Angelo: “Aries, what exactly happened out there?”
Aries: “Kuya, Jay and I were just talking when two cars came speeding straight at us.
I tried to avoid them, but I couldn’t stop the crash.
It was definitely intentional.”
Keifer: (furious) 😡 “I’m going to destroy whoever did this.
How dare they hurt my Jay-Jay!”
Percy: “Keifer, calm down first.
We don’t even know who they were yet.”
Keifer: “I’ll get Edrix and Rory to check the area.”
Edrix and Rory POV:
When Keifer called us, we immediately stepped out to investigate.
We pulled up the local surveillance feeds right away, but the vehicles involved had no license plates.
It was a complete dead end.
We went straight back to report the bad news to Keifer.
Aries: (deeply worried) “Then how are we supposed to figure out who’s behind this?”
Before anyone could answer, a voice called out from down the hallway—Jay-Jay was waking up.
Angelo: “We’ll deal with this later.”
Angelo headed straight for her room, with Aries, Percy, and Keifer right behind him.
Keifer POV:
Whoever planned this isn’t surviving.
Seeing my Jay-Jay in a hospital bed made my blood boil, and when Aries first called me with the news, my heart completely stopped.
I sat right beside her bed, reaching out gently.
“Does it hurt anywhere?”
She gave a faint nod, and I finally let out the breath I felt like I’d been holding for hours.
Jay-Jay POV:
I woke up to the sharp, overpowering smell of hospital disinfectant and hand sanitizer.
👁️👁️ Blinking my eyes open, the surroundings slowly came into focus, and the memory of the crash hit me all at once.
Keifer was sitting right next to my bed, looking at me with pure concern as he asked if I was alright.
I nodded softly.
Looking around the room, I saw the rest of Section E, the girls, Aries, Percy, and Kuya Angelo all gathered together.
I motioned for Aries to come closer.
Aries: “Jay, how are you feeling?”
I said:”I’m okay, Aries.
What about you?”
Aries: “I’m fine, Jay.”
Hearing that, I immediately wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug.
He held me back just as tightly.
When we finally pulled away, Ci-N practically tackled me with a bone-crushing hug of his own—until Keifer grabbed him by the collar and pulled him off.
After chatting with everyone for a bit, Percy stepped forward.
Percy: “How are you feeling, Jay?”
I gave him a nod, and he grinned.
Percy: “Don’t worry, just looking at my handsome face is enough to heal you.”
I stared at him, wondering how someone could be so shamelessly full of himself, while the rest of the group instantly started yelling and throwing insults his way.
My stomach gave a loud growl, so I called out to Keifer and asked if he could get me something to eat.
He agreed and stepped out.
That’s when I noticed Yuri wasn’t anywhere in the room.
Keifer POV:
While everyone was fooling around, Jay-Jay asked me if I could grab her some food since she was starving.
I headed down to the cafeteria and brought back a full tray along with her favorite ice cream.
The moment I walked back into the room, her face lit up completely.
A short while later, Angelo walked in to inform us that the doctor cleared Jay to be discharged.
Once everything was settled, the rest of the group headed home, leaving just me, Aries, Percy, and Angelo with her.
We all headed back to Angelo’s house to make sure she rested comfortably.
I stayed in her room, sitting by her side until she started drifting off.
But just as I stood up to slip out, she reached out and grabbed my arm.
I sat right back down and asked ,”What’s wrong, Jay?”
Jay-Jay POV:
As Keifer turned to leave, I quickly grabbed his arm.
I needed to tell him about what happened yesterday before any misunderstandings could form between us.
I couldn’t handle having secrets between us right now.
He sat back down beside me.
Jay: “Keifer, I need to tell you something.”
Keifer: “What is it, Jay?
Did something happen?”
Jay: “Nothing happened, but promise me you won’t get mad first.”
Keifer: “Why would I ever be mad at you?
Okay, I promise.”
Jay: “Yesterday…
I went to Drew’s house.”
Keifer: “I already know, Jay.
Drew tried calling me, but I missed it.
I called him back late last night to see what it was about, and he told me you came over.
He also mentioned Yuri was there with you since I didn’t answer.”
Jay: “You already knew…
and you weren’t angry?”
Keifer: “I’ll admit I was worried and upset at first, Jay, but not anymore.
Now, give me a kiss as my reward.”
I leaned up and kissed his cheek.
Then I said, “Wait, I actually found out something important.”
Keifer: “What did you find out?”
Jay: “Drew is in massive debt, but it isn’t from gambling like everyone thinks.
He’s actually only gambled once or twice in his entire life.”
Keifer: (confused) “How is that even possible, Jay?
Listen to what you’re saying—he has gambling debts, but he doesn’t gamble?”
Jay: “Let me finish!”
Keifer: “Okay, go on.”
Jay: “The debt actually belongs to his father.
When the loan sharks came looking for the money, his dad ran away and left Drew to deal with all of it.
On top of that, his mother’s mental health is in a really bad state.”
Keifer: (shocked) “How?
He never mentioned any of this to me.”
Jay: “Because he didn’t want anyone looking at him with pity.
That’s the last thing he wanted.”
Keifer: “So how much does he actually owe?”
Jay: “It was originally 9 million, but the loan sharks jacked up the interest rates, so now it’s up to 15 million.
Can you please forgive him, Keifer?”
Keifer: “Forgiving Drew isn’t the problem for me, Jay.
The problem is your safety.”
Jay: “I promise I’ll be careful.
Please forgive him,” I begged, pulling out my best puppy-dog eyes.
🥺 “I know he won’t do anything to hurt us now.”
Keifer: “Fine…
but you have to give me a proper reward.”
Before I could answer, he leaned in, wrapped his arm around my waist, and pulled me into a deep kiss.
We only pulled apart when we were both completely out of breath.
He gently pulled the blanket over me, pressed a soft kiss to my forehead, and walked out of the room.
