Chapter 13: #THIRTEEN

AN OMEGA'S CYCLE: TRAPPED IN HEAT WITH MY FOUR STEPBROTHERS.

Nicholas’s POV

I was dumbfounded to see a familiar car in front of the school, and standing by the door were people I’d never have expected.

Roman, Cassian and Adrian.

All of them standing here with their Alpha aura exuding dominance and possessiveness. When they saw me, they straightened up, making me realize that they were here for either me or Elijah.

"We’ve been waiting for you." Cassian said softly as he took my hand and I just gaped at them in horror, mixed with confusion.

They were actually waiting for me.

Whispers surrounded me as I picked up students talking about me and why I had three scary alphas come pick me up from school.

I hated the attention I was beginning to get and it was all because of them. It made me so mad that I yanked my hand out of their grip, staring at them in despair.

"Why are you here?" I asked in frustration and they exchanged glances. "I’m not a baby that you need to pick up from school."

"Just get in. You don’t wanna cause a scene now." Adrian muttered, pulling the door open and I scoffed in disbelief.

"You already caused a scene when you showed up at my school with a fancy car and alpha’s aura." I complained as I got in, scooting to the end.

Roman got in beside me and Cassian entered with him, while Adrian took the driver’s seat and Elijah got into the passenger seat.

"You don’t like it?" Roman asked and my hands clenched into fists as the car sped down the road.

My stomach churned as the car moved and it made me want to throw up immediately. But I swallowed it down as I sat up.

"This isn’t right." I complained as they turned their attention to me. "First, Elijah follows me around and makes me so uncomfortable. And now all three of you showed up to ’pick me up’ like I’m some kind of child. I’m not a baby." I added and they went silent, staring at me.

"Do you see what happened out there? Everyone was staring. I almost got sent out of class twice today. I like to be invincible but you guys are making it hard to keep it that way!" I said in exasperation and suddenly, pheromones filled the car that almost had me choking.

"You keep forgetting your place, Nicholas." Roman muttered coldly as he gripped my chin and I flinched in fear. "Have you forgotten who you are? Who helped you when you were pathetic? What gives you the balls to talk to alphas like this?" He snapped and fear filled me as my heart sank to my chest.

This was why no one should ever find out about my identity. The stupid hierarchy would be used to make me cower and submit like a slave.

These men... they were no different.

They were just as awful as other alphas out there.

None of them said anything to stop him from nearly choking me with his pheromones. They probably would do the same too.

"You’re just an omega, Nicholas. Do not forget your place. Or I’ll remind you. And it won’t be nice, sweetheart." He added coldly and I let out a whimper of fear as I nodded in understanding.

"I’m sorry... alpha." I whispered and his gaze finally softened as he let me go. A tear rolled down my cheek as I turned away from him, wanting to curl into a ball and disappear.

Throughout the car ride, I didn’t dare look at any of them as I kept my gaze on the window, wanting to throw up everything in my stomach.

When the car finally stopped at the gates of the estate, I rushed out, throwing up into the grass as I fell to my knees.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as everything in my stomach came out until I was coughing violently.

None of them got out to help and I couldn’t help but scoff in disappointment.

Why did I think that alphas could be better than my mom used to say? I finally understood why she wanted me to keep my identity all these while.

To avoid bullshit like this.

When I got up and wiped my lips, the door opened like they were asking me to get back in. But I chose to ignore it and started walking back to the mansion on foot.

To hell with them.

The car sped away anyway and I decided to walk around the estate before returning to the mansion. By the time I arrived back home, the sun was already setting and Elijah was waiting by the door, a look of worry on his face.

How fake.

"Where were you? Why didn’t you just come in the car with us?" He asked as soon as I came in, but I ignored him, making my way up the stairs. "Nicholas."

"Well, my apologies, Alpha. This omega just wanted some time of his own. That is a crime too?" I asked in exasperation and he froze, his eyes widening.

I knew the rest of them heard me as they were gathered in the dining room but I didn’t even care anymore. When he didn’t respond, I continued upstairs, getting into my room and slamming the door shut.

I ran my hand through my hair in frustration as I walked into the bathroom and turned the shower on. Without taking off any clothing on me, I lay on the ground, staring at the ceiling as the water dropped on me like rain.

Maybe I should have begged Mom to let me stay at our former home. Or maybe even move to the campus’ dorm. Anything to be away from these awful alphas.

They were the ones who caused a scene yet it was my fault for speaking up because I was an omega and they were goddamn alphas. Fucking assholes!

I wanted to scream. But what good will it do?

I finally dragged myself off the ground when cold began to seep into my body and changed the temperature of the water.

After stripping off all my clothes, I finally took a bath, remembering what happened last night. How I let them treat me like a whore and a slave.

It was my fault anyway.

After freshening up and hiding myself under the blanket, I watched the day turn into night. I was hungry but I refused to face those narcissistic alphas again.

I tried to fall asleep but just then, I heard a knock on my door, making my heart fly to my throat. I sat up, wondering who it was.

"Who’s there?" I called out but got no answer. I eventually got up and opened the door, shocked to see Roman standing there with a food tray in his hands.

"You didn’t come down for dinner." He said plainly as he walked into the room and my lips thinned into a straight line.

I had no choice but to close the door behind me when he sat down on my bed.

"I wasn’t hungry." I lied and my stomach just had to choose to grumble at that moment, making me grimace in embarrassment.

"Yeah, your stomach doesn’t seem to agree with you." Roman replied with a snort as he set the tray down on the bed. "Come and eat."

"I’m fine." I said defiantly and he got up, making his way to me. "You can leave, Alpha. A mere omega like me doesn’t deserve to be around you." I added and he scoffed, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the bed.

"Quit that nonsense and eat. Or I’ll shove the food down your throat." He said sternly and I couldn’t help but glare at him.

I wished I could hate him.

"Go on. Sit and eat. I’ll be here." He muttered and I had no choice but to sit down and take the food tray. "You have to eat everything."

I wanted to tell him not to tell me what to do.

But I simply rolled my eyes instead and started to eat, almost groaning in happiness when I felt the savoury taste of the chicken soup.

I cleared the plate in less than five minutes and when I gulped down the glass of water, he looked satisfied as he took the tray from me. He placed it on the nightstand and then took a seat beside me, making me feel nervous.

I inched away from him but he kept scooting closer until I stood up. Before I could move away, he grabbed my hand, pulling me so that I fell right on top of him.

"Please let me go, alpha." I said shakily and he hissed in displeasure, running his fingers through my hair.

"Stop calling me that." He said and I was taken aback.

"What? Alpha? Didn’t you remind me of what we were in the car earlier?" I asked in contempt, unable to stop myself and he sighed.

"I’m sorry." He whispered and my body stiffened against his.

Did he... just apologize?
