Kayden is angry as he drags me out of the pack house.
The scene slowly begins to grab the attention of pack members.
The attention I don’t want.
I don’t even know what he will do to me as he drags me along.
His grip on my arm is tight and it sends delicious shocks throughout my body.
I gasp, he notices but chooses to ignore my reaction completely.
Being this close to him is messing with my mind.
How can I think straight when the strong manly musk scent engulfs my whole body like a cacoon?
I try to be defiant and fight his hold on me but he exerts his powerful aura and his grip tightens.
“ W..what will you do to me?” The panic in my voice is thick.
My eyes are wide as they dart to the pack members who have seized whatever they were doing to watch the scene in front of me.
He stops suddenly and I go crushing into him before he pushes me away like I am some kind of plague.
A powerful growl escapes his lips.
He acts as though me close to him burnt him.
How long will he keep hurting my feelings like this?
Aiden approaches us cautiously.
I give my best pleading eyes when he finally looks at me but he simply shakes his head.
“Alpha, what trouble has this one caused?” Aiden asks.
By now there is a small crowd around us.
Most pack members are eager to know.
My big mouth will get me killed in this pack.
But I can’t help it if Kayden keeps pushing every button in my body, Pushing me closer and closer to the edge as much as possible.
I am suffocating.
“ It seems our dear Lucy over here has grown a pair such that she insulted her Alpha.”
Audible gasps are heard from everyone.
Soon whispers follow, am sure word has spread like wildfire.
Soon enough Lexi joins the crowd standing next to Kayden.
I try to look as brave as possible even though deep down I am crumbling.
It’s only a matter of time before I completely fall apart.
“ Is it wrong if I ask why she did it?” Lexi asks.
I try to remember why I even did it in the first place.
“ It’s like she ain’t keen to being ordered around.” That is all that Kayden says.
Lexi hums and Aiden just watches everything unfold.
By now I know not to depend on Aiden to help me come out of this.
I can’t believe this is happening.
After mums words, I tried as hard as possible to avoid him.
That got me spending more time with my buddy Ace.
Thinking about Ace I see him approaching the crowd.
I give him pleading eyes not getting any closer but being the stubborn person I have shortly known to be he approaches anyways.
“ Have you decided what her punishment is Alpha?” Lexi asks.
Where is she getting to with all this?
I look at her and she gives me a sinister smile.
I should have known, she still has some kind of hate for me.
It’s not like I am trying to steal her man away from her.
I cringe, okey maybe I was trying to…still am.
“That’s why I brought her here.
She insulted your mate babe.
It’s best if you are the one to decide that.”
Kayden’s words leave my mouth agape.
He can’t let this decide my fate not when she still hates me.
My knees go weak and I almost drop to the ground before Ace quickly rushes to scoop me up till I am leaning into his arms.
Kaydens gives us his undivided attention.
He glares at Ace, if looks could kill Ace would be five feet under right now.
Ace is engrossed in holding me he doesn’t even notice the daggers being thrown his way.
Aiden let out a sudden chuckle but holds his laughter before anyone can comment on it.
His reaction is enough to tell me that he is observing what is happening right in front of him.
While Ace and Lexi remain oblivious to it all.
Maybe it’s cause these two don’t know anything.
“ Very well then.
I know just the perfect punishment for you.
After this, you will have me begging for mercy and you will never insult your alpha ever again.” Her words drip with venom.
She smirks in my direction, she is a real witch in disguise how does Kayden not see this?
“ What have you decided my love?” Asks Kayden.
His words make me want to vomit.
I am in this internal fight where a part of me hates him simply because he chose another mate.
As ridiculous as that sounds I don’t care.
Then there is a part of me that loves and wants him.
That part is not afraid to go kneeling and begging for him to get back with me.
Well, Mara is part of the begging part of the course.
Then in the middle of it all stands pride, the pride that is keeping me from apologizing up now.
“I decide to have her on a leash for days.
Some I am in a good mood she will be on a leash for five days.
In those days no one is supposed to approach her wolf or give her any food.
She is only allowed to have water.
That will drive the madness out of her maybe then she won’t be insulting pack members any how let alone our Alpha.” Lexi announces.
Everyone gasps and the whole group is quite deadly quiet.
This is the worst punishment ever.
She knew wolves loved their freedom to run around and be free but being tied down to a rope for days without must be the worst thing ever.
I can’t help but shiver.
I begin to think things through.
I don’t think I will survive this.
“ Luna isn’t that too harsh?” Aiden asks.
His voice is full of concern and my heart warms up.
“ No, it’s the best punishment for her.
I am sure when she was beta she even went through worse.
And to add up should anyone dare approach her or give her any food, the number of days will be doubled.”
I glare at her and she glares right back.
It’s good I am not friends with someone this evil.
“ I can take her punishment Luna let me go on the leash instead.” Ace says and I feel tears prick my eyes.
He has only known me for a week and he is ready to go to such lengths for me.
I shake my head.
I turn to hug Ace who is still holding me.
“ I can’t let you do that for me.
It’s my big mouth that got me in trouble.
I will be able to handle it.
I am tougher than you think.” I assure him even though I am scared as shit.
“I know you are my wildflower.” He gives me one of his famous cheek pecks.
“ But it will hurt me greatly to watch you suffer.”
“ No!!
Lucy got herself into this mess she can’t have people taking the blame and enduring the punishment for her.
For such a wild member this is the only way she will learn.” Lexi says.
She makes it seem like I am this rabid dog that has no control over the pack.
Like I am a rough living among them.
I hate this bitch.
I look at Kayden and he gazes somewhere else completely ignoring the scene in front of me.
He is the only one that can stop this besides Lexi but he chooses not to.
I am led to a poll that is near the center of the pack.
It’s one of those polls that are used when setting a stage if any is needed.
I wonder where my family is.
“No!!!”
I know that voice it’s Mum.
“ I won’t let you do that to my daughter.
I know she has a wild mouth that I am constantly telling her to tame.
But I know she would only say something very harsh when provoked.
Forgive her please alpha.” Mum pleads for me.
Lexi ignores mum like she didn’t say anything.
Kayden continues to drag me to the poll while mum chases around trying to plead for me.
“ She won’t be forgiven, Mrs.
Reed.
I have already made up my mind.” Kayden replies harshly to mum using his alpha voice.
That is enough to have mum cower away even though she tried hard to fight it.
“ Shift Lucy!!” Kaydens commands me using his alpha voice.
I try hard to fight it but Mara won’t go against her ex-mate.
She thinks she is pleased by shifting but she doesn’t know.
I shift instantly turning into my beautiful wolf.
A warrior is quick to grab my scruff so that I don’t run away while Kayden grabs a leash.
Upon seeing the leash Mara begins to fight hard.
It is now that she realizes what kind of situation where have landed in.
She thrashes harder and it becomes hard for the warrior to keep his grip on her till he invites others to help him.
Pathetic they ain’t even strong enough to handle one she-wolf.
Kayden steps forward and she stops for a bit.
She trusts him too much, and that is my fear.
He quickly puts the leash around our necks and we are held to the poll.
Mara can’t believe what is happening.
She tries to fight it off but the leash won’t break.
If anything it only hurts our necks further.
I instruct her to stop and for once she listens to me.
Lexi walks closer to us, close enough that we are the only ones who can hear what has to say.
“ I know you are his ex-mate and I will make sure you suffer before I have you banished from this pack.
Cause I won’t let you take Kayden away from me you little bitch.”
