It felt as though he had awakened from a long dream.
Memories of his previous life intertwined with those of this one.
After awakening to his past and recalling the entire plot, Inuyasha was left somewhat numb.
As his memories returned, his spiritual power also surged.
He could now awaken from the seal of his own will.
When Inuyasha opened his eyes, he found himself surrounded by a lush forest.
His gaze fell nearby.
The shrine approach where the bloodstained priestess had once stood, her face resolute as she fired the sealing arrow at him, had long since vanished beneath the passage of time and become overgrown with weeds.
“Even after everything that happened, it’s not too late to turn things around.
I won’t give up on Kikyo, and I won’t let Kagome go either.” “Everything will be different this time.” “I’m going to have it all!” Inuyasha murmured under his breath, his eyes settling on the sealing arrow that had pierced his heart and pinned him to the Sacred Tree.
‘Kikyo’s scent has almost completely faded.
With my current strength…’ Hiss!
Smoke rose from his injured hand.
He lowered it with a deep frown, yet he could not help admiring his wife.
Judging by the abandoned, ruined surroundings, at least a dozen years had passed.
Yet the arrow his wife left behind after her death was still as powerful as ever.
‘Don’t tell me I really have to hang from this tree for fifty years and wait for Kagome.
I’m neither a sword waiting in a lake nor Sleeping Beauty.’ Inuyasha watched his right hand steadily heal.
Although his half-demon body lacked Sesshomaru’s rapid regeneration, his Great Demon blood still gave him resilience far beyond that of ordinary yokai.
His hand recovered in less than a minute.
He sniffed the air, considering whether anyone nearby might be able to help him.
‘Kaede is out.
She always listened to Kikyo.
If she learns I’m awake, she might come over and put another arrow through me.’ Fifty years later, Kaede had immediately taken out the Beads of Subjugation as soon as he broke free.
That alone had told Inuyasha just how much hostility the little brat held toward him.
In everyone else’s eyes, he had coveted the Shikon Jewel and was the true culprit behind Kikyo’s death.
‘I can’t exactly blame them.
I was so trapped in my own assumptions back then that I failed to see through Naraku’s scheme when he disguised himself as Kikyo.
That was what caused this entire tragedy…’ Inuyasha tilted his head and gazed at the shafts of light filtering through the leaves, then shook his head.
The slight movement tugged at the arrow in his heart, and the piercing pain snapped him back to his senses.
It also reminded him that he was still alive—and as long as he lived, there was hope.
‘The other villagers aren’t capable of helping me either.
What about a passing yokai?’ ‘I remember Sesshomaru leading the dog demons of the Western Lands in a fierce battle against the Panther Devas while I was sealed.
He sent Jaken to find me during the fighting, but the scents in the air…’ ‘They’re all human.’ ‘I hope Jaken gets here soon…’ ‘Hm?
What’s this?’ ‘My cheat finally arrived!’ Without warning, a mysterious power emerged from the depths of his soul.
It pierced the boundary between illusion and reality, then poured into his body.
His strength, potential, lifespan, skills, and everything else doubled from their original levels.
He had even gained a supernatural power system that did not belong to this world.
[I Alone Across the Myriad Worlds] Once every ten years, the user can consolidate himself and absorb one random [Alternate Self] from across the myriad worlds, strengthening the [Prime Self] in every aspect.
This enhancement applies not only to the body and mind.
Even supernatural power systems can cross dimensional barriers and transfer over without restriction.
“The [Alternate Self] I obtained this time possessed the Blazer power system from Chivalry of a Failed Knight.” A divine light flickered in Inuyasha’s eyes.
Blazers possessed the power to manifest their souls as weapons known as Devices.
In the past, such weapons had been called Sacred Swords, Magic Bows, Noble Phantasms, and many other names.
A Device served as the medium for Noble Arts, much like a mage’s staff did when casting spells.
A Blazer could decide whether their Device inflicted physical harm.
In Phantom Form, it dealt no physical damage and instead used magic power to directly drain an opponent’s stamina.
Blazer abilities were supernatural powers beyond the observation of science.
The strongest could freely control the flow of time, while even the weakest could raise their physical abilities to superhuman levels.
At the same time, a Device was the physical manifestation of a Blazer’s soul.
If it was destroyed, its owner would suffer a mental collapse and lose consciousness.
‘A physical manifestation of the soul…
That’s rather similar to the Zanpakuto in Bleach.’ ‘Perhaps I’ll have a chance to merge my Device with a Zanpakuto someday.
But for now…’ “Break!” A new power formed from demonic energy and magic power enveloped his right hand.
Inuyasha gripped the sealing arrow and pulled it free with ease.
In an instant, the sealing arrow shattered into motes of light and vanished beneath the sun.
His long-dormant heart began beating once more.
Scalding blood rushed through his entire body, and the joy of receiving a new lease on life welled up from within him.
Even the Great Demon blood he had never been able to control began stirring restlessly.
Inuyasha landed lightly on the ground, tore through the branches blocking his way with a swipe of his claws, and walked to the spot where Kikyo had last stood.
When he looked back, the Sacred Tree stood peacefully beneath the sunlight.
A gentle breeze passed through the forest, rustling the dense branches.
Everything looked calm and untouched by time.
“You chose not to kill me because you wanted me to sleep here forever, didn’t you, Kikyo…?” “You really could never be honest with yourself!” Inuyasha snorted softly, then turned and headed toward the nearby Bone-Eater’s Well.
During the Sengoku period, the Bone-Eater’s Well was used specifically to dispose of yokai remains.
To most people, yokai corpses that could not easily be purified held no value.
Worse still, they attracted other yokai and created needless danger.
There was no consistent rule governing which era those remains were sent to.
However, Inuyasha knew one thing for certain: Kagome was the only person who could travel through it freely.
The Bone-Eater’s Well possessed its own awareness and purpose, allowing only certain people or objects to pass through.
Mistress Centipede and Yura of the Hair’s severed hair had only been allowed through because the well needed them to draw Kagome into the Sengoku period.
The same principle even applied to Inuyasha.
The origins of both the Bone-Eater’s Well and the Sacred Tree had long been lost to history.
They were ancient existences that predated even the Shikon Jewel.
Before long, Inuyasha reached the Bone-Eater’s Well.
A square wooden well roughly one meter across stood before him.
“Did people stop using the Bone-Eater’s Well as often because I was sealed here?” “Inuyasha Forest?
What kind of terrible name is that?
I’ll have to teach that brat Kaede a lesson later.” Inuyasha sniffed the faint yokai scent in the air, then kicked off the ground and leaped above the well.
A sharp flash of his claws shredded every vine covering the opening, and he dropped into the empty bottom of the well.
He immediately jumped back out.
After looking around the familiar forest, he stopped wasting his time and set off through the sunlight toward Kaede’s Village.
