Struggling in agony for what felt like an eternity, Shen Fuxing knew she couldn’t just lie there waiting for someone to save her.

With her grandfather gone, she could only rely on herself. She still had to reunite with him—she absolutely could not fall here!

Driven by that conviction, Shen Fuxing bit her lip hard, using the pain to stay conscious.Full novel: Alas, She’s Naturally Rebellious and Loves to Annoy the Gods — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She rolled over and slowly, inch by inch, crawled toward the door, crimson blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

When her hand finally touched the threshold, she mustered all her strength, gritted her teeth, and stood up, her body swaying unsteadily.

With every step, a tearing pain shot through her abdomen.

She didn’t cry out for help, nor did she expect any of the immortals along the way to lend a hand to a Celestial Attendant who had most likely been punished by her master for wrongdoing.

Following the route she remembered, Shen Fuxing pressed one hand against her stomach while using the other to lean on the white jade railings or palace walls that offered brief moments of respite.

She moved slowly toward the Medicine King’s residence, pausing every three steps.

Suddenly, a breeze swept by, gently brushing her hair as if careful not to add even the slightest burden to her.

In her dazed state, it felt as though a large hand was stroking her head.

A shimmering golden paper drifted down with the gentle wind, landing perfectly in her lap.

Shen Fuxing grabbed it and glanced at it, her vision gradually blurring. She could barely make out the larger characters at the beginning: “Thunderous Divine Fire Pill.”

“Sister Shen! Sister Shen, what happened to you? Who hurt you like this?”

The ground trembled slightly as a rough, anxious voice grew closer, but Shen Fuxing’s consciousness was fading.

Leaning against the wall, she tried to turn and see who it was.

Before she could look back, the figure was already beside her, lifting her with extreme gentleness and cradling her in his palm.

Weak to the point of exhaustion, Shen Fuxing curled up in his palm and struggled to lift her eyes to look at him. “Big Guy?”

She was naturally slender and petite, standing no taller than the Giant Spirit God’s fingernail.

In his eyes, she looked like a porcelain doll that would shatter at the slightest touch—fragile beyond measure.

Without another thought, even without seeing the direction Shen Fuxing had been heading, he knew he had to rush her to the Medicine King’s residence.

The Giant Spirit God was truly massive, like a moving mountain. The ground trembled wherever he passed, especially now as he broke into a run.

Despite the commotion that shook the surrounding palaces, Shen Fuxing felt exceptionally steady lying in his palm—steadier even than the high-speed trains in the mortal realm…

That was her last thought before she completely lost consciousness.

When she opened her eyes again, she was lying on a sickbed in the Medicine King’s residence.

The heavy but not pungent scent of medicine lingered in the air.

“You’re awake, Immortal? You suffered internal bleeding from a heavy blow to your abdomen. I’ve already treated you with magic and used the finest Celestial Herbs. How do you feel now? Does it still hurt?” the Medicine King asked carefully.

Shen Fuxing shook her head. As soon as she sat up, she was startled by the Giant Spirit God, who was stomping his feet in a fit of rage. “Bah! Who dares hurt my sister? Tell me his name, and I’ll go chop him to pieces right now!!”

With a battle-axe in each hand, he looked as though he’d storm into the offender’s home and wipe out his entire family the moment Shen Fuxing gave the name.

Shen Fuxing rubbed her forehead. “It was Li Jing, your direct superior.”

“Wh-what?” The Giant Spirit God’s eyes instantly cleared. It wasn’t that his earlier passion had vanished, but his momentum had noticeably weakened.

“You’ve always been by the Third Prince’s side, haven’t you? How did you manage to offend Heavenly King Li?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he immediately slapped himself, thinking to himself: Wasn’t it precisely because he heard that Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King had been placed under house arrest in Lingxiao Palace over Shen Fuxing, and fearing that Li Jing might seek revenge on her privately, that he rushed anxiously to Cloud Tower Palace to see her?

Who would have thought he’d run into her halfway, already severely injured.

“Sister Shen, you don’t need to explain. I believe you.”

“Heavenly King Li’s obsession with face isn’t a new thing. Such a huge scandal as harassing the Barefoot Immortal, and you just happened to stumble upon his misdeeds—in a fit of rage, he simply pushed you out as the scapegoat. Truly shameless!”

Shen Fuxing frowned, wanting to cover Giant Spirit God’s mouth but lacking the strength, so she resignedly covered her own head instead.

To call their superior shameless right in front of the Medicine King—wasn’t he afraid it would reach Li Jing’s ears?

The Medicine King smiled faintly. Having been an immortal for tens of thousands of years, he naturally saw through Shen Fuxing’s thoughts at a glance.

“Immortal Shen, rest assured. This old man has no personal ties with Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li.”

“That anti-wolf spray you developed together with Giant Spirit God—it helped this old man vent quite a bit of frustration back then. We could be considered accomplices in crime.”

His eyes glinted as he raised both hands to the sky, letting out a mad laugh reminiscent of Dongfang Bubai. “Moreover, ever since the Giant Spirit Anti-Wolf Spray came into existence, my Medicine King Manor has reached unprecedented heights of glory!”

“Not only has the threshold been trampled over two hundred times by immortals brought in for emergency treatment, but our revenue has skyrocketed, surpassing the God of Wealth’s manor—which had dominated the rankings for nearly a century—in less than three days.”

The Medicine King suddenly turned, his enlarged elderly face leaning close to Shen Fuxing’s. He grasped her shoulders with both hands, the sickly excited possessiveness in his eyes almost materializing. “You! Are simply! My! God!”

Shen Fuxing silently edged toward the corner, her wide eyes and shocked expression all conveying that she had been greatly frightened.

Forcing a stiff smile, she said awkwardly, “Our proximity is a bit… ambiguous. Could you perhaps step back a little?”

Giant Spirit God, fearing the Medicine King might open his maw and swallow his newly awakened sister in one gulp, quickly reached out to scoop her back into his palm for protection.

Realizing he had lost his composure in excitement, the Medicine King instantly turned serious, clearing his throat twice with a fist pressed to his lips.

“This old man will go fetch some medicinal herbs for Immortal Shen. Treat this place as your own home and chat freely.”

With that, he threw Shen Fuxing a meaningful, affectionate, and sincere flirtatious glance, unable to control the corners of his mouth as he fled as if embarrassed.

Leaving aside who would want to treat a hospital as their own home—

Just that aged face paired with that deep, flirtatious glance made even Giant Spirit God scrunch up his features, breaking out in goosebumps, his words dripping with disdain.

“Sister, let’s try not to see this old man for appointments in the future. He seems a bit… mentally unwell.”

Noticed.

Shen Fuxing remained silent, only nodding repeatedly.

“By the way, do you want to hide at my manor for a few days? Wait until the Third Prince returns before going back to Cloud Tower Palace. I’m afraid Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King might still come after you,” Giant Spirit God said, lowering his head.

Mentioning this, Shen Fuxing suddenly remembered the piece of paper that had blown into her arms on the road.

“Big guy, do you know what the Thunderous Divine Fire Pill is for?”

She asked casually, her gaze somewhat vacant as she stared into the distance, lost in thought.

“I know! That’s one of the Nine Great Divine Pills forged by Taishang Laojun. Upon striking its target, it erupts with Purple Thunder Desolate Fire, reducing everything in sight to dust. Its power is utterly terrifying.”

“Legend has it that during the Primordial Era, a single pill annihilated the Poison Dragon that plagued the Three Realms. All demonic beasts in the world would retreat three hundred miles upon seeing it, none daring to defy it.”

Hearing this, Shen Fuxing’s vacant eyes gradually regained focus. She tilted her head slightly, asking as if casually, “Is it even more formidable than Li Jing, who achieved Physical Body Sanctification?”

The Giant Spirit God lowered his voice, “Physical Body Sanctification is nothing. I’ve heard that even the ten-thousand-zhang Golden Body of Tathagata Buddha from the West can withstand at most seven of them.”

“Is that so…”

In a place unseen by the Giant Spirit God, Shen Fuxing’s eyes darkened, a fierce storm quietly gathering within them, as if capable of tearing apart everything between heaven and earth.
