“Why is Butler Zhao driving?”

Li Yiyi explained what had happened. Then she asked, “How are you feeling now? Do you notice any changes in your body?”

Fu Sizhe paused for a moment before extending his hand.Full novel: Apocalypse: After Transmigration the Scheming Female Cannon Fodder Clings to the Male Lead’s Leg — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A ball of wind suddenly appeared above his palm, his fingers long and well-defined.

“Wow! Is there anything else?”

Li Yiyi thought about the male lead’s all-around abilities described in the original novel and eagerly anticipated fireballs, earth balls, and lightning balls.

Fu Sizhe looked at her in confusion.

“What else?”

Li Yiyi was puzzled.

Why was this different from what the book had said?

She guessed it was because of the butterfly effect. Many things had already changed. For example, Fu Sizhe had not returned to Beijing with Jiang Jibai, and she had found Jiang Jibai’s Storage Bracelet. Now, even Fu Sizhe’s ability awakening was different from what had happened in the novel.

“President Fu, Mrs. Fu, we’re here.”

Butler Zhao parked the black Buick in the high-speed rail station parking lot. The three of them rushed toward the security checkpoint.

Before long, Li Yiyi and Butler Zhao had fallen far behind.

Fu Sizhe was simply too fast.

The two of them were exhausted and gasping for breath. They did not even have the strength to call out for him to slow down.

By the time they finally reached him, Fu Sizhe had already been standing at the entrance for quite some time.

“Your physical fitness is too poor. Once we get to Beijing, I’ll train you both every day.”

Butler Zhao looked miserable and shook his head in despair.

Li Yiyi, however, was looking forward to it.

She wanted to become stronger.

The security checkpoint was very different from usual. Everyone had to pass through a machine emitting a green fluorescent glow.

“What is this?” Li Yiyi asked the security officer.

The security officer remained silent.

They did not know either. Headquarters had temporarily sent it down the previous day.

Suddenly, a little boy who had already passed through the security checkpoint came running back in tears.

“I don’t want to take the train! I don’t want to go to Beijing to find Dad! I want to stay at home!”

No matter what he did, he could not pass back through the fluorescent machine.

It was a one-way gate.

His mother wore a blank expression as she took him to the waiting room.

Judging from the situation, although there were zombies in the city, things were still under control.

At least these public places were relatively safe.

“Are you sure none of you have been infected with the virus?” the security officer asked seriously.

Li Yiyi nodded cooperatively.

“We haven’t been injured, and we haven’t been infected.”

The three of them arrived at the platform.

There were very few people around.

During this critical period, staying at home was the safest option, so no one wanted to go outside.

Fu Sizhe and Butler Zhao were discussing their route after returning to Beijing.

Li Yiyi stood nearby, kicking her feet lightly as she waited for the train.

“Yiyi”

A gentle, clear voice came from the platform beside them.

Li Yiyi looked over and saw a refined, aloof man with an aura similar to Jiang Jibai’s waving at her.

His skin was very fair, his features handsome and refined, and his manner elegant and scholarly.

When he saw her, he smiled warmly.

“Yiyi, why are you here too?”

Almost instantly, Li Yiyi felt the atmosphere around Fu Sizhe on her left grow colder.

She did not recognize the man.

She answered politely, “I just came back from Antarctica with my husband.”

The aloof man looked surprised.

“You’re married? So soon? Weren’t you still telling me you were single last month?”

The atmosphere became even colder.

Li Yiyi desperately blinked at him, signaling for him to stop talking.

“Yiyi, what’s wrong with your eyes?”

Li Yiyi felt her vision go dark.

She simply closed her eyes.

The aloof man walked over.

“Let me blow on them for you.”

Li Yiyi immediately grabbed Fu Sizhe and pulled him in front of her.

“Thank you, but there’s no need. My husband is here. He’ll help me.”

Fu Sizhe’s eyes were icy, and the atmosphere around him had dropped to freezing point.

The aloof man took a step back.

“Oh, your husband is here too. I just came back from the north after collecting penguin research samples.”

He took a stack of documents out of his bag.

Li Yiyi saw his name.

Jiang Wangchuan.

So it was him.

Fu Sizhe had gotten angry over this name last time and then…

Li Yiyi felt her waist start aching again.

Li Yiyi nodded.

“Oh! I’ll stop talking to you for now. My husband might get upset.”

Jiang Wangchuan smiled politely and walked to a platform farther away, where he stood watching her from a distance.

Li Yiyi was about to hide beside Butler Zhao. She really did not want to deal with Fu Sizhe’s jealousy.

But Butler Zhao was already looking at her indignantly.

Then she felt someone pinch the back of her neck.

Fu Sizhe’s cold voice sounded.

“You actually know I’ll get upset?”

Li Yiyi immediately changed tactics.

She turned around and looked at Fu Sizhe pitifully. With her right hand, she pinched her waist hard, forcing tears to well up in her eyes.

Fu Sizhe’s handsomeness was different from that of the aloof man just now.

His features were cold and hard, with an untamed edge to him.

Fu Sizhe awkwardly turned his head away.

“It’s all my fault. You didn’t care about me, so I was heartbroken and ended up doing something like that.”

She tightly wrapped her arms around his lean waist.

“I won’t ever do it again.”

Fu Sizhe lowered his head.

From this angle, his wife looked incredibly obedient. Her cheeks were fair and soft, her eyelashes long and thick, with tiny droplets of tears clinging to them.

She was beautiful.

It would have been even better if she had not just committed an act of “cheating.”

“It really won’t happen again, Brother Ze. Please forgive me.”

Fu Sizhe said in a deep voice, “This is your only warning.”

Li Yiyi nodded.

She rubbed all her tears and mucus onto his chest before turning her head and seeing Butler Zhao silently mouth two words:

“Shameless woman.”

Li Yiyi stuck out her tongue at him.

Fu Sizhe saw the entire exchange.

His eyes darkened.

If there was a next time, he would not let her off so easily.

None of the three noticed that Jiang Wangchuan was watching them from a distance, his eyes filled with disappointment.

Beep!

The high-speed train pulled in and stopped in front of them.

The high-speed trains were now fully automated and always ran on schedule.

Butler Zhao was not in the same carriage as the other two and went to board elsewhere.

The business-class seats were already sold out, so Li Yiyi and Fu Sizhe could only buy adjacent first-class seats.

Li Yiyi continued quietly coaxing him.

“Brother Ze, there really was nothing between me and him. We only talked a few times.”

She had to make sure the male lead developed a favorable impression of her and would not easily abandon her.

Fu Sizhe was getting annoyed by her explanations.

“Tell me clearly now. Exactly how many peach blossom debts have you accumulated? I’ll give you one chance.”

Oh no.

She had taken things too far.

Li Yiyi lowered her voice.

“I don’t know…”

She genuinely did not know.

The corner of Fu Sizhe’s lips curled into a cold smile.

“Good. Very good.”

He turned his head and stopped speaking.

Seeing that he was angry, Li Yiyi started looking at her phone.

【The Antarctic Ice Has Melted. Antarctica No Longer Exists.】

Li Yiyi’s eyes widened.

With trembling fingers, she clicked on the report.

It was true.

The entire continent of Antarctica had been swallowed by seawater.

【Summary: The flooding of Antarctica was caused by the combined effects of marine organisms expanding and the melting of the ice sheets.】

Li Yiyi thought about the research station and all the scientists there.

They should all be dead.

That was what the apocalypse was like.

Things would only become more brutal from here.

【Please do not panic. Other than Antarctica, the other continents without ice sheets will not experience the same situation.】

Li Yiyi sighed.

Other places would face even more terrifying disasters.

No one could remain untouched by the apocalypse.

“Hello.”

A young mother was sitting across the aisle, holding a baby who was crying nonstop.

“I’m sorry. He’s usually very well-behaved. He’ll stop crying soon.”

Li Yiyi waved her hand, indicating that she did not mind.

“Cry, cry, cry. You’re driving me crazy. If you keep crying, I’ll throw you out.”

The bald man sitting diagonally in front of them was annoyed.

One of his arms was covered in tattoos, making him look extremely intimidating.

“I’m sorry.”

The young mother repeatedly apologized.

Seeing her face, the bald man’s expression softened slightly, and he lowered his voice.

“Hurry up and calm him down.”

The high-speed train started moving.

The city was left behind.

Li Yiyi desperately hoped that the zombies only existed in this city.

But that was impossible.

There were zombies everywhere.

Suddenly, she sensed an unusual fluctuation of energy coming from diagonally in front of her.
