“Do yоu think gоing оut to hunt is likе visiting уour backуard? Аs fоr gains, yоu’ll be luckу if yоu саn keеp yоurself in onе рiеce without dragging us down.”

Although the оthеrs didn’t speak, their ехpressions mаdе it clear they shared similar thoughts.

They didn’t believe that Mo Qianqian, this soft pushover, could achieve anything on her first trip outside the Safe Zone during a hunt.

Mo Qianqian, however, had no interest in even acknowledging these people. Her eyes remained calm and resolute as she looked at Ji Yunting.

She was waiting for a definitive answer from him—something that was very important to her.

Once again, Ji Yunting was momentarily stunned by the intense brightness in Mo Qianqian’s eyes.

There was no trace of timidity or cowardice, nor any shame or humiliation from the others’ mockery.

Today’s Mo Qianqian was truly different.

After a brief moment of surprise, Ji Yunting subtly shifted his gaze away. This was probably just another new tactic Mo Qianqian had come up with to get his attention.

She had done things like this plenty of times before.

“Fine. Whatever you obtain on your own, you can keep it. It won’t be included in the team’s distribution.”

Having achieved her goal, a faint smile curled at the corner of Mo Qianqian’s lips.

With this definitive statement, whether it was the Spirit Spring Space she would obtain or anything else, neither Sun Mingxue nor Ji Yunting would have any valid reason to take it from her hands.

The off-road vehicle gradually began to jolt and bump.

Occasional idle chatter could be heard inside the vehicle.

No one paid any attention to Mo Qianqian.

Mo Qianqian, however, was content with the peace and quiet. She adjusted the crossbow bolts strapped to her back, placed the Hand Crossbow within easy reach, and then turned to gaze out the window.

Outside the window, the gray sky met the dull yellow earth, and the air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and countless other indescribable scents.

It mirrored her current state of mind—devoid of hope, yet struggling to find a glimmer of light.

Inside the off-road vehicle, Ji Yunting was also filled with an inexplicable sense of restlessness.

Before today, Mo Qianqian hadn’t stirred any emotional ripples in him for a long time.

But today…

About an hour later, the swaying off-road vehicle finally came to a stop.

Ahead lay the Urban Ruins—desolate and bleak, with collapsed or crumbling buildings everywhere and massive chunks of concrete scattered across the roads.

The vehicle could go no further.

The group filed out of the car one by one.

Ji Yunting’s gaze swept over Mo Qianqian before settling on the Wooden Hand Crossbow at her side.

“Are you planning to use that Wooden Hand Crossbow as your weapon for this trip?” Ji Yunting asked in a low voice.

Mo Qianqian looked up, her expression indifferent, and replied, “Yes.”

“The Urban Ruins are dangerous. Both mutant beasts and zombies have high defense. That wooden toy of yours might not even break through the defense of the lowest-level zombie,” Ji Yunting said.

“Oh, thanks for the reminder.”

The girl’s cold tone made Ji Yunting instinctively frown.

But he quickly suppressed the displeasure in his heart. After all, he was the one who had brought her out.

Moreover, his goal had never been to see Mo Qianqian die.

He wanted her to live—to live in the mud, humbled and trampled into the dust.”There are several spare weapons in the car. You can choose one for yourself when we get out.”

“Thank you, but that won’t be necessary. This hand crossbow works just fine.”

Ji Yunting watched Mo Qianqian in silence, his gaze subtly sharpening.

Among his limited impressions of her, Mo Qianqian had always been obedient—whatever he said, she would agree to.

This seemed to be the first time she hadn’t listened to him.

Playing hard to get, perhaps.

Today, she had been using quite a few tricks to catch his attention.

“Suit yourself,” Ji Yunting’s voice turned cold.

He had warned her. If she didn’t listen, she couldn’t blame him for regretting it once they entered the urban ruins.
