Among Yu Zhi’s four books, Chen Yihan was the male lead in this one, The Spoiled Childhood Sweetheart.

In the book, the two were also childhood sweethearts, but unlike reality, they were a couple in the story. The female lead was endlessly spoiled and demanding, while the male lead indulged her without limits.

According to the System’s rules, she had to complete all plotlines while maintaining her character persona.Full novel: All The Heroines Are Her — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Although she had just broken up with him, the System’s “Character OOC Warning” hadn’t sounded. Yes, Yu Zhi in the book lived up to the title—spoiled and demanding. The words “break up” were almost constantly on her lips.

As for the reason for the breakup, it could be anything.

“Yu Zhi, are you breaking up with Chen Yihan again?” It was Liang Ruyan, the last roommate left in the dorm, who had clearly overheard her earlier conversation. She spoke while touching up her makeup with a powder puff. “Oh, come on, you should calm down a bit. You can’t treat breaking up as a joke—it hurts feelings too much.”

Once the plotline began, everyone around her seemed hypnotized by the System. For example, her roommate just assumed she and Chen Yihan were really a couple.

Yu Zhi could only follow her character persona in the book and snort coldly, “He wouldn’t dare!”

Hearing this, her roommate didn’t try to persuade her further. She still had to go to the cafeteria for breakfast and then to class, with no time to waste.

After hearing the door close, Yu Zhi thought about her earlier “hmph” and scratched her fingers in embarrassment.

This tsundere young lady persona—she really couldn’t get used to it at all.

Fortunately, once the plotline ended, her roommate wouldn’t remember anything. Otherwise, she’d be laughed at for the rest of her life.

When she went downstairs, Chen Yihan was already waiting outside the dormitory building. It was still the same face, but if it were the real Chen Yihan, he would have been fuming with impatience by now.

Yet at this moment, he showed no trace of annoyance. As he strode over, his eyes were filled with laughter and joy.

Yu Zhi could easily sense that he truly… loved his girlfriend.

“My dear, you finally came down.”

Given his persona as a campus celebrity in the book, he attracted even more attention than in reality. Students passing by couldn’t help but glance over several times.

But from the moment she appeared, the boy’s gaze never left her.

Yu Zhi still hadn’t fully adjusted to this change. Ignoring him, she walked straight past the boy and headed forward.

In the book, Yu Zhi would act this way when she was angry too, so the System wouldn’t deem it OOC.

Chen Yihan followed beside her. He didn’t speak immediately, his beautiful phoenix eyes observing his girlfriend.

His girlfriend liked to throw tantrums—he knew that.

Others called her a princess or a spoiled brat, but he was happy to indulge and coax her.

But… as he looked at his girlfriend’s face, that thought that occasionally surfaced appeared again for some reason—

His girlfriend didn’t love him.

Her indifference toward him felt so real, as if he were nothing more than a stranger to her.

This was an intuition he absolutely did not want to come true.

A momentary panic made the boy’s expression unconsciously sharpen, only to soften again the next moment.

“What made you angry today?” Chen Yihan asked with a smile, then continued coaxing, “Whether you’re angry or not, you should still eat breakfast first.”

“Momo,” seeing that Yu Zhi still ignored him, his voice sounded helpless, “at least when you broke up with me before, you always gave me a reason, right?”

The alert system was already flashing yellow.

Yes, the Yu Zhi in the book would give a reason, because after all, it was just a fit of temper—deep down, she still liked Chen Yihan.

Yu Zhi glanced at Chen Yihan, who was following her with a gentle and patient attitude. Truthfully, she wasn’t really angry or upset; it was just that they weren’t familiar with each other. Even though she tried hard to immerse herself in this role, she still couldn’t feel close to him.

She could only start thinking about today’s breakup reason. This was a mental challenge, after all—not everyone could mimic the thought process of a drama queen.

“Why are you wearing black today?”

“What?” Chen Yihan, in his black jacket, was clearly taken aback.

“Don’t you know black clashes with Aquarius today? Are you doing this on purpose? Let’s break up.”

After saying this, she didn’t even glance at the boy and continued walking forward.

Chen Yihan didn’t immediately follow her. This was a bit unusual. For the Yu Zhi in the book, this would be an unforgivable offense. Would she have to throw another tantrum later?

Before she could even feel relieved for a moment, her wrist was grabbed.

“Let go…”

Before she could finish, her voice trailed off.

The black jacket on the person in front of her had already disappeared, leaving only a white T-shirt. On this October morning, it looked a bit chilly.

Chen Yihan’s face still wore a smile. “Alright, alright, look—the thing that made our baby unhappy is gone.”

Seeing that Yu Zhi seemed stunned, he took out the breakfast he had bought earlier. “Here, eat first. We’re really going to be late soon.”

Yu Zhi fell silent.

Under normal circumstances, this softened attitude would mean she was about to be appeased. But in Chen Yihan’s heart, that sense of unease seemed to be growing stronger.

He noticed Yu Zhi glancing at his hand, which was tightly gripping her wrist, and a flicker of resistance seemed to flash in her eyes.

When he caught that unfamiliar look, Chen Yihan’s heart felt as if it were being squeezed. Besides the pain, a surge of hostility began to grow.

How could his girlfriend possibly dislike him?

The next moment, a bag was thrown at him. Chen Yihan instinctively caught it—it was Yu Zhi’s bag, a branded item he had given her before.

Yu Zhi took the opportunity to pull her hand free.

A drama queen would never carry her own bag, of course, and not just anyone was qualified to carry it for her. So, this was a signal of reconciliation.

A smile returned to Chen Yihan’s face.

“My dear, eat your breakfast first. It’s going to get cold soon.”

The first two classes today were large lectures, held in a big classroom.

The moment Yu Zhi and Chen Yihan appeared hand in hand at the classroom door, countless eyes immediately turned toward them.

As a famous campus couple, this was the treatment they received.

At first, Yu Zhi would cringe with embarrassment, but now she was used to it, calmly enduring everyone’s gazes.

After all, they were just a bunch of NPCs.

Nothing more than a bunch of carrots and cabbages.

Standing beside their seats, Chen Yihan had already begun expertly wiping down the desk and chair where Yu Zhi was going to sit.

Yu Zhi herself didn’t really care, but her Character Persona couldn’t be Out of Character. If the System gave her a red warning, she’d have to start all over again.

Yu Zhi still remembered the first day she entered this ridiculous plotline—

Carrying her own bag: Out of Character warning.

Sitting down directly upon entering the classroom: Out of Character warning.

Showing timidity under the gaze of classmates: Out of Character warning.

Speaking too gently to classmates: Out of Character warning.

Standing in line to get food herself: Out of Character warning.

Who knew how many times she had to repeat that day just to get through that part of the plotline.

By now, she could naturally immerse herself in the plotline.

“Ancestor, please sit inside.”

Yu Zhi glanced at his lowered, submissive brows and eyes, withdrew her gaze, and walked in to take a seat.

The people sitting around were actually all familiar faces—those who usually surrounded Chen Yihan and whom Yu Zhi often saw. At the moment, everyone was enthusiastically greeting her.

In contrast, Yu Zhi’s expression remained indifferent.

Everyone was already used to it.

Chen Yihan was also talking to them, but after just a few words, his gaze would inevitably return to Yu Zhi.

Yu Zhi was currently looking at her phone.

In the world of the book, it seemed like students didn’t study at all; they were all just tools for the male and female leads, existing solely to watch them fall in love.

For example, when she opened the school forum now, the first thing that greeted her was a “hot” post.

The title was all too familiar to Yu Zhi—

“One Hundred Reasons for Goldfish to Break Up.”

Goldfish was Yu Zhi, the abbreviation for the drama queen Yu Zhi.

When the poster came up with this title, they probably never imagined that the reasons had already exceeded a hundred.

Yu Zhi clicked in, scrolled to the end, and sure enough, it had been updated not long ago.

It was a photo taken under her dormitory building.

“Chen Yihan immediately took off his clothes and threw them in the trash.”

“Just when I thought the drama queen had run out of reasons, she always manages to surprise me.”

“Guess what the next breakup reason will be.”

“Can you actually break up and show me?”

Among all the teasing, one ID stood out as particularly active: “Has Chen Yihan Broken Up Today?”

“I picked up Chen Yihan’s clothes!”

“Wuwuwu, it still carries his scent.”

“Wearing it feels like being hugged by Yihan.”

A bunch of people below were cursing her out.

Yu Zhi, however, took a screenshot and saved it. She wasn’t bothered by it; she just saw it as another rare opportunity to add to her “breakup” reasons.

As she was scrolling through her phone, she suddenly heard Chen Yihan’s voice beside her.

“Momo.”

Yu Zhi hummed in response, not particularly enthusiastic.

“I have two questions. Can I ask?”

“No.”

“First, weren’t you a Gemini? When did you become an Aquarius?”

Yu Zhi paused. Indeed, she had mixed them up. In the real world and in every book, she had a birthday—how could she possibly remember them all clearly?

The System had already issued a yellow warning, so she glared coldly at him. “I say what zodiac sign I am, and you dare to argue? Do you not love me anymore?”

Chen Yihan chuckled. “No, I just wanted to ask which specific day it is. If you want to celebrate two birthdays, we’ll celebrate two from now on.”

Yu Zhi: “…”

Fortunately, the yellow warning didn’t escalate to a red alert, so she didn’t bother responding further.

But even though she ignored him, Chen Yihan continued to ask, “Second question, you only knew I was wearing black after you saw me, right? So what was the breakup reason you gave over the phone this morning?”

Was Chen Yihan really this logical?

Forget it. This was, after all, a large-scale Out of Character fanfiction world. First and foremost, Chen Yihan couldn’t possibly be such a simp.

Yu Zhi couldn’t be bothered to think of a reason. She had almost forgotten what the content was anyway, so she replied with the drama queen’s all-purpose formula—

“Figure it out yourself.”
