“ It’s time for you to get released from here Lucy.”
Mara stares at Kayden as he undoes the leash that we had been bound to for a week now.
She is not as excited as she was to see Kayden.
She regards him differently now.
There is a little crowd around and honestly, it irritates both of us that pack members can be here to watch the ordeal like it’s some historical event.
Finally, free dad is the first to rush near us.
And the moment he tries to get near Mara she growls at him.
She doesn’t need any help.
He is shocked as watches her, everyone else is shocked.
Mara keeps are head held high as everyone separates to let her through.
She won’t accept any help from anyone.
Five days of hunger would leave another wolf unable to walk but Mara’s spirit and pride won’t let her biggest enemy think she is weak.
The crowd begins to clap and cheer for her and that only makes boosts her confidence.

We make it back home and shift back into my human form.
I peep my head through the door just to survey the situation even though I am sure most of my family members are still where we left them.
I rush inside the house butt naked, the walk of shame is quick and I make it to my bedroom in time.
I sigh when I am inside, even though it’s normal for wolves to see each other naked I am so not comfortable for my young brother or dad to see me like that.
My body is dirty and muddy, and spending too much time in an open area does for some people.
I rush to the bathroom and take a long bath making sure I scrub all dirt from my body.
Finally clean I walk out of the bathroom naked and when I see a person in my room scream and run back to the bathroom.
“ Sorry, Lucy!!” Ace shouts.
“ Ace!” I whine, “ you could have told me you are here.”
“For the record, I didn’t see anything.” He defends himself.
“Out!!
Come see me after I am going all dressed up.”

I roll my eyes, he didn’t have to wait from here.
I peep through the door just to make sure he isn’t in the room.
When I see that he isn’t I rush to my closet and I get dressed in some shorts and a big T-shirt that covers the shorts.
I walk to my door and find Ace waiting for me by my door.
I roll my eyes once more.
Looking at Ace is making me remember mums words, how she said she has seen the way he looks at me.
“ Come in,” I tell him in a bored tone as I open my door wide for him.
“ I brought some food for you.
I figured you would be hungry.”

He raises his hands in surrender and I chuckle at how cute he looks.
He follows me into the room and sees the food on my bedside table then sits next to me on the bed.
“ I missed you, Lucy.” He states he looks at me in a way that makes me shiver.
His eyes look hungry as they devour me.
“ Hmmm, I don’t know if I missed you.” I pretend to think hard.
He laughs then pouts, “ Okey I did miss you too.” I laugh as I light hit his shoulder.
“ Ouch Lucy did you have to do that.” He smiles mischievously.
I shrug, “ It’s a slip of my hand I guess.”
He shakes his head and smiles at me.
His head moves close to me and I think I want to give him surprise kisses but my eyes go wide when his lips land on my lips instead.
I am too shocked to respond.
Mara instantly reacts inside as she screams for me not to kiss him back.
His lips being to move on mine and I remain frozen like a statue.
When he notices that I haven’t moved since he kissed me he stops.
He scratches his neck he looks nervous.

My mind won’t even form coherent thoughts.

I grab my temples and rub them smoothly.

I breathe out I am already too tired for that conversation.
I wish I listen to mum when she said she noticed.

A knock comes on my door and I sigh before shouting for the person to come in.
Just as I expected mum comes in.

When she sees that her smile isn’t returned she asks.
