Chaoxun sighed in her heart.
If it weren’t to resolve her karma with the original owner, she would not have expended so much effort to resurrect Lou Lihan.
Lou Zhan and Ming Wan, meanwhile, were currently acting as though they had been injected with chicken blood.
“Xiaoxun, how large does the pool need to be dug? Would it be alright to dig it in the villa where Lihan used to live?”
Chaoxun thought for a moment.
“Before he is resurrected, he needs to be with me day and night. Let’s dig it at my residence.”
With that, she looked at Chu Chengshan.
“Grandfather, where do I live?”
Chu Chengshan and Chu Muhuan recalled her past history of pestering Lou Lihan, and for a fleeting moment, they wondered if she had said this deliberately just to spend more time with him.
But it was only for a moment.
They would always trust Xiaoxun unconditionally.
Whatever Xiaoxun said, they believed.
Not receiving a reply, Chaoxun asked again in confusion.
“Grandfather, where do I live?”
Chu Chengshan: “I will take you there. Grandfather kept a place of residence reserved for you long ago, just waiting for you to return.”
He escorted Chaoxun to Villa A1.
Using his authorization, Chu Chengshan swiped open the door of Villa A1 and then registered Chaoxun’s access permissions.
“Xiaoxun, from now on, this place is your residence.”
He would always reserve the very best for his granddaughter.
Before this, Chu Chengshan had worried about whether others would object to her living in A1 upon her return, given that she was an ordinary person without special abilities.
But now, he no longer harbored such reservations.
His granddaughter, Xiaoxun, was the sole Level 7 ability user in the base—and a triple-element user at that. Her living in Villa A1 was only natural!
Chaoxun had a large pool excavated on the second basement floor of the villa.
Meanwhile, Chu Chengshan and Lou Zhan issued a bounty, and more and more mutated beast blood was delivered to Chaoxun’s residence.
Chaoxun poured all of it into the pool and then submerged Lou Lihan’s body inside.
“The mutated beast blood is still not enough.”
Floating in the air, Lou Lihan felt deeply moved as he watched the various actions of Chaoxun and the others.
However, he was already dead.
He hoped Xiaoxun and everyone else could accept the reality of his passing and stop expending their efforts on him.
After placing Lou Lihan in the pool, Chaoxun stepped out of the villa.
Chu Muhuan accompanied her.
“Xiaoxun, where are we heading now?”
Chaoxun: “To find Wen Yue.”
The original owner’s space bracelet was still in her possession.
She had to reclaim it.
By now, the chaotic situation in the base had stabilized, and order was rapidly being restored.
As Chaoxun walked through the base, she could still hear people discussing her variant green vine.
“Have you seen Miss Chu? The veritable young mistress of our base. I heard she moved into Villa A1 the moment she returned. I really don’t know what contribution she has made to the base. Being born into a good family is simply more important than any actual strength. Look at us—we risk our lives on missions but can still barely make ends meet.”
Someone nearby immediately refuted:
“What do you know? When those invaders were wreaking havoc, the only Level 6 powerhouses in our base were Colonel Chu and a traitor. In the end, wasn’t it Miss Chu who rushed back in time to turn the tide, stabilizing the situation entirely on her own? You just didn’t see how magnificent her mutated beast Qilin and the variant green vine were!”
“Don’t you know yet? Miss Chu is the only Level 7 powerhouse in our base. What’s wrong with her living in Villa A1? With her around, I feel much more at ease. It gives such a sense of security.”
Chaoxun paid no heed to these words and simply walked past. From a distance, she could still hear someone say:
“But I heard before that Miss Chu was just a pretty face with no substance. How did she suddenly awaken her special abilities?”
Chaoxun curled her lips into a smile.
Awakened special abilities? She had never possessed any special abilities.
She was a cultivator.
What did special abilities amount to in front of her spiritual energy?
Chu Muhuan, however, frowned with great displeasure. The person who had just spoken ill of Chaoxun suddenly clutched their head, feeling an intense migraine, unable to utter another word.
His sister was smart and lovely. Even though she was indeed exceptionally beautiful, how could they call her a useless pretty face?
Chu Muhuan led Chaoxun to the villa where Wen Yue was staying.
“Xiaoxun, Wen Yue is inside.”
Chaoxun nodded.
“Older Brother, let’s go in.”
Inside the villa, Wen Yue was currently in a state of utter panic.
She didn’t know what was happening.
Why had her freedom suddenly been restricted, forbidding her from entering or leaving?
Wen Yue wanted to seek information from others, but there was no one around.
Strange. According to her memories, Yu Tao’s ability should have been sealed by Chu Chengshan by now. Chu Chengshan should be heavily injured, the base plunged into complete chaos, and Lou Zhan should have taken command of the base.
Why had none of this occurred?
Could some unforeseen change have happened?
Frowning, Wen Yue looked at her bracelet, and her heart settled once more.
As long as the bracelet was still here, and with so many supplies inside, there was nothing to fear.
Just as Wen Yue was thinking this, the door to her villa was kicked open.
She looked over displeasedly, only to widen her eyes in shock.
“Chu Chaoxun?!”
It was actually Chu Chaoxun!
She wasn’t dead?!
How could she possibly not be dead and even return alive?
Chaoxun stood before her, the corners of her lips curling upward.
“Wen Yue, are you surprised to see me?”
A smile quickly formed on Wen Yue’s face.
“Xiaoxun, you’re back! That is truly wonderful!”
Chaoxun: “You don’t need to be so hypocritical. Back then, wasn’t it you who snatched my space bracelet and then pushed me into the zombie horde?”
At this moment, the shock in Wen Yue’s heart was beyond words.
She had never imagined that Chu Chaoxun could possibly have survived.
Chaoxun’s gaze fell upon her wrist.
“It is time to return my bracelet.”
Wen Yue instinctively yanked her hand back.
Chu Muhuan grabbed Wen Yue’s hand and slipped the bracelet off.
“Xiaoxun, I got it back.”
Chaoxun looked at it with a trace of disgust.
“Older Brother, wipe it for me.”
Chu Muhuan let out a doting smile.
“Alright.”
He wiped it clean thoroughly before handing it back to Chaoxun.
Anxious, Wen Yue hastily stepped forward to snatch it back.
The contents of that bracelet were her very life!
All her supplies were stored inside!
Chu Muhuan kicked her aside with a swift strike.
Wen Yue: “The bracelet is mine! You won’t be able to open it!”
Chaoxun raised her eyebrows.
“Is that so?”
With that, her divine soul swept into the space of the bracelet, effortlessly erasing the imprint Wen Yue had left behind.
Looking at the space bracelet overflowing with supplies, Chaoxun was reasonably satisfied.
“You’ve prepared quite a lot of things. It’s all mine now.”
Gritting her teeth, Wen Yue quickly assessed the current situation.
“Xiaoxun, since you’ve taken the bracelet back, let’s write off what happened before, alright?”
Chaoxun shook her head.
“Of course not.”
As she spoke, she flicked her finger. Wen Yue’s expression suddenly turned vacant, and a thin red line appeared across her neck.
Blood sprayed outward.
Wen Yue collapsed, her breath completely gone.
Chaoxun withdrew her gaze.
The original owner’s grudge had now been avenged.
Chu Muhuan: “Xiaoxun, you should have let me do it. There was no need to dirty your hands.”
Chaoxun shook her head with a smile.
