Afternoon sunlight slanted across the cliff, stretching the shadows of Inuyasha and Yura between the jagged rocks.
“Master, don’t hold back.” Yura stood atop a protruding boulder.
Her long black hair had formed into pythons that slowly writhed behind her, while her seductive eyes gleamed with eager excitement.
After she awakened her Device, Thousand-Thread Dominion, Inuyasha suggested that they test it in a sparring match.
Naturally, Yura had no reason to refuse.
“Enough talk.
Come at me.” Inuyasha rolled his neck and wrists, his eyes reflecting the demoness as she winked and blew him a kiss.
Skip one day of discipline, and she would climb onto the roof and tear off the tiles.
Skip two, and she would rebel on the spot.
He had no intention of waking up one day to find himself suspended and drained dry.
He needed to keep the pressure on her.
Yura attacked first.
Dozens of slender hairs shot toward Inuyasha from every direction like steel needles, screaming as they tore through the air.
Inuyasha shifted slightly and swung his right hand.
Sankon Tesso!
Golden claws flashed, severing the hairs and sending fragments fluttering through the sunlight.
“Too weak.” Inuyasha’s mouth curved upward, though his fingers trembled slightly.
Cutting through those hairs had felt no different from slicing through steel rebar.
Before Yura awakened Thousand-Thread Dominion, he would not have needed his claws.
He could have charged straight through her hair with his face and emerged without a scratch.
Her Device had increased the strength of her hair dozens of times over.
“Is that so?” Yura chuckled as her slender fingers twisted and pulled like butterflies darting through flowers.
The next instant, thumb-thick black strands filled every inch of space, from within the rocks beneath Inuyasha’s feet to the sky overhead.
Layer upon layer intertwined around him, forming an airtight cage of death.
Inuyasha swung both claws repeatedly, weaving a net of golden light through the air.
The hair still tore apart, but he could clearly feel its resistance.
Each strand required two or three strikes before it was completely severed.
Fragments fell like black snow, yet more hair poured endlessly toward him from every direction.
When the strands swept across the cliff, solid rock parted like tofu beneath a blade, leaving behind trenches so deep their bottoms could not be seen.
The entire cliff shook beneath the rampaging hair.
Rocks collapsed, and dust blotted out the sky.
The strands sliced the sunlight into countless flickering patches that danced across the cliff like an apocalyptic frenzy.
Inuyasha laughed as his expression grew serious.
“Now this is interesting.” “Master, we’ve only just begun.” Yura’s ten fingers danced.
The ends of her hair suddenly swelled into nine fox tails and struck from nine directions like enormous python whips, each one flexible enough to change its angle constantly.
Inuyasha caught one with his claws.
Golden light scraped across its surface but left behind only a shallow white mark, which healed before his eyes.
“What?!” His pupils contracted, but the remaining eight tails were already upon him.
With no time to think, Inuyasha kicked off the ground and shot backward like an arrow.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The giant tails repeatedly smashed into the ground as he dodged.
One swept through the forest along the edge of the cliff, tearing down a vast stretch of trees.
The surviving green leaves yellowed at the same speed Inuyasha shoveled down rice.
They withered and fell, turning the forest into a lifeless wasteland within a few breaths.
Inuyasha’s eye twitched.
The power of Thousand-Thread Dominion was revealing itself with every exchange.
Attack, defense, control, absorption, regeneration—Thousand-Thread Dominion had elevated Yura’s hair manipulation to an entirely new level.
In some respects, it rivaled the Wood Release of Senju Hashirama from Naruto.
“Inuyasha-sama, don’t run away.
Keep showing me your mighty, virile dominance!” Replenished by the life force she had absorbed, Yura’s demonic energy surged.
She flew into the sky as nine giant tails spread behind her, making her resemble a nine-tailed fox demon baring its fangs.
Sunlight streamed from behind her, casting her beautiful face between light and shadow.
Her pink eyes overflowed with triumphant satisfaction.
The dog had always knocked her flat before.
At last, she had finally regained some dignity.
As for how her master would “whip” her after the spar, that would come after she had enjoyed herself.
Why worry about it now?
Inuyasha landed upon a tree and looked up at the smug demoness in the sky.
His mouth slowly spread into a grin.
“Yura, you’re getting carried away.” His right hand reached toward his waist.
Tessaiga flashed from its sheath!
The rust-covered blade looked utterly unimpressive in the sunlight.
As Inuyasha poured his will into it, however, the rust flaked away and revealed the majestic fang-forged blade beneath.
The blade that protects humans, the Sword of the Human Realm—Tessaiga.
A single swing could destroy a hundred demons!
Fierce demonic energy rose from the blade, blowing Inuyasha’s silver hair backward.
He had wielded Tessaiga for two months and already handled it with ease.
His Backlash Wave still needed some refinement, but the Wind Scar had become second nature.
Having witnessed its power, Yura’s smile froze slightly, and she pouted.
“Inuyasha-sama, you’re using Tessaiga against me?
Are you serious?” “Weren’t you the one who told me not to hold back?” Inuyasha rested Tessaiga across his shoulder, amusement appearing in his eyes.
He was not some penniless dog without resources.
Tessaiga could continuously devour demonic energy and evolve; it was powerful enough to serve as a cheat ability by itself.
‘I took Yura’s true comb before the fight.
Now I can cut her down without any trouble.’ The younger dog had harbored that intention from the beginning.
He narrowed his eyes at Yura, who suddenly shuddered, and raised his voice.
“Come.
Show me exactly how powerful your Thousand-Thread Dominion has become.” The wind across the cliff abruptly intensified.
Sensing his killing intent, Yura focused with everything she had.
Her ten fingers danced, and crimson fire suddenly ignited along her black hair.
The burning strands thrashed through the air and transformed into several roaring flame dragons.
Carrying waves of scorching heat and the scent of death, they charged toward Inuyasha.
Rock melted and air twisted wherever they passed, while the entire cliff trembled.
“Come on!” Inuyasha advanced instead of retreating.
He gripped Tessaiga with both hands as demonic energy surged through him.
“Wind Scar!” The Wind Scar was born from the collision of demonic energy.
Tessaiga controlled that energy and accelerated the collision.
By striking the gap between the currents of demonic energy released by an opponent, it created a violent hurricane capable of killing hundreds of demons in a single blow.
And so—Inuyasha swung.
The fierce blade light became a world-rending storm filled with countless fragments of sharpened demonic energy, crashing directly into the flame dragons.
Every flame dragon shattered before the Wind Scar and was torn into sparks by the demonic gale.
Even the distant white clouds split apart, leaving a vast wake across the sky.
With a single strike, Yura’s full-power attack vanished without a trace.
Before the blade light could fade, Inuyasha shot through the storm of fragments like a meteor.
Yura’s pupils contracted.
She tried to evade, but it was already too late.
The silver-haired half-demon had appeared before her, both hands gripping Tessaiga as he brought it down in a mountain-splitting overhead strike.
