“High Mountains pack is not as backwards as you think it is.

Our homes might be in the mountains, but we’re as sharp as werewolves living in skyscrapers.” It was a good thing Avielle had been to High Mountains pack several times to represent Kyrian on some deals in the past.

She knew the place vividly enough to be able to answer any questions Zaden might have for her, so she stayed calm.Full novel: Alpha’s Regret: Rise Of The Ugly Luna — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Zaden laughed, the sound vibrating within his car.

“Yeah, totally.

I’m sorry, I might have joined some stereotypes that think mountain werewolves aren’t as quick-witted and savvy as city werewolves.” Avielle smiled on the outside, but on the inside, she was getting worried.

Why would he ask her that if he wasn’t being suspicious?

Did he know that they’d lied to him?

All these worries made Avielle realize that maybe it was time to leave Raven pack and go somewhere else.

Zaden Westwood was a dangerous man, and this side of him that smiled and spoke to her so softly was even more frightening to her.

She stared out the window, deep in thought, long enough for Zaden to notice she seemed lost.

“Ava?” She looked back at him as he grabbed her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze.

“I know that your ex hurt you and that’s why you left him, and I know you don’t want to share your past with me, and I’m fine with that.

I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable by coming on too strong.

Know that you’re safe here no matter what.

I won’t let anyone hurt you.” Avielle was stunned.

She glanced down at his large hand holding her own and gave him a genuine smile this time.

“Thank you, Zaden.” Though she couldn’t fully trust him, discovering she was from an enemy pack could lead him to kill her in a blink of an eye.

Nevertheless, she was glad to be safe from the past, away from the pain…

even just for a little while.

— Slap!

Kyrian stopped in his tracks, walking into the grand hall of his home, only to witness Claire being slapped hard by his grandmother.

“You hit me?” He heard Claire scream, disbelief in her voice.

“I will do it again if you take Elle’s name on your filthy tongue.” Tabitha Dustwood was a very powerful woman.

She might embellish herself in designers and clean up nice, but she’d won battles beside her husband in the past, and her aura was sharp enough to make a grown man tremble.

Claire was literally shaking, but she defiantly snapped, “I’m better than Avielle on so many levels.

Why do you constantly compare me to her?

Why can’t you accept me?” “Because you’re just a shameless homewrecker who took away the place of the only woman suited to my grandson.

As long as I live, I’ll never let you move into this house.” “What’s going on here?” Kyrian made his presence known, and immediately she saw him, Claire launched herself at him, bawling.

His grandmother lifted her chin.

“Your whore dared to come in here to disturb my peace.

I had to put her in her place.” “I…

I didn’t do anything to her, Kyrian…

I came here to cook for her, but when I served the food, she flipped the table and ordered me to get out.

She called me names and even compared me to your ex-wife.” The words ex-wife caused a frown to pull at his brows.

“Grandma…” “Not another word.

I’ve already told you not to talk to me if Avielle isn’t back home where she belongs.” Kyrian massaged his temple.

He had already told Claire time and again not to come to his home ever since his grandparents returned, but now she did, and his grandmother had been cold to him since they returned and found out Avielle was gone.

“Grandma, we can talk about this whole thing calmly.” “To hell with calmness.

Get this damn woman out of my sight.

She’s irritating to look at.” “Baby, tell her that you chose me over Avielle.

Tell her that no matter what, you won’t leave me even if she doesn’t approve of me.” Kyrian slowly tore Claire’s arms from around his waist.

“Stop it, Claire.” “Grandma, I know you’re upset about Elle, but you’re making a scene.” “A scene?

I will cause much more than just a scene if this woman isn’t taken out of here right now!” Kyrian sighed, pulling out his phone to call someone.

“Come to the mansion and escort Claire back to East Obsidian.” “Kyrian…

Kyrian, please, I want to live with you.

Tell your grandmother that you can’t send me away, tell her…” She sobbed, gripping into him tightly, and irritation began to rise from within him.

Seeing the vivid slap marks on Claire’s face, Kyrian felt nothing but a flicker of interest.

No sympathy or hurt for her.

Somehow, he wished he were there to have witnessed the first slap.

Claire was so fucking irritating sometimes.

“Michael will be here to take you home.

I’ll talk to you later.” “No, Kyrian, we never talk anymore.

I wanted us to spend some time together and…” “Alpha, Grand Alpha has asked for you in his study.” An omega came over to inform him.

“I am so disappointed in you, Kyrian.

I still can’t believe you sent Elle away.” Tabitha’s eyes welled up with angry tears.

Kyrian was momentarily startled.

He hadn’t seen tears in his grandmother’s eyes ever since his parents died.

The woman was strong and tough, unbreakable, yet for Elle…

He’d always known she’d loved Elle, and somehow he could understand the pain she was feeling…

How long has it been now?

A hundred and fifty-six days exactly since the last time he’d seen Elle.

He rarely came back home to this mansion because every corner reminded him of her.

“Don’t keep your grandfather waiting.” Tabitha said, the pain still evident in her eyes, overshadowed by deep disappointment.

“Grandma, please…” She turned away before he could even finish his attempt to try to appease her.

How could he tell her that there were so many reasons…

enemies that he couldn’t see or touch.

By the time Kyrian reached his grandfather’s study, he already knew the summons was not going to end pleasantly.

He pushed the heavy wooden door open without knocking.

The first thing that greeted him was silence.

Not the peaceful kind.

His grandfather sat behind the enormous mahogany desk, his hands clasped before him, his expression so still that it was almost more threatening than anger.

The fire burning in the hearth cast restless shadows across the room, but the old alpha didn’t move.

Kyrian closed the door behind him.

“Grandfather.” The old man’s eyes lifted to him.

“You defied me, Kyrian.

You cast aside the very condition with which you currently hold the alpha position!” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Blackangel005 We’ll be going premium tomorrow, the contract process has been completed.
