[System: Reconnaissance successfully used.]

Qin Zhiyu looked at the pattern revealed by the reconnaissance. The forest on the right had no monsters, while the forest on the left contained mutated Cacti. Compared to the palm-sized potted Cacti she was used to, these two-meter-tall Cacti were incredibly massive.

Behind the villa area platform, half-meter-long rats were digging burrows, with a pile of pups beneath them in the holes.Full novel: Apocalypse: I Have a Sanctuary — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Forget about the Cacti—the Mini-Boss was not only troublesome but also prickly. Qin Zhiyu decided to start with the rats first.

She walked through the forest on the right, carefully keeping an eye on the movements near the Cacti, cautiously making her way along the path until she stood on the platform.

The large-eared rats, with their keen senses, had already heard the noise and were crouching at the entrance of their burrows. Only their pitch-black eyes, gleaming with light, remained motionless as they stared at Qin Zhiyu.

The atmosphere grew tense at that moment. Qin Zhiyu knew that if she made any move, the rats would undoubtedly pounce and bite her.

Qin Zhiyu lowered her body and took two steps forward. The alert, plump rat immediately let out a “squeaking” sound, warning the intruder.

Qin Zhiyu didn’t wait any longer. She found the right angle to attack, pushed off with her feet, and charged forward swiftly. However, the rat moved quickly, not becoming clumsy despite its increased size.

The first strike missed, hitting the rat’s rear instead. The blow elicited a sharp, mournful cry from the rat, and its hefty body crashed into Qin Zhiyu’s left arm.

That’s definitely going to bruise, she thought, but her movements didn’t slow. The second strike immediately followed, landing squarely on the rat’s head, which was about the size of half an American football.

“Hit! Headshot!”

As expected, the early-stage monsters were easy to deal with. As long as one trained diligently before the apocalypse and had a certain level of strength, surviving was still relatively easy.

After Qin Zhiyu killed the rat, its pups scattered and fled in all directions.

Qin Zhiyu ignored these insignificant little rats because 33 minutes had already passed.

She chose a relatively central location on the flat ground.

[Do you wish to set up a Sanctuary here? Note: Once placed, it cannot be moved.]

[Yes]

[You have named your Sanctuary “Dawn.” The name does not conflict with any other Sanctuary. Please confirm.]

A familiar light shone, particularly dazzling in the gradually darkening night sky. Where the light faded, a hundred-square-meter Sanctuary rose from the ground.

It’s done. Qin Zhiyu looked at the completed Sanctuary with joy. The first goal of surviving the Cataclysm had been accomplished.

This was an even better geographical location than in her dream. “Dawn Shelter”—she was very satisfied!

[Cataclysm Survival Guide: One hundred million Sanctuaries have been successfully placed. New panel unlocked.]

Following the arrival of the Cataclysm System over half an hour ago, another large-scale system change occurred. At this moment, everyone was watching these panels intently.

[Chat] Panel Unlocked

The Chat Panel was divided into four main sections: National Region, Provincial Region, Municipal Region, and Friend Chat. Currently, the National Region was temporarily locked.

Many people in the municipal regions had already started posting in their respective sections. Although the Provincial Region had been unlocked, no one had spoken there yet.

To post in the Provincial Region, a Level 1 Sanctuary was required. At this point, only a very small number of people globally had quickly established their Sanctuaries. This condition made it seem not so easy to fulfill, so no one had posted there yet.

“Lirenzhishang Sanctuary: Damn it, I chose the wrong location to place my sanctuary. There are sanctuaries clustered all over here!”

“Yongzhewuwei Sanctuary: Another unlucky soul. It gives a prompt when placing the sanctuary. Who can you blame if you didn’t read it carefully?”

“Mengren Sanctuary: Hahaha, as an outdoor survival enthusiast, everything that happened today is a miracle I never even dreamed of!”

“Qimingwuneng Sanctuary: Big shot, please take me along!”

“Sanren Sanctuary: Please take me too +1!”

……

In the regional chat area, many people were still searching for their loved ones and asking about the reasons for the apocalypse.

As one of the first 100 million people to build a sanctuary, this speed wasn’t particularly fast. However, among the Novice Gift Packs of these 100 million people, even this slight lead would upgrade the quality by one tier.

In the Cataclysm Survival Guide, individuals gain no Experience Points from killing monsters, nor can they level up like in a game. Only sanctuaries can level up, and upgrading a sanctuary requires Construction Points.

If individuals want to improve their ratings, they need to be lucky enough to find Treasure Chests or have monsters drop them. The rat Qin Zhiyu killed earlier dropped a Bronze Treasure Chest.

Qin Zhiyu entered her sanctuary—a 100-square-meter open space made of wood, no different from the one in her dream.

This currently inconspicuous sanctuary would be her foundation. She would turn it into one of those fortresses within the Heavenly Disaster that everyone yearns for, capable of withstanding the calamities!

Qin Zhiyu sat on the floor of her sanctuary and carefully reviewed the Cataclysm Survival Guide.

Currently, the Cataclysm Survival Guide mainly consists of six categories: [Personal], [Sanctuary], [Chat], [Crafting], [Trading], and [Map].

Personal refers to individual attributes.

Sanctuary refers to sanctuary attributes.

Chat, Crafting, and Trading are panels that were just updated, while the Map is a basic function that came with the sanctuary when it first appeared.

Qin Zhiyu opened her sanctuary attributes.

[Level] 0

[Durability] 100/100

[Material] Wood

[Construction Points] 0/1000

Evaluation: Novice Shelter, low disaster resistance.

The sanctuary’s attribute values were the same as in her dream. She then opened the crafting panel.

The crafting panel involves the creation of some basic tools and simple food preparation. As long as you have the raw materials, you can produce the finished product by silently reciting the crafting process in your mind.

However, this only applies to simple tools in the early stages. More complex products require more intricate Blueprints and tools to unlock.

The trading panel hadn’t changed much either. Not many people were trading yet, and the items were mostly simple materials like wood and stone. Food was extremely rare, and the items set for trade varied widely, with inconsistent value ratios.

A 5% handling fee is charged on materials during trades.

“Novice Gift Pack!”

When the sanctuary was first completed, this Novice Gift Pack descended along with the newly built sanctuary.

Qin Zhiyu was excited. She wondered what new beginner items this upgraded Novice Gift Pack would give her, different from those in her dream?

[Opening successful]

[You obtained “Iron Sword”*1, Quality: Crimson Iron]

[You obtained ordinary “Stone Axe”*1]

[You obtained ordinary “Stone Shovel”*1]

[You obtained ordinary “Stone Hammer”*1]

[You obtained ordinary “Wan Chai Milk”*4]

【You obtained ordinary “Candle”*5】

“Wow! What a huge win!”

Qin Zhiyu excitedly looked at the pile of supplies on the ground. In the First Playthrough, all of his materials were wooden, not to mention he only had half the food. More importantly, there was the Iron Sword!
