A massive ball of fire rose from the ground.

The entire residential community was jolted awake.

These weren't regular army, but a group of armed Bakatan thugs. Riding a combat vehicle with a distinctly cyberpunk style, they launched a rocket launcher round that directly detonated Jiang Bin and the others' military vehicle.

The firelight and explosion had come from that.

Jiang Bin and the others rapidly entered a combat state, relying on the simple fortifications they'd already roughly set up on the ground, exchanging fierce fire with this group of Bakatan people.

And outside the residential community, dense gunshots could likewise be heard.

The entire residential community seemed bathed in battle fire.

At this moment, the number of Bakatan people alone that had appeared in Lin Qun's field of view already exceeded the total he'd seen before!

Panic gripped the residential community, but Lin Qun threw on his clothes and headed downstairs.

Naturally, he was going down to hunt Bakatan people.

With the military holding the front line now, this was his best chance to strike from the shadows.

While heading downstairs, Lin Qun learned that this exchange of fire wasn't a coincidence — it was another squad Jiang Bin had mentioned, arriving with a large number of survivors, who'd also been bitten to death by a group of Bakatan people, with both sides now fiercely exchanging fire inside and outside the residential community.

However, once downstairs, Lin Qun discovered that Jiang Bin still hadn't activated the newly-formed Survivor Self-Defense Force led by Li Xinghe and the others.

Jiang Bin had only had them hold the residential community's entrance, while he himself led his warriors rapidly forward, exchanging fire with the Bakatan people as far as possible from the areas where survivors were.

When Lin Qun came down, gunfire was already thundering outside. A tall survivor guarding the community entrance, also a member of the self-defense force, was greatly surprised to see Lin Qun heading out: "Are you insane? It's a warzone out there, going out is seeking death."

Lin Qun didn't answer, walking straight outside.

That tall survivor was actually conscientious and tried to stop him, but his companion held him back, saying in front of Lin Qun: "He probably thinks he's got some ability and fancies himself the protagonist. Don't bother with him, he's seeking death, just let him go. Bro, don't blame us for not warning you, hope you make it back alive!"

That last line carried quite a sarcastic edge.

Clearly, everyone thought Lin Qun running out now was a fool seeking death.

Lin Qun didn't bother saying another word, hurrying out the door: what a joke, if he arrived too late and there was nothing left to kill, that would be a real disaster!

He'd already planned his forward route.

Using the flower beds to conceal his figure, he was rapidly cutting into the chaotic battlefield!

By now, that arrogant Bakatan combat vehicle from before had already been blown apart, turning into a great blazing fireworks display roaring at the community entrance.

Centered around it, Jiang Bin and the others were exchanging fire with the Bakatan people.

Both sides had casualties. The Bakatan people had no shortage of Contribution Points, and their firepower was fierce, nearly pinning Jiang Bin's side down entirely.

Outside, dense gunshots and shouting could likewise be heard, clearly another squad of warriors engaging the Bakatan people out there.

They seemed to have brought quite a few survivors, and the commotion they were causing was even bigger than inside the community!

Lin Qun quietly observed from a relatively safe position in the back.

The Bakatan people's firepower was too fierce, and with both sides exchanging fire, crossing the ground this way — no matter how stealthy, even crawling — would be seeking death. But Lin Qun had no intention of giving up.

These seemingly ferocious Bakatan people before him were, in his eyes, nothing but walking Contribution Points!

At this moment, the number of Bakatan people inside and outside the community might even exceed thirty. As long as he could hunt down ten, that would earn him a Lottery chance.

Lin Qun was thinking rapidly...

He needed to find a good position to hide and hunt from.

Both sides were exchanging fire right at the community's main entrance, but on either side stood residential towers.

Wang Desheng had even brought a young warrior along, and they were fighting to secure the high ground atop Building One on one side!

Lin Qun's gaze flickered, turning toward Building Two, across from Building One.

If he could jump straight to that spot... perhaps he could close the distance to within ten meters!

No sooner thought than done — Lin Qun circled to the back of Building Two, leapt up on the spot, and shot straight up the building. Coming around from the back of Building Two, through the stairwell window in the corridor, he could see straight down below!

Below, the Bakatan people held the advantage.

A tall Bakatan person had a quad-barreled rocket launcher slung over his shoulder, firing wildly, blasting Jiang Bin's side into disarray.

Two warriors failed to evade in time and were blown to pieces almost instantly!

"Retreat! Retreat! Take it down! Take it down!"

No sooner had Jiang Bin's voice rung out than he too took a rocket hit — had he not evaded fast enough, he would likely have followed those two young warriors to their fate.

His expression changed in an instant.

These Bakatan people's firepower was too fierce. They'd slaughtered massive numbers of Humans, and each one carried a huge stockpile of Contribution Points, freely exchanging them at the Contribution Point Mall for weapons, turning around to massacre Humans in return!

But right at that moment, right before Jiang Bin's blood-red gaze, the head of that unstoppable rocket-launcher-wielding Bakatan person charging at the very front abruptly burst open.

Blood splattered, and he collapsed with a thud!

Jiang Bin was so excited he nearly jumped: "Who was that? I'll see he gets credit for this! Quick, follow up, push back, counter-suppress!"

This strike had, of course, come from Lin Qun. He'd already found an excellent sniping position in Building Two, locking onto the head for an instant kill!

What delighted him was that the Bakatan person he'd just headshotted was worth a full hundred points of experience!

One worth two!

That Bakatan person had actually been an "elite mob."

No wonder it could charge while shouldering a quad-barreled rocket launcher — the recoil alone would be more than an ordinary Bakatan person could handle.

But no matter how skilled you were, if your Physique was below 22 points, you'd still end up instantly killed all the same.

And this was only the beginning.

On the ground, the Bakatan people and Jiang Bin's unit clashed fiercely, the Bakatan people's attention entirely fixed on the Human Warriors.

And Lin Qun's position wasn't just concealed — he sniped with his ability, utterly without a sound, leaving nothing to trace him by except the angle from which heads burst into blood spray. Finding him somewhere in the pitch-black Building Two through any other means would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

And in this kind of blood-crazed melee, who could possibly spot him?

Even Jiang Bin didn't notice at first that someone was secretly helping them.

Not until, in the midst of the killing, he was astonished to find that this group of Bakatan people — who moments ago had been evenly matched with them — had somehow lost more than half their numbers and suddenly been routed. Only then did he realize someone must be secretly striking, wildly killing Bakatan people!

Was someone like that really hiding within this residential community?

By this point, the Bakatan people on the battlefield inside the community no longer posed a threat, crushed by the counterattack.

At the same time, on the battlefield outside the community, the third squad's Military Strength had finally arrived, though belatedly, catching the Bakatan people in a Pincer Attack from both inside and out. Seeing this, the Bakatan people immediately began to retreat, rapidly disengaging from the battlefield.

With survivors scattered everywhere in the area, the Military prioritized protecting them above all else, and didn't give chase.

The three squads' Military Strength successfully regrouped outside the community.

And in the shadows of Building Two, Lin Qun was tallying up his Battle Results.

Sniping from up high, he'd killed six Bakatan people in total, earning 6 Contribution Points. His total Contribution Points now reached 7, and his Regional Ranking remained steady in third place, now seven Contribution Points ahead of fourth place.

Of course, his Energy was running low again, and Sage time had arrived.

But this time, having killed six Bakatan people, Lin Qun gained 350 points of experience.

He leveled up again, successfully raising his Personal Level to level five.

The Attributes on his Panel had risen once more!
