“What are you doing here?” Kyrian grabbed a robe, tossing it around his shoulders and Claire frowned.

“You don’t have to get dressed, I’m here for you.

You need to get some edge off and let off some steam.” Kyrian barely heard everything she was saying, he grabbed a thin cigar, lit it up and took a long drag just as Claire’s arms wrapped around his waist from behind.

‘Where is she right now?’ ‘Is she eating well, sleeping well?’ ‘Is she all alone or does she have someone to take care of her?’ “Kyrian, are you even listening to me?” Her voice cut through his thoughts and he shifted his gaze from the windows then turned back to Claire.

She was fully naked, her clothes sprawled across the floors.

“It’s not safe for you to go back home late.

I’ll have Micheal drop you off.” His voice came out cold, he was about to walk past her when her eyes lit up with panic and pressed her body to his.

“You’re making me leave?

But you clearly want me, I can feel that you do.

Don’t you love me?” Kyrian gnashed his teeth, “I do love you Claire, but I’ll need you to do as I say.” “No, I won’t listen to you this time.” She looked up at him defiantly, her eyes desperately pleading.

“Fuck me, Kyrian.

Show me how much you really love me!” She whispered seductively.

Kyrian’s hands lifted to push her away but pain suddenly flared, the held in a grunt of agony, his breathing hastening and his grip around Claire’s arm tightened.

The veins along his temples throbbed then turned black.

For a moment, his eyes shut tight before he yanked Claire against his body and his mouth devoured her own in a bruising kiss.

— The Raven ball was just two days away.

Avielle carried a bouquet of Raven roses, handing them to the nearest omega she could find, “Courtney, could you hand these over to the decorator, they’re samples of the flowers for the decor.” “Of course.” The girl took the flowers from her and went off.

“Ava, they want to know if you want this shade of blue or this shade?” Someone stopped her to ask.

Avielle looked between the two colors, a deep midnight blue catching her eyes, “This one.” In just a minute, Avielle couldn’t count the number of people who had approached her to ask her different questions.

She sighed, wondering what Zaden was thinking when he put her in charge of the event management of the ball.

Though she would admit her workload had lessened significantly, she only had to order people around without doing anything herself but that move had still made more people notice her.

The elites would point at her on the streets, especially groups of females, their eyes filled with curiosity, envy, amusement, jealousy.

Especially when Zaden would always be seen around her all the time with the excuse of checking on the progress of the event.

“Pull these to the left please.” She instructed someone placing tables around the hall.

She stopped, noticing some dirt fogging up the mirrors that surrounded the hall.

Sighing, she grabbed a cleaning cloth and began wiping when she heard a voice full of awe.

“Wow, this is magnificent!” Grand Luna Gloria entered the hall with her entourage of serpent shifters she had gotten to follow her around for the ball because of their unmatched beauty.

“I knew it was a great idea to hire Farah Hades for this year’s event, this hall looks so beautiful!

All the Lunas will be so jealous, I’ve never seen anything like this.” The more Luna Gloria looked around, the more in awe she was.

The hall looked so beautiful yet magical and it fit the theme of Raven pack so perfectly, pride welled up in her chest and she almost couldn’t wait for all the guests to arrive.

Organizing events was one of Avielle’s specialities, back at Obsidian she handled it all the time that she’d become really good at it and even she knew it.

“Uhm, Luna…miss Farah backed out and alpha Zaden put miss Ava in charge of the event planning, she designed the theme and the plan, even the decorations.” Courtney chimed sending Avielle a smile.

It seemed she had made one friend here after all.

Avielle returned her smile.

Luna Gloria looked confused, “Who did you say did this?” “Ava, she’s right over there!” When the woman’s eyes found her, she quickly seemed to recognize her.

But something dark and displeased took over that recognition, “You!” Luna Gloria said distastefully.

“Grand Luna.” Avielle greeted with a slight bow.

“I see you haven’t just slid your way into my son’s mind but you’re trying to pave a path in this palace as well.” “I’m just trying to do my job, Grand Luna.” Avielle replied respectfully.

She couldn’t even fault the Luna or her daughter for their behavior towards her, she also had no clue why Zaden was showing such a fierce interest in her.

But that didn’t mean she would tolerate any physical abuse, she didn’t want any mistake that would hurt her babies.

The Grand Luna scoffed, strolling towards one of the hung up decorations then suddenly yanked it off.

“This is hideous, I can’t even look at it.” All the flowers came falling off, fluttering in the air.

Avielle was taken aback, “Grand Luna…” She was silenced by the shattering sound as Luna Gloria tossed a flower vase to the floor, then glanced back quietly to her maids.

They immediately understood the assignment, all of them assaulting the hall.

They flung curtains down, shattered mirrors, scattered the flowers and flipped the tables.

Courtney gasped and looked towards Avielle sympathetically, tears welling up in her eyes.

She knew how hard Avielle had worked to make the hall look so grand and opulent.

“Grand Luna, the alpha has already approved of this hall setting.

You yourself said that it looked good.” Avielle spoke up, feeling a simmering anger she had to keep clamped down.

“Well I changed my mind, it all looks hideous.

How can I expect an ordinary omega to have good taste.

Do it all again, you only have till tomorrow night.” The Luna snapped furiously, but there was sadistic satisfaction behind her eyes.

With that, she turned around with her entourage, leaving the hall.

Avielle sighed, running a hand through her hair frustratedly when she felt the shadow of someone approaching her.

“Luna Avielle?” Her whole body stiffened.

Nobody had called her that in months.

“It’s you isn’t it?

You’re Luna Avielle.”
