Chen Yunfeng’s tinnitus was getting worse and worse, and his vision was completely blurred. He couldn’t even smell any pheromone scent.
He couldn’t even really feel Xie Wang supporting him.
A strong sense of panic washed over him, and for the first time, he mocked himself inwardly.
I’m so useless!
The counselor approved Chen Yunfeng’s application to go home for the night without a single word of hesitation.
However, his condition was truly too terrible; there was simply no way he could make it back on his own.
Xie Wang was spinning around in anxious circles, wanting to accompany Chen Yunfeng back.
Yet, because he was a core member of the card-formation team who needed to hold up several different colored placards, he couldn’t get leave at all.
Jin Rui, being a Beta, was even more helpless and couldn’t sense pheromones in the slightest.
Pei Jie was thin and frail, unable to carry the 185-centimeter-tall Chen Yunfeng.
Xie Wang was so anxious he felt like he was about to fly up to the heavens.
Chen Yunfeng could no longer sit properly on the chair. He squatted on the ground, his whole body tense and curled up into a ball.
He lowered his head and buried it between his knees, looking extremely vulnerable.
Cold sweat streamed down his hair.
Without a second thought, Xie Wang picked up his phone and started calling his older brother, not even having time to first ask: Are you busy?
Xie Qing answered the phone very quickly.
Before he could even finish half of his greeting, Xie Wang interrupted him directly: “Brother, Feng-ge is about to go through his secondary mutation, and he’s suffering terribly. I don’t know what to do anymore. Can you hurry over and take a look?”
There was silence on Xie Qing’s end for a few seconds, followed immediately by the sound of rustling.
“I’m coming over now. Spray him with blocker, spray a lot of it,” Xie Qing said, striding straight toward the garage. “He should have the blocker the doctor gave him last time. Spray whatever is left of it.”
With that, Xie Qing hung up the phone.
Following his brother’s instructions, Xie Wang indeed found that inconspicuous bottle of blocker at the corner of Chen Yunfeng’s desk.
Jin Rui and Pei Jie were still staring blankly, fixing their eyes on the roughly 20ml bottle in Xie Wang’s hand.
It was a full bottle.
“You might as well just pour it directly,” Jin Rui suggested. “Spraying it feels like it’ll take an hour.”
Xie Wang began to feel doubtful about his brother’s instructions. Was it really necessary? Probably not necessary.
Although his brother was an Alpha, surely he couldn’t be so sensitive that he couldn’t accept even a trace of an Omega’s pheromones?
Besides, his brother quite liked drinking tea; he wouldn’t vomit just from smelling it, right?
For the first time, Xie Wang disobeyed his brother’s command.
He picked up the blocker and casually sprayed it twice.
Then, he tried to pull Chen Yunfeng back up to his feet.
Through the unremitting efforts of Jin Rui and Xie Wang, they finally managed to move Chen Yunfeng, who was curled up into a tight ball, from the middle of the dorm room to the doorway.
Now they were just waiting for his older brother to come and take Chen Yunfeng straight to the hospital.
At the very least, a hospital could provide general Alpha soothing pheromones with a suitable compatibility match.
Xie Wang felt that if Chen Yunfeng kept going like this, he would pass out from the pain sooner or later.
Xie Qing’s home was not far from the school, only a ten-minute drive.
As an Alpha, he needed to sign in when entering this dormitory building at night.
Xie Qing scribbled his signature with a flourish, left his ID card at the dorm manager’s desk as collateral, and was finally let through.
The dorm door opened inward. Judging by Xie Wang’s tone, he felt that Chen Yunfeng might have already passed out from the pain.
When opening the door, he was a bit hasty, moving with a gust of wind.
Thud.
It didn’t sound much like the door hitting the wall; rather, it sounded like it had hit a person.
Chen Yunfeng had been moved by the two of them right up against the doorway, and this sudden opening of the door directly knocked him over.
The three people in the dorm heard Chen Yunfeng’s first muffled groan of the night.
Xie Qing froze for two seconds, only to see the spherical shape of Chen Yunfeng rolling twice on the ground in front of him.
“He is…”
Xie Qing squatted down, pushed aside the ball-like figure in front of him, and confirmed it was Chen Yunfeng.
“I’m taking him to the hospital.” Xie Qing touched the top of Chen Yunfeng’s head, which had just been bumped by the door.
A bump had formed.
Chen Yunfeng felt a familiar aura.
It was faintly comforting.
He reached out his hands to grope around, drawing closer in a dazed and muddled state.
Xie Qing hadn’t expected him to suddenly lean in and wanted to push him away, but then he saw his distressed expression.
Helplessly, he smoothed down Chen Yunfeng’s hair and untied the small hair tie at the back of his head.
Taking advantage of the moment, he scooped up Chen Yunfeng, who was tangling around him and refusing to let go.
“You sprayed him with the blocker, right?” Xie Qing instructed Xie Wang. “I’m leaving, take care of yourselves too.”
Jin Rui and Pei Jie had struggled for half a day trying to move Chen Yunfeng, yet Xie Qing picked him up in a single lift, his head still buried in Xie Qing’s shoulder.
A trail of cold sweat ran down his fair face.
He looked broken yet stubborn.
When Xie Qing reached the first floor, Chen Yunfeng seemed to have recovered a little bit and started making a fuss about wanting to get down.
Xie Qing had no choice but to support him from the side.
Until he checked out at the dorm manager’s desk again and got his ID card back.
They walked out of the Omega/Beta dormitory building.
Chen Yunfeng tangled around him once more, burying himself right against Xie Qing’s neck.
The moist touch made Xie Qing freeze all over; he even felt as though he could smell Chen Yunfeng’s pheromones.
“Are you conscious at all?” Xie Qing asked in a hoarse voice.
Chen Yunfeng raised his head, nodded heavily, and walked straight toward the car.
Xie Qing licked the corner of his mouth and took a deep breath.
Upon getting into the car, Chen Yunfeng grew impatient again.
Struggling, he tried to bury his head right beside Xie Qing’s neck.
“Playing the rogue?” Xie Qing asked with a deep, smiling voice.
While shoving him back into the passenger seat, he reached across to grab the seatbelt.
“Give me your pheromones,” Chen Yunfeng murmured intermittently. “I cast fortune-telling sticks the other day, and found an Alpha with a relatively high compatibility match.”
“It should be you.”
“I’m so uncomfortable.”
“My neck is going to break.”
“It is so hot.”
Every word Chen Yunfeng spoke made the pheromone scent inside the car grow a fraction denser.
By the time his rambling ended, Xie Qing could clearly distinguish that his pheromones were Darjeeling tea.
He tightened his grip on the seatbelt and cursed Xie Wang countless times.
Xie Qing cleared his throat and began searching for the blocker.
He didn’t refuse Chen Yunfeng’s request, or rather, he couldn’t refuse.
Even when weak, Chen Yunfeng possessed immense strength; as long as he wanted to lean in, Xie Qing couldn’t dodge him.
Unless he tied Chen Yunfeng up directly, there was simply no way to drive like this.
Brandy’s soothing pheromones permeated the interior of the car.
The restless Chen Yunfeng gradually quieted down, staring at Xie Qing with hazy eyes.
Xie Qing searched for a long time, rummaging around feeling somewhat clueless about what he actually wanted to find.
He had interacted with many Omegas, but Chen Yunfeng made him want to do something more.
He found the blocker, but it was an Alpha pheromone blocker.
It was useless on Omegas.
Chen Yunfeng was no longer in such agony; surrounded by the soothing pheromones, he gradually regained conscious awareness.
“I’m allergic to alcohol.”
In the cramped space, the rich brandy liquor pheromones and Darjeeling tea intermingled.
Xie Qing closed his eyes and chuckled softly, “Forget about whether you’re allergic or not, reel in your pheromones.”
“If this keeps up, my rut period is going to start early.”
Chen Yunfeng turned his head to stare at him for a few moments, then touched the back of his neck.
The next second, Xie Qing slumped his head forward onto the steering wheel.
His voice even hoarser than before, he asked, “Why can you still release inductive pheromones?”
“I…”
Xie Qing punched the seat cushion beside him, breathing rapidly with a final sliver of hope, “Do you have a blocker on you?”
Chen Yunfeng didn’t understand what difference pheromones made; he felt completely incapable of controlling them.
He was like a leaky sieve, radiating heat outward, and he couldn’t tell what exactly was what.
However, seeing that Xie Qing was in a bad state, he immediately started patting his pockets.
He did indeed have a blocker, about a 10ml size, very small, which he carried for prevention.
After fishing it out, Chen Yunfeng hurriedly sprayed himself a dozen times.
With his eyes closed, Xie Qing listened to the sound of him pressing the spray nozzle, feeling a sense of relief.
Chen Yunfeng leaned backward slightly, feeling a sharp pain hit the top of his head. He doubtfully raised a hand to press against it.
He confirmed it was a bump, and it hurt quite a bit.
He spoke up hesitatingly.
“Did my gland grow on the top of my head?”
