Water.
Rice.
Flour.
Noodles.
Every kind of beans and grains.
Peanut oil.
Rapeseed oil.
Every variety of snacks.
Chocolate.
Candy.
Instant noodles.
Self-heating hot pots.
Everything went straight into her spatial storage.
Bowls, chopsticks, pots, pans…
She grabbed them all without hesitation.
Cooking oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and every seasoning she could find—
she took as much as possible.
She also emptied the shelves of canned fruit, canned meat, sauces, pickled vegetables, dried black fungus, dried shiitake mushrooms, and every other dried food available.
Towels.
Bath towels.
Toothbrushes.
Toothpaste.
Bedding sets.
Tissues.
Sanitary pads.
Every daily necessity disappeared into her storage.
Hot water bottles.
Heat patches.
Electric blankets.
Those went in too.
Since the power had only recently gone out—and it was already winter—the refrigerated goods hadn’t spoiled yet.
Milk.
Yogurt.
Even the ice cream hadn’t melted.
She took it all.
Potatoes.
Sweet potatoes.
Peppers.
Eggplants.
Every vegetable left over from the previous day’s inventory.
Every piece of fruit she could see.
Into the space they went.
If she left them behind, they would only end up submerged in floodwater or rotting anyway.
The only disappointment was the lack of fresh meat.
Fresh meat was delivered every morning, so the shelves were empty.
Fortunately, the seafood section still contained fish, shrimp, clams, and other seafood.
She picked up a large net and scooped everything into her spatial storage.
There was also alcohol.
She didn’t drink herself, but in the apocalypse, liquor could serve as valuable currency.
She collected every bottle.
She even swept up all the cigarettes.
Passing through the baby products section, Chu Ning hesitated briefly before emptying the shelves as well.
They hardly took up any space.
Who knew if they might prove useful someday?
After searching for a while, she finally found the supermarket warehouse.
She chopped off the lock, pushed the door open, and froze.
The warehouse was packed from floor to ceiling with supplies.
Her eyes immediately lit up.
Without the slightest bit of courtesy—
Store.
Store.
Store!
To her surprise, there was another door hidden behind the warehouse.
Curious, Chu Ning used her ability to unlock it.
After walking a short distance, she realized it led to the supermarket’s cold storage.
Opening the heavy door, she found enormous quantities of frozen meat.
Pork.
Beef.
Lamb.
Chicken.
Duck.
Fish.
Everything was there.
Overjoyed, she ignored the freezing temperature and frantically stored everything inside her spatial storage.
After thoroughly cleaning out the supermarket, Chu Ning ran back to the first floor.
Although many details from her previous life had already become blurry, it didn’t matter.
She had downloaded the mall’s floor plan days ago.
On the first floor was a store specializing in down jackets.
There were also several luxury skincare boutiques, high-end clothing brands, jewelry stores…
Especially jade and jadeite.
In her previous life, she had discovered that high-quality jade containing spiritual energy could be used to strengthen supernatural abilities.
Early-stage zombies didn’t even qualify as Rank One.
They possessed no crystal cores.
If she wanted to improve her abilities now, jade infused with spiritual energy was her only option.
The first floor became another massive free shopping spree.
Every down jacket—
men’s, women’s, children’s—
went into her spatial storage.
Anything she couldn’t wear herself could later be traded for supplies.
She emptied a famous sportswear brand.
Comfortable clothing.
Excellent athletic shoes.
Perfect.
Everything disappeared.
As for the other clothing stores, she casually collected anything that caught her eye without lingering too long.
When she came across a convenience store, she simply smashed the glass door open with her baseball bat.
Everything inside vanished into her storage.
She emptied the coffee beans from Starbucks.
Remembering that the internet would remain functional for about another month, she also stopped by an electronics store and collected several tablets and smartphones.
In the skincare section, Chu Ning swept away every luxury brand she recognized—
lotions.
Essences.
Face masks.
Everything.
Finally, she headed straight for the jewelry stores.
She ignored ordinary jewelry, taking only the jade pendants, bracelets, and jadeite pieces that seemed to resonate with her.
Unfortunately, after searching several stores, she found only a handful containing even the faintest traces of spiritual energy.
There was nothing she could do.
Checking the time, she saw it was already after six in the morning.
Looking outside the mall, she spotted several zombies wandering the streets.
Without hesitation, she sprinted upstairs.
The shopping mall had seven floors.
The second and third floors consisted mainly of clothing and shoe stores.
Everything above that housed restaurants, arcades, and entertainment venues.
At this point, the restaurants held very little inventory.
Her plan was simple.
Sweep through the second and third floors, collecting clothing, quilts, bedding sets, and other necessities.
Then head next door to the home furnishing and building materials mall.
She wanted to collect beds, sofas, and furniture to decorate the villa inside her spatial storage.
Afterward…
She would drive to the automotive district to claim the vehicle she had her eye on.
Running through the completely deserted mall, Chu Ning could enjoy her “free shopping” without restraint.
If a store interested her, she emptied it completely.
If not…
She casually grabbed whatever looked useful and moved on.
Soon she arrived at the home furnishing mall.
She headed directly for the highest-end furniture brands.
Conveniently, they were all located on the first floor, lined up next to one another.
She swept through every showroom.
The most expensive beds.
Luxury sofas.
Premium pillows.
With a single thought, all of them appeared inside the villa within her spatial storage.
She arranged them neatly throughout the rooms.
Any extras were placed into one empty room for future use.
After leaving the furniture mall, she drove to the automotive district.
Days earlier, she had already set her sights on a modified Hummer H1 parked inside one repair shop.
When she had visited before, the owner mentioned that the modifications had just been completed.
Now the apocalypse had begun.
The vehicle’s owner probably wasn’t coming back to claim it.
Soon this entire area would be submerged by floodwaters.
Better to take it first.
Inside the same shop, she discovered another fully modified off-road vehicle.
She stored that as well.
It would make an excellent everyday vehicle.
At another garage, she found a luxurious seven-seat business van.
Into her storage it went.
She also collected more than a hundred barrels of gasoline and diesel fuel.
Finally, she abandoned the van she had originally rented.
After siphoning out all its fuel, she climbed into one of her newly acquired off-road vehicles and drove toward another shopping center nearby.
Outside, rain continued pouring relentlessly.
The streets were completely deserted.
Occasionally, one or two zombies staggered into view.
Whenever her vehicle passed, they instinctively turned and gave chase.
But by then, she was already long gone.
After arriving, Chu Ning stored the vehicle back inside her spatial storage.
She headed first for the convenience store on the first floor.
This shopping center was much smaller, with only three levels.
Most of the first floor consisted of restaurants, though there was little left inside them.
There was also a trendy convenience store and a fruit shop.
The second floor housed a gym.
The third floor contained a massage parlor.
Chu Ning went straight to the convenience store.
Everything on the shelves disappeared into her storage.
Then she located the warehouse door behind the store and once again resorted to brute force.
After smashing it open and stepping inside, her eyes brightened.
No wonder this store was so popular.
The warehouse was packed with inventory.
Boxes upon boxes of instant noodles, self-heating hot pots, and luosifen were stacked neatly against the walls.
There was also bottled water, milk, cooking oil, rice, soy sauce, vinegar, tissues, sanitary pads, and countless other daily necessities.
She took everything.
Within moments, every item inside the ten-square-meter warehouse had become hers.
Highly satisfied, Chu Ning stepped back outside.
She cleared out every piece of fruit from the neighboring fruit shop before finally deciding to head home.
Free shopping was exhilarating…
But it was genuinely exhausting.
Fortunately, her awakened abilities had greatly enhanced her physical fitness.
Had this happened before she awakened her powers…
She would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.
Outside, torrential rain continued to pour.
The windshield wipers moved at maximum speed, yet visibility remained poor.
The rain was simply too heavy.
Fortunately, not a single living person remained on the roads.
Chu Ning drove at top speed toward her apartment complex.
After returning to the underground parking garage, she stored the vehicle inside her spatial storage and carefully made her way upstairs.
The moment she reached the second floor…
A familiar chewing sound suddenly echoed through the stairwell.
Chu Ning’s entire body stiffened.
At the same instant, a foul, blood-soaked gust of wind rushed toward her from the side.
Planting her feet firmly, she spun around and swung her baseball bat with all her strength.
