"Brother Liu, why don't we go and join him?"
Several people by the window saw Lin Qi kill another zombie and couldn't help but feel envious. In the Apocalypse, having a teammate with such powerful strength would at least provide a great guarantee for their safety.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed? When we were ostracizing him before, you were the loudest one. Besides, Shang Dong seems to be a relative of yours; he turned into a zombie, and it might have been this kid who did it!"
Liu Bo was the security guard from before. After Director Wang died, he had a change of heart. The people who followed him in his escape now looked to him as their leader. Although there were no supplies at the moment, the feeling of being supported by everyone had already made him somewhat intoxicated.
If they were to join Lin Qi now, even if the other party didn't hold a grudge, who would be in charge then?
"That's the ninth one!"
Lin Qi had already fought his way to the street corner. Several rotting zombies lay on the ground behind him. Now, relying on a few cars as cover, he could easily kill the zombies after luring them over by taking advantage of the terrain.
Moreover, taking advantage of the gaps between killing zombies, Lin Qi had also moved all the supplies from the back door of the hotel into the residential courtyard.
"Just one more kill, and the advancement condition will be half complete!"
This combat skill was the most suitable for killing zombies, and its attack range was long enough. If it were advanced, it would greatly increase Lin Qi's strength.
After checking the sturdiness of the spear once more, Lin Qi locked his gaze onto a zombie in the distance.
"Huh? That looks familiar!"
When the zombie got closer, he saw clearly that it was actually Director Wang, who had been bitten to death yesterday.
Director Wang's clothes were torn into strips, and his body was covered in numerous bite marks. One of his legs had been torn down to the bone, and there was even a large hole in his stomach. As he moved slowly, a fat intestine dragged along the ground like a rope.
His movement speed was faster than an average zombie, but before he had taken many steps, his intestine caught on an obstacle, causing him to stumble and nearly fall to the ground.
Taking advantage of Director Wang's restricted movement, Lin Qi stepped forward quickly, using the momentum of his jog to thrust the spear in his hand forward violently!
"Snap!"
With a crisp sound, a section at the top of the spear actually snapped off directly, and the steel bar head just happened to get stuck in the zombie's mouth, with only the sharp tip poking in!
This attack made the zombie completely irritable. Unlike the previous virus-body zombies, the infected zombie still had active muscles, and under the control of the virus, it could unleash two to three times the strength of an ordinary person!
The Director Wang zombie swung a palm over, striking the umbrella shaft, which immediately made Lin Qi feel his hands tremble, causing his wrists to ache and nearly making him lose his grip on the spear.
"Such great strength!"
Lin Qi subconsciously retreated several steps, waiting until he was behind a car, preparing to use the car as an obstacle.
The spear had lost its sharp point, and the damage it could inflict on the zombie was minimal. If he didn't think of a way, he feared he would have to change his plan if he wanted to complete the final goal.
With the steel bar head stuck in his throat, Director Wang's roars were exceptionally hoarse, and streams of red mucus even flowed out along it.
But the desire for fresh flesh made the virus in his mind completely frantic. Under the influence of the virus, his body trembled violently, erupting with all his strength.
The intestine tangled on the ground was torn apart, and he dragged his crippled leg, limping toward Lin Qi.
Even so, Director Wang's speed was much faster than an average zombie.
If the virus-body zombies were the slow-moving type from The Walking Dead, this infected zombie belonged to the zombies from Resident Evil, even possessing the ability to run when attacking.
It could not be ruled out that there would be a possibility of evolution in the future!
Lin Qi circled the car twice, trying to attack a few times with the broken-tipped spear, but even hitting the zombie on the head didn't cause much of a hindrance to his movements.
This kind of zombie was still fierce even with broken hands and feet, unless the control center in its head was destroyed.
Lin Qi braced himself on the umbrella shaft and jumped directly onto the roof of the car. After the chase, he discovered that although the zombie's movement speed was faster, its physical agility was very poor, and it couldn't climb or jump at all.
Director Wang, who was close at hand, kept slapping the car with both hands, leaving bloody handprints on the smooth body of the car.
His fingernails had actually grown sharp in just one day, leaving scratch marks on the car's paint.
At close range, the zombie looked up and glared at Lin Qi, opening its mouth just right to reveal that half of the steel bar head.
"Good opportunity!"
Lin Qi gripped the umbrella shaft, thrust it accurately into the half of the steel bar head, and then pushed it inward violently.
"Squish!"
With a downward force, the steel bar head was pushed out by the umbrella shaft, popped out from the back of the zombie's head, and fell to the ground with a clatter!
The zombie's struggling movements slowly stopped, and it collapsed limply onto the car before sliding to the ground.
The fat body trembled a few times, then remained motionless.
Lin Qi only felt his hands aching; killing this infected zombie was even more tiring than killing the nine virus-body zombies before.
Fortunately, the count of ten was now complete. Once he returned and advanced his Basic Spear Technique, it would be much easier if he encountered the same kind of zombie again.
He jumped off the car, found a broken plastic bag to wrap the steel bar head in, and ran quickly toward his residence.
The sky was already approaching dusk, but this sense of contrast in the silence did not make the sunset scene feel relaxing; instead, it felt even more urgent.
Arriving at the Iron Gate, Lin Qi quickly took out a wire to open the door lock, and only after entering the residential courtyard did he completely relax.
The intense psychological contrast made his heart beat violently, and his forehead was covered in sweat before he knew it.
Sitting under a few ornamental trees in the courtyard, Lin Qi rested for a long time before calming the excitement in his heart.
The ornamental trees in the garden grew very densely, and the emerald green branches and leaves were full of sharp thorns, with red fruits like lychees, though they were much smaller.
"A Hackberry tree?"
Lin Qi suddenly remembered that he had picked this kind of fruit to soak in wine before, and the fruit tasted quite good.
So he reached out and picked two, blew the dust off them, and stuffed them directly into his mouth.
Having not eaten fresh fruit for many days, these wild fruits were just right for replenishing some nutrients.
Moreover, the Hackberry tree had more than just that use; this type of wood was an excellent material for making bows and arrows in ancient times.
If it were in the past, he would never have paid such attention, but now that he had a cheat that allowed him to gain skills by using tools, if he had a handy bow and arrow, he wouldn't even need to get close when facing zombies in the future.
Shooting an arrow from a distance, with the power of a bow and arrow, he could easily pierce a zombie's skull.
Although the main trunk of this Hackberry tree was a bit curved, it was long enough and just the thickness of an arm. With such a diameter, as long as he processed it a little, he could make a wooden bow that would be enough to use for a period of time.
Picking a handful of fruit and putting them into his pocket, Lin Qi stood up and walked toward the second floor.
In fact, when he returned to the small courtyard, Zhao Tuantuan, who was by the window on the second floor, had already noticed him. When Lin Qi's footsteps approached, she opened the door and came out to greet him.
