His voice was somewhat hoarse, but his enunciation was clear enough for Lin Zhuo to hear clearly.

Lin Zhuo first froze, then realized that those two words were addressed to him. Goosebumps instantly rose, and with the speed of lightning, he pulled back to put some distance between them.

He looked at Fu Baizhou, a chill sweeping over him. “Are you out of your mind? I am a man, and you are calling me your wife?”Full novel: After Transmigrating, the Crazy and Wicked Deity Always Wants to Cuddle with Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Could it be that what the system called “reforming him with love” meant having him sleep with the guy?

Was this damn thing an indenture of servitude?

“System, he is a gay man.”

[The data does not say.]

Useless system.

Fu Baizhou’s pair of peach-blossom eyes were deep and restrained. Under the lights, his eyelashes were curled and distinct, every single one of them.

He looked at Lin Zhuo, seemingly trying to process his words.

Lin Zhuo rubbed his forehead. Had he really been turned into an idiot?

So, he might not actually be gay, and his cognitive functions had just suffered a glitch?

Lin Zhuo thought for a moment. “I will go call a doctor.”

Fu Baizhou raised his gaze, his hollow eyes meeting Lin Zhuo’s in a four-eyed stare, and asked softly, “Why call a doctor? Are you sick?”

“I think you are the one who is seriously sick!” Lin Zhuo snapped impatiently, turning around to walk out the door.

The hallway lights were very dim and completely deserted, not even an on-duty nurse was in sight.

Lin Zhuo remembered where the nurse’s station was and headed straight for it.

The on-duty nurse was dozing off. Lin Zhuo glanced around before speaking. “Hello, the patient in Room 403 has woken up, but it seems his brain got scrambled in the fall. Could you please ask a doctor to come take a look?”

This entire floor consisted of VIP rooms, enjoying priority treatment rights.

The nurse rubbed her eyes open and said, “I will contact a doctor immediately. Please wait a moment.”

“Alright, thank you for your hard work.”

Lin Zhuo returned to the ward. Seeing him arrive, Fu Baizhou pulled back the blanket and made to get out of bed.

His temples throbbed twice, and he immediately stopped Fu Baizhou’s movement. “What are you doing?”

Even if he wasn’t human, didn’t he feel any pain abusing his own body like this?

“Wife, are you abandoning me?” He looked as pitiful as an abandoned dog.

The corners of his eyes were flushed, looking like a brilliant flower against his pale face.

Lin Zhuo remained silent. He grabbed Fu Baizhou’s hand, placed it against his own lower abdomen, and said, “Did you feel that? I am a man, just like you.”

Fu Baizhou’s hand made no extra movements; he simply stared at him with near-innocence. “I know you are a man.”

Lin Zhuo burst out in anger. “No, are you playing dumb or what? What I am trying to say is that there is no possibility between us, understood?”

“No, this is our first time meeting too. Do not tell me that because I saved your life, you want to offer yourself in return?”

Lin Zhuo began rambling incoherently. Once emotions took the upper hand, his communicative ability plummeted.

Fu Baizhou lowered his gaze, his brows imperceptibly revealing a hint of displeasure. “Why is that not possible?”

“Your grandfather!” Lin Zhuo was frantic with rage, his fury finding no outlet.

Did he really have to wait on this guy?

“My grandfather…” Fu Baizhou suddenly pressed against his temples, veins bulging on the back of his hands and forehead as his brows knitted tightly together.

The sudden action startled Lin Zhuo into taking several steps back. After waiting a few seconds and confirming there was no immediate danger, he bent down and asked in a low voice, “What is wrong with you?”

Fu Baizhou raised his head, his eyes pooling with tears, looking utterly pitiful. “My head hurts so much. I cannot remember anything.”

Lin Zhuo did not know how to comfort others. He said, “If you cannot remember, then do not think about it.”

After a brief pause, he tentatively asked, “Do you still remember your name?”

“Wife, do you not know my name?” When he said these words, Fu Baizhou’s expression looked quite hurt.

What this sentence was actually asking about was their first meeting.

If they were truly meeting for the very first time, how could Lin Zhuo possibly know his name and a whole series of information?

This was also the point that made Fu Baizhou curious.

Lin Zhuo failed to catch the implication and only felt furious.

Before he could say anything else, the door was knocked upon. He stood up, opened the door, and saw a doctor of about forty years old standing outside.

He nodded at the doctor and stepped aside to let him enter.

After ten minutes of preliminary examination, the doctor reached a conclusion: “It might be amnesia.”

“Amnesia?” Lin Zhuo looked at the large bump on his head. Could that impact inside the car have scrambled his brains?

Lin Zhuo’s lips pressed into a thin line. After a moment, he asked, “Doctor Liu, can you give him a detailed checkup?”

He did not believe that an impact alone could cause him to lose his memory.

Fu Baizhou’s body was much stronger than imagined; moreover, an ordinary person would not necessarily get amnesia from just that kind of collision.

“We can.” The doctor agreed right away.

After tossing about for nearly an hour, the necessary examinations were finally completed.

The doctor spoke to him at length, roughly explaining that Fu Baizhou’s amnesia might be psychogenic. That meant he had experienced something he did not want to remember, and his brain triggered a defense mechanism, which resulted in memory loss.

Lost in thought, Lin Zhuo asked the system, “Since he has amnesia, he should not destroy the world anymore, right?”

[According to the data, mission progress is less than one percent.]

After making such a fuss for so long, there was actually zero progress.

Lin Zhuo went frantic. “I curse your grandfather.”

[It seems the Host is very fond of the system’s grandfather, but the system does not have a grandfather.]

Even though it was an electronic voice, Lin Zhuo could still perceive its punchable tone.

Lin Zhuo thanked the doctor, smoked a cigarette outside, and then returned to the ward.

Sitting by Fu Baizhou’s hospital bed, Lin Zhuo asked with a calm expression, “Do you really not remember anything at all?”

Catching the faint scent of cheap tobacco on Lin Zhuo, Fu Baizhou could not help inhaling a bit deeper. “I only remember that you are my wife.”

Lin Zhuo suspected that Fu Baizhou had not lost his memory at all, and it was even possible he had been reborn; otherwise, why would he choose this method to disgust him?

“First, I am not your wife. Second, we are not close. Third, I am a man.”

Fu Baizhou’s facial features appeared even more defined under the bright lights. After the ordeal, his complexion regained a trace of color, making him look like a living person.

“You knew my name and brought me to the hospital. Are we not close?”

His gaze seemed to carry a penetrating power, and Lin Zhuo looked away in a hurried rush after just one glance.

If he kept staring into those eyes, it felt as though no secrets would remain.

Lin Zhuo stood up with a gloomy face, and Fu Baizhou suddenly grabbed his hand.

This time, he restrained his strength, preventing Lin Zhuo from feeling even the slightest bit of pain.

With that familiar wrapping sensation, Lin Zhuo suddenly recalled the scene of being killed by Fu Baizhou.

Terror instantly surged into his heart, and he panicked, shaking off his hand.

Due to the excessive movement, he heard Fu Baizhou draw in a sharp breath. Immediately following that, bloodstains became faintly visible through the blue-and-white striped hospital gown.

Clearly, he was the one in the wrong, yet Lin Zhuo took the offensive and angrily demanded, “What are you grabbing my hand for?”

As if immune to pain, Fu Baizhou looked up at Lin Zhuo’s angry face with wet eyes. “Wife, do you not want me?”

Lin Zhuo’s heart trembled, and he urged hastily, “Let go of me first. I will go call a nurse to fix you up again.”

Fu Baizhou gripped him tightly, a trace of obsession appearing in his gaze. “No. If I let go, you will leave.”

The bloodstains on his clothes continued to spread, and the rare flush of color on Fu Baizhou’s face was rapidly fading.

Lin Zhuo suppressed his anger. “I am not leaving. I am just going to call a nurse.”

Fu Baizhou’s grip tightened continuously, his soft dark hair drooping to half-cover his brows and eyes.

Lowering his head, his voice trembled. “Swear that you will never leave me.”
