoing throughout the isolation zone. A broadcast immediately followed: “Attention, everyone, attention:
A Class S alpha criminal from Beijing’s Third Alpha Prison forcibly escaped yesterday at 6 p.m. Police suspect he may have fled to the alpha isolation zone.
The criminal’s appearance is characterized by. He has repeatedly committed sexual assault and robbery, is of a obsessive nature, employs cruel methods, and poses a severe threat to society. Please exercise extreme caution and protect yourselves.”
Che Xiayun was jolted awake by the alarm. Instinctively, she pulled the covers over her head but suddenly sensed someone nearby. She sat up abruptly, her wary eyes locking onto the figure beside her, filled with caution.
Ma Qingyu instinctively took half a step back under her gaze but showed no sign of fear, asking softly, “Did the alarm wake you?”
After getting a clear look at her face, Che Xiayun relaxed her guard, yawned drowsily, and glanced at the messy bedroom. Scratching the back of her head sheepishly, she noticed the bandaged wound on her hand. “Yeah.”
Ma Qingyu observed that she was wearing zebra-striped patient attire with a black wristband. “I brought you some clothes and toiletries, along with some snacks. They were too heavy, so I left them downstairs.”
Che Xiayun stood up from the floor, stretched lazily, and touched the large bump on her head, wincing in pain. “Let’s go, I’ll bring them up.”
Ma Qingyu led the way out of the bedroom and waited for her by the door.
Che Xiayun casually grabbed the doorknob, slamming the door shut with a loud clang. The wooden door rebounded weakly, and the metal doorknob came off in her hand. The alpha tossed the doorknob aside, lowering her eyes. “Sorry, I did that on purpose.”
Ma Qingyu witnessed the entire scene of her “accidentally” breaking the bedroom doorknob and felt uneasy, her heart racing with anxiety.
The two went downstairs to the living room, where two large suitcases stood out prominently. Ma Qingyu pointed to the slightly smaller one. “This one is full of snacks. The other has clothes and daily necessities.”
Then she took out a phone, tablet, and charger from her backpack, placing them on the coffee table with a slight smile. “But the most important things are the electronics.”
Seeing these items, Che Xiayun immediately felt her quality of life during quarantine shoot up. Why bother breaking things when she could just binge-watch shows? Wasn’t that way better?
She forcefully opened the smaller suitcase, breaking the lock outright. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the array of snacks inside. She gathered the bottled juices and milk and carried them to the coffee table. “Can you put these in the fridge for me?”
“Sure.”
Ma Qingyu picked up three bottles in one hand and headed toward the open kitchen.
The open kitchen was small. Though it had pots, pans, and utensils, there were no seasonings it was purely for show. The fridge was completely empty. She placed the first batch of drinks into the refrigerator compartment.
Che Xiayun had already taken all the snacks out of the suitcase and piled them on the coffee table. Suddenly, she turned to Ma Qingyu, her clear, deer-like eyes filled with confusion. “Why did you come in last night without hesitation?”
Ma Qingyu lowered her gaze, her eyelashes trembling slightly, and lied, “It was my first time seeing an alpha in their rut.”
Was it just because she wanted to be by your side during your first rut, regardless of the consequences, indifferent to gains or losses?
So was it just curiosity?
Did she just come to watch the spectacle of you in your rut?
Like an audience watching a clown, with a self-righteous, sanctimonious attitude!
“Heh,” Che Xiayun laughed bitterly, smashing an ashtray on the floor. Glass shards scattered everywhere. Pointing at the door, she said coldly, “Now! Immediately! Get out! I don’t want to see you again!”
She said she never wanted to see her again.
Ma Qingyu’s heart ached, throbbing with pain. Even though she knew it might just be the sensitive emotions of an alpha in rut, she couldn’t help but tear up, biting her lower lip stubbornly. She picked up the drinks from the coffee table. “Let me put these in the fridge for you before I go.”
Che Xiayun opened her mouth but said nothing. Instead, she turned and kicked the sofa over, the loud crash echoing through the villa. The alpha, agitated, delivered two more furious kicks, causing the sofa to groan under the strain. Finally regaining a shred of rationality, she faced the wall and muttered a low, “I’m sorry.”
But the room remained deathly silent, with no response from the omega.
After waiting a few seconds, Che Xiayun spun around and sent the sofa flying with another kick, raising her voice, “I said I’m sorry!”
The only replies were the scattered drinks on the floor, the open refrigerator door, and the window that had been dismantled at some unknown time.
Why was the window open? Where was she?
Where had Ma Qingyu gone?!
Che Xiayun hurried to the open kitchen area, calling out Ma Qingyu’s name in confusion, “Ma Qingyu? Where are you?”
No one answered.
The room fell silent for a moment before she suddenly recalled the escaped criminal mentioned in the recent broadcast. She immediately leaped out through the broken window. The garden outside was in disarray, and she sprinted forward, following the trail.
Fragments of the broadcast replayed frantically in her mind: “Multiple convictions for rape and robbery, obsessive personality, brutal methods, highly dangerous to society.”
“Multiple convictions for rape.”
“Brutal methods.”
These words nearly consumed what little reason she had left.
The wind whistled past her ears. Che Xiayun’s eyes reddened, and cold sweat soaked through the back of her shirt. Though she wore only sandals, she ran as if her life depended on it, pushing her body to its limits.
The chilly late-autumn wind rushed toward her, billowing her zebra-striped hospital gown. Her hair streamed behind her, and the bandaged wound on her palm tightened with the sweat soaking through the gauze.
A hidden guard emerged from outside, watching Che Xiayun’s retreating figure and rushing to follow her. Anxiously, she called out, “Young mistress, don’t chase after them! It could be a trap.”
But Che Xiayun was beyond listening to any advice. She pursued relentlessly, even if the chances of catching up were slim.
The hidden guard stared at Che Xiayun’s increasingly swift silhouette, shocked. The speed of an S-class alpha in a crisis was something even she, with her professional training, couldn’t match. “Young mistress, Dark Seven has already gone after them! There’s no need to worry.”
Che Xiayun had no time to respond, her heart growing heavier. If Dark Seven had caught up, she wouldn’t have run this far without spotting Ma Qingyu.
Rounding a corner, she saw at the end of another path, about two hundred meters away, a tall, thin man dressed like a dirty, disheveled vagrant preparing to scale a wall. Slung over his back was Ma Qingyu, bound with vines and unconscious.
Not far from the wall, Dark Seven lay collapsed on the lawn, already unconscious, the scent of blood detectable even from a distance.
Che Xiayun’s eyes blazed red. Without slowing, she roared, “Bastard, stop right there!”
The lanky man, gripping the crevices in the wall, glanced back at her. A sharp, hoarse, and eerie voice rang out, “Brat, if you’ve got the guts, follow me! Hahahaha.”
This pervert! Damn him!
Che Xiayun cursed inwardly, mustering every ounce of strength for a final sprint. Every muscle in her body strained, her chest heaving violently as she raced against time.
As the tall, lanky man was about to scale the five-meter-high wall, her anxiety surged, and her entire body felt as if it were burning with fever.
She had to move faster now!
At this critical moment, a surge of power erupted from her alpha glands, overwhelming her with heat and a violent surge of emotion.
Without a second thought, Che Xiayun shot forward like an arrow released from a bow. The distance between them rapidly closed ten meters two meters, one meter. With a sudden leap at the base of the wall, she grabbed the tall man’s ankle firmly.
Dawn would eventually break through the darkness and descend upon the world.
