PRINCESS CASSY’S POV My gaze darted from Tristine to Luna Amelia as the pounding in my chest grew louder in my ears.

Although I didn’t know what Luna Amelia had hidden up her sleeve, the fact that Alpha Tristine was so worried about it told me it couldn’t be anything good.

Luna Amelia gave a slight nod before slowly letting out a breath.Full novel: Alpha’s Rogue Bride — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You’ve made a wise decision,” she said calmly.

“You have five days to prepare.

You can still change your mind before then.

Just think it through.” Princess Kira gave a slight nod, her gaze remaining firmly fixed on Luna Amelia.

Then Luna Amelia turned to Alpha Tristine.

“Take good care of your wife,” she said calmly.

“The entire pack is expecting an heir.” Her words felt like a mockery, rekindling the dying flames of anger within me.

I couldn’t believe she had said that to my face.

I couldn’t help but wonder if she was mocking me.

The moment we stepped out of the clinic, I couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“What was the meaning of what you did in there?” I muttered through gritted teeth.

Luna Amelia turned to me, surprise flickering across her features.

She looked as though she had no idea what I was talking about, but I wasn’t about to let her pretend otherwise.

I glanced around, making sure no one was close enough before stepping toward her and leaning toward her ear.

“I hope you’re not planning to back down, Luna,” I hissed, my voice dropping into a low growl as I locked eyes with her.

“I hope you haven’t forgotten what’s at stake.” My words were more of a warning than a threat, and I meant every single one of them.

The moment she decided to back down, her secret would be exposed.

Her golden-rimmed eyes searched mine, and I caught the fear lurking in their depths.

“You don’t think I’d be stupid enough to forget that, do you?” she asked after several seconds of holding my gaze.

The calmness in her voice made me let out a breath, but I wasn’t relieved at all.

Not after she had just given the impression of being a loving mother-in-law…

and what was all that talk about crowning Kira as Luna?

“Then why were you so excited about her pregnancy?” I fumed beneath my breath, clenching my fists to keep my anger in check.

“Don’t you know it’s a disadvantage to us?” Luna Amelia’s lips curled upward the moment she heard me.

She scoffed, her shoulders jerking with amusement.

“Of course I do,” she replied calmly, the smile on her face widening.

“That’s why I’ve taken that disadvantage away…

forever.” My brows knitted together as her words sank in, weakening the fury burning within me.

My lips parted, but before I could ask what she meant, Luna Amelia continued.

“You know about the annihilation of the witch doctor fifteen years ago, but I bet you know nothing about the servant who worked for us.” Luna Amelia lifted her chin, holding her head high with pride as the words left her lips.

The crease between my brows deepened at her words.

“What do you mean by that?” The words tumbled from my lips, curiosity lacing every syllable.

She began walking toward the pathway leading to her mansion, while I followed closely behind, waiting patiently for her to continue.

“Remember the rumors about a Blood Fang in the West Wood?” she asked, casting me a brief glance.

“The one Tristine mentioned earlier?” I nodded.

“What about it?” I asked, locking eyes with her.

“Everyone believes it’s a ghost,” she replied, followed by a low, throaty chuckle.

“How ridiculous!” “What they don’t know is that something far worse than a ghost lurks within the West Wood…” She paused, a wicked smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

“A hungry, untamed beast.” I slowly let out a breath as the tension in my shoulders eased.

Hearing that Luna Amelia hadn’t backed out of our plan filled me with relief.

But more than that, it stirred excitement within me.

The thought of Kira being in danger sent a thrill coursing through my veins.

“After the blood sacrifice carried out by the former Alpha of the now-extinct Crystal Moon Pack, as you already know, your father and I continued our pursuit of supernatural powers,” Luna Amelia began again, her gaze turning inward.

“When the witch threatened to expose us if we failed to protect her from the Death Law passed by Tristine’s father fifteen years ago, we had her servant betray her.

He revealed the location of her hideout to us.” “When the witch discovered that her servant had betrayed her, she cursed him, turning him into a bloodthirsty beast—one destined to crave the blood of our pack members.” “We had no choice but to seek another way to contain him.

In the end, we sealed him within the West Wood, where he has remained for the past fifteen years.” I nodded as her words sank in, understanding slowly taking root in my heart.

“He remained silent for years until five years ago, when people heard his wails for the first time.

Tristine was still too young then, so he had no idea what truly lurked within the West Wood.” “So imagine what he’ll do to her if he finds her in those woods after fifteen years of starving for the fresh blood of wolves.” Her lips curled into a smirk as she looked at me, mischief flickering in her eyes.

“I heard his claws have grown long and thick—sharp enough to tear anything in half.” By the time she finished speaking, we were already standing at the entrance of her mansion.

A smirk tugged at my lips, and my heart swelled with excitement as I realized Luna Amelia had everything planned out for our benefit.

Then a low chuckle rumbled from her throat.

“A Rogue Bride as my daughter-in-law?” she hissed as her laughter died down, her eyes blazing as they bored into the distance.

“Not even in their wildest dreams.” As soon as the words left her lips, she strode into her mansion, her hips swaying with every confident step.

Deep down, I was glad my dream would finally come to pass.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized my victory was closer than I had ever imagined.

Suddenly, I realized I hadn’t heard from Agatha since I gave her the assignment.

I hurried to my room and asked Lora to send for her.

About ten minutes later, Agatha followed Lora into my room.

“Princess Cassy,” she greeted, lowering into a bow.

“Any progress on what I asked you to do?” I asked, lifting my chin as I looked down at her.

“I’m sorry, Princess,” she replied, bowing her head.

“I haven’t seen any maid get close to the Alpha since that night, nor has anyone been acting strangely or suspiciously.” I nibbled on my lower lip as soon as I heard her report.

I knew I had to eliminate that threat as soon as possible.

I couldn’t afford to have someone show up later with the unpleasant news of a pregnancy after I had become his Luna.

“Keep your eyes on them.

Make sure you report to me the moment you discover anything,” I instructed, my voice firm.
