Not only that, Li You’s ankles were also bound by the sleeves of the Alpha’s jacket, and his mouth was firmly covered by his leather belt, so that his words came out as nothing more than muffled, indecipherable “mhm-mhm-mhm” cries.

Lin Xun drove extremely fast, even receiving several traffic tickets along the way. He threw Li You onto the sofa at home without untying anything, coldly patted Li You’s face telling him to wait obediently, and then left.

After tying Li You up and bringing him home, Lin Xun did not return to handle his work. Instead, he drove to a private clinic.Full novel: An Obsessive Alpha Covets The Honest Beta — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Since Li You’s brain hadn’t been damaged by the impact, he must be sick.

Everyone gets sick; it was very common.

Thinking of this, Lin Xun surprisingly calmed down at an unprecedented speed. The idea that “Li You is just sick” comforted him every second, and the pressing matter at hand was to help cure his illness.

When he arrived and pushed open the door, the wind chimes at the entrance jingled. The receptionist nurse looked up, immediately put down her work, and came forward to greet him, softly informing him that Doctor Zhou was currently seeing a patient and it would take about ten more minutes.

The nurse offered to lead him to his dedicated waiting room, but Lin Xun glanced around the hall, casually pulled a book out from a semi-circular bookshelf, sat down on a nearby sofa, and waved his hand to send the nurse away.

The entire hall was silent, with only the sounds of pages turning and the soft clink of a cup bottom touching the table, the noise was negligible.

This clinic was located in a far suburb, away from the bustling noise of the city center. Most of the time was spent in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, shedding impatience and anxiety, serene and harmonious, seemingly more aligned with the core theme of a psychological clinic.

“Mr. Lin, Doctor Zhou is waiting for you upstairs.” After waiting for a short while, Lin Xun put the book in his hand back in its original place, took the elevator, swiped his card, and went up to the top floor.

The decoration of this clinic was not as stark and sterile as a hospital; instead, it was mainly minimalistic, pairing a natural wood tone with soft cream white. Warm light strips were embedded inside the corridor walls, and green plants along with rattan decorations were placed by every window, presenting a neat, elegant, and comforting view.

“Long time no see, Young Master Lin. How do you have the free time to drop by and relax today?”

Pushing open the consultation room door, the voice arrived before the person was seen. Lin Xun pulled over a chair, casually picked up a neutral pen on the desk, and began absentmindedly spinning it.

The person behind him was changing tea leaves in the pantry. When he returned, he lifted the lid of his thermos cup, causing a rich tea aroma to overflow and fill the entire room.

Lin Xun put down the pen and got straight to the point: “There is a very troublesome matter that I need your help to resolve.”

Zhou Jing let out a rare “Oh-ho”, put down his thermos cup, straightened his white coat, pulled out the past medical records, slid down to the blank space at the bottom, and nodded to signal: “Go ahead.”

Lin Xun crossed his hands in front of himself, resting his back against the chair back, leaning back slightly. Hearing this, he first lowered his eyes in silence, his fingers casually tapping on his thigh, seemingly organizing his words.

Zhou Jing was used to this, he was accustomed to his consultation style, or more accurately, his way of opening up.

“There is a very important person. He is sick.”

Zhou Jing’s typing hand paused. In all these years, this was the first time he had heard Lin Xun mention a person unrelated to himself.

“A very important person?” Zhou Jing asked, “Is it a lover, a family member, or a friend?”

Lin Xun said, “A lover.”

Zhou Jing felt it was unbelievable, but out of professional ethics, he still asked according to the protocol: “A psychological illness? Has it been diagnosed? Or is there any abnormal behavior he is currently exhibiting?”

Lin Xun sat up slightly straighter and answered: “His behavior is indeed abnormal, because he resists me greatly.”

Zhou Jing frowned, “Resists? What is the behavioral logic behind this?”

Lin Xun said, “He loves his husband very much. I don’t think he holds much genuine affection for me.”

Silence fell over the air for a few seconds, as Zhou Jing’s fingers resting on the keyboard refrained from moving for a long time.

He looked strangely at the opposite side, and after a long pause, euphemistically extracted Lin Xun’s core request: “What you mean is, he loves his husband very much, but doesn’t love you, so you think he is sick?”

“You can understand it that way, I have no objection.”

Zhou Jing looked troubled, surrendering with both hands raised, “Forgive me for asking, why do you think he should love you?”

Lin Xun countered, “Why shouldn’t he?”

Because he has a family and a marriage, hello!

Zhou Jing raged helplessly in his heart, yet maintained his composure on the surface, smiling: “Hmm… you said he resists you greatly, so what is your current relationship? Or to what extent have you interacted?”

Lin Xun said calmly, “We cohabit.”

The corner of Zhou Jing’s mouth twitched. He endured and endured, then asked an off-topic question: “Is he voluntary…”

“I currently have no intention of imprisoning him,” Lin Xun leaned forward, supporting his elbows on the desktop, crossing his ten fingers, and said calmly and composedly: “Because he is exceptionally affectionate, he even threatened me not to touch a single finger of his husband’s, which makes things very difficult for me.”

“Of course, I greatly appreciate this valuable quality of his, it’s just that he used it on the wrong person. If you can quietly erase that memory of his, or replace the person he misses in his heart with me, I think the problem will be readily solved.”

“You are an expert in this field, and you have successfully handled similar cases before, so I believe you have this capability.”

“…Pfft!” Zhou Jing spat out a mouthful of hot tea onto the desktop, wetting the keyboard and the documents beside it.

He pulled out a tissue to wipe it a few times casually, then pressed his temples as if having a headache, looking utterly hopeless: “First of all, Mr. Lin, I think I must maintain the most fundamental professional ethics. Furthermore, replacing memories or memory reconstruction carries unimaginable risks; even for extreme patients, very few people choose this method for the sake of relief,” speaking up to this point, Zhou Jing’s tone turned faint, seemingly filled with a bit of resentment: “Lastly, and most importantly, I am still young. Spending the rest of my life in prison would be a very tragic thing. Don’t you think that is a bit cruel to me?”

Lin Xun, however, expressed deep regret regarding this.

“Love cannot be forced. When the fate arrives for this kind of thing, it will naturally fall into place. As the saying goes, forced melon isn’t sweet, and forced love won’t yield any good results either.” Zhou Jing gave up on writing the medical record, turning instead to preach principles to Lin Xun, attempting to guide this Alpha away from straying onto the wrong path.

Lin Xun’s expression was very subtle, so subtle that it gave him a strange sense of unease. After a long silence, he heard Lin Xun say with light composure: “Looking at the current situation, he gets so disgusted he feels like vomiting just by seeing me once, so the probability of him falling in love with me is no different from encountering a ghost in broad daylight. Therefore, what I am forcing is not love, but him as a person.”

Zhou Jing rubbed his nose and said in a muffled voice: “How about… you find someone else to like?”

Lin Xun stood up to leave. When he reached the doorway, he paused his steps again, turned his head back, and said serenely yet firmly: “Only him.”

Zhou Jing spread his hands: “Why bother? You’re so stubborn about tearing him and his husband apart. Maybe they will hate you in the future, it’s not worth the loss.”

Lin Xun flatly denied it: “He just forgot. I will make him remember.”

These words left Zhou Jing completely baffled and confused.

“Alright then, but I still must remind you,” Zhou Jing sighed, saying helplessly: “Given your own condition, you might develop cognitive deviations regarding such intimate relationships… in short, try to treat it rationally as much as possible. Good luck to you.”

Lin Xun answered politely: “Thank you, I am very rational.”

Only after the person left did Zhou Jing fall heavily back into his chair. Holding the glasses on the bridge of his nose, he switched the medical record back to the cover page, rubbing his thumb joint against his teeth, and flipped through it page by page once more.

The cover page, at the top, basic patient information swept past at a glance.
