Once Keifer left the room, exhaustion finally caught up with me, and I drifted off into a deep sleep.
Next Morning ☀️
I had just finished showering when Aries stepped into my room carrying a tray of food, complete with a bowl of ice cream.
My stomach was practically growling, so I dug in immediately.
When I finished eating, Aries sat near me and said, “Jay, you need to tell Angelo about the hitlist.”
The truth was, I wasn’t ready.
The whole situation felt overwhelming, and I needed time to process it first.
“I’ll tell him when I’m ready,” I said quietly.
Aries: “When will that be?”
“Give me three to five days.” I said.
Aries nodded, accepting my answer, He said,”Alright.
Get ready quickly—Angelo is dropping us off at school today.”
A few minutes later, Angelo dropped us off right in front of the school gates, reminding us both to stay safe before driving off.
Inside the school grounds, Aries headed off toward his own section while I made my way to Section E.
Stepping through the classroom door, the usual chaos greeted me:
Ci-N and Felix were bickering over food, and David was sound asleep at his desk.
Honestly, even if David got an entire week of holiday, he’d still spend his first day back sleeping through class.
Then my eyes caught Keifer’s.
He was watching me from across the room.
I flashed him a soft smile, and his expression instantly softened as he smiled back.
I walked over and took my usual seat right between Ci-N and David.
Keifer POV:
I had been waiting for Jay to arrive all morning.
The moment she walked in and smiled at me, all the tension from yesterday melted away, and I couldn’t help but smile back.
I stood up and raised my voice so the whole room could hear.
“Listen up, Section E.
Nobody leaves during the break—I have an announcement to make.”
Excited murmurs instantly broke out across the room.
Satisfied, I walked over to Jay’s desk and leaned down and asked, “How are you feeling today?”
Jay: “I’m feeling much better now.”
KEIFER:”Before I say anything else…
I want you to know I’m forgiving Drew.”
She practically bolted upright in her seat, her eyes wide.
Jay: “Really?
You mean it?”
She looked completely stunned.
I gave her a firm nod to reassure her.
Seeing her face light up with pure happiness was worth everything—she honestly has no idea what that radiant look does to me.
I leaned in closer with a slight smirk and asked, “So…
what’s my reward for being so generous?”
Jay: “What do you want?”
I gave her a suggestive smirk 😏, and the realization hit her instantly, sending a deep blush across her cheeks.
Before I could teased her any further, Sir Alvin walked into the classroom.
I had to head back to my desk as morning lectures officially began.
Break Time
Jay-Jay POV:
When the bell rang for break, everyone stayed in the classroom just as Keifer had asked.
The room was buzzing with curiosity as all eyes fixed on him.
Keifer slowly stood up from his seat.
The entire room went dead silent as he walked over to Drew’s desk.
Without a word, Keifer reached into his jacket and handed Drew a heavy white envelope.
Drew took it hesitantly, his hands trembling slightly under the gaze of the entire class.
Keifer: (cold, commanding) “Open it.”
Drew carefully broke the seal.
Inside was a check written out for 30 million.
The moment Drew saw the numbers, tears welled up in his eyes, completely breaking his composure.
Drew: (choked up) “Keifer…
I…
I don’t …..
I don’t deserve this.”
Keifer: “Take it and clear your debts.”
Drew: “But the debt is only 15 million!
Why would you give me this much?”
Keifer: “The rest is for your mother’s medical treatments.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Drew stood up and threw his arms around Keifer in a tight hug.
Keifer then turned to the rest of Section E and explained everything about Drew’s situation and what his family had been going through.
Understanding swept through the room, and one by one, the rest of Section E crowded around Drew to hug and support him.
Afterward, Drew walked over to my desk, his head bowed.
“Jay…
thank you so much.
And please…
forgive me for everything.”
I smiled gently at him.
“I already forgave you back when I visited your house, Drew.”
After that emotional moment, the atmosphere lightened up, and everyone headed out to enjoy lunch before finishing up the remaining classes for the day.
When the final bell rang, everyone started heading home in high spirits.
As I gathered my things to leave, Keifer stepped into my path with a playful look.
Keifer: “Where’s my reward?”
I quickly leaned up, pressed a swift kiss to his cheek, and darted out the door before he could catch me!
I sprinted toward the school gate where Aries was already waiting.
Angelo was picking us both up today, so we stood near the entrance together.
Within a few minutes, Angelo pulled up to the curb.
As we climbed into the car, I saw Keifer heading out in his own vehicle, rushing off to an important meeting scheduled for the evening.
Little did I know, the moment Keifer’s car vanished around the corner, a dark, hidden truth would unravel—and the person I trusted most was about to become the biggest threat to everything I loved.
