On the streets outside the window, humans with abnormal movements had already begun to appear.

Their steps were stiff, their eyes empty, and they pounced on anyone they saw.

No, they could no longer be called human.Full novel: Apocalypse Side Character: Her Devoted Bodyguard Turns Out to Be the Zombie Emperor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A woman wearing a tiny camisole tackled a passing man to the ground, her teeth sinking deeply into his forearm as blood splattered everywhere.

The zombie virus was slowly spreading.

Wen Chu stood by the window and took one look outside, silently calculating the situation.

It was the middle of the night, and many of those who had been infected were still sleeping at home, so there were not yet many zombies wandering the streets.

But what about after dawn?

She pushed the thought aside. There was no time to worry about that now.

Her most urgent task was to collect supplies.

There was an imported snack shop beside Box Niu. She controlled a ribbon and sent it inside.

Collect!

A milk tea shop, a dessert shop, a coffee shop, a sushi restaurant, a snack shop, a beauty products store, and many others.

Collect, collect, collect!

“Come here, my little darlings. Hurry into Mommy’s space.”

“Mommy will not play favorites. Every one of my precious supplies is Mommy’s favorite.”

“Kyah hah hah…”

Wen Chu let out the classic laugh of a great villain, which sounded especially eerie in the darkness.

She found a loose fitting casual outfit and changed out of the tight skirt that was almost exposing her backside.

She also changed her rhinestone high heels for a pair of flat sneakers.

After clearing out the basement level, she went up to the first floor.

Two zombie security guards came straight toward her.

One had an eyeball dangling outside its eye socket. It swayed back and forth with every step, looking as if it might fall out at any moment.

The other one was even more terrifying.

Something had torn a huge hole in its abdomen, leaving its insides completely empty. Every step it took was accompanied by the sound of bones scraping against each other.

Wen Chu had not been mentally prepared for this at all, and her stomach churned violently.

She forced down her nausea and moved her thoughts.

The metal trash can beside her suddenly flew into the air and smashed violently into the two zombies.

Once, twice, three times…

Fortunately, this was still the very beginning of the apocalypse, so these were ordinary zombies.

They moved slowly and had zero intelligence. After being struck by the trash can more than ten times, they finally stopped moving completely.

Wen Chu did not bother digging out their crystal cores.

There was nothing inside the brains of ordinary zombies except disgusting brain matter.

She continued deeper into the shopping mall.

The first floor was filled with all kinds of digital products. She first took several iPads, then crouched in a corner and frantically downloaded information.

Maps of the entire country, study materials, survival guides, medical emergency manuals, television dramas, novels, and anything else she could download.

She downloaded as much as possible.

Because of the magnetic field, the internet connection was unstable and kept cutting in and out.

While thousands of downloads were running at the same time, she began collecting supplies.

Home textiles, clothing, shoes, watches, she collected everything with such enthusiasm that she completely lost track of time.

Especially when she stood in the middle of the shopping mall and controlled dozens of ribbons at once, sending countless invisible hands toward the various stores, the feeling was simply incredible.

The ribbons flashed through the dim shopping mall. Wherever they went, the shelves were instantly emptied.

She could not help thinking that if this were turned into a short drama or adapted into an animated comic, would this scene not be unbelievably awesome once it aired?

This was exactly the kind of satisfying apocalypse story she loved!

Then came the second floor, third floor, and fourth floor.

She swept through the mall floor by floor like a swarm of locusts, leaving nothing behind.

Before she knew it, she realized that she had already reached the peak of level one.

She only needed one opportunity to break through to level two.

After finishing the restaurant area on the fifth floor, the phone in her bag suddenly vibrated.

Wen Chu took it out and saw a WeChat message from Song Shiyu.

【Wen Chu, come to the private room.】

She glanced at the time.

Six in the morning.

Song Shiyu had suddenly asked her to come over. It was probably because the male and female leads had finished making love and discovered that both of them had awakened supernatural abilities.

Wen Chu quickly replied.

I will wash up and come over immediately.

A minute later, Song Shiyu replied again.

Stay in your room. I will come and get you. Things are not safe now.

Wen Chu frowned.

He was coming to get her?

Would that not expose the fact that she was not in her room at all?

She immediately replied.

No need. I have already left my room and will be there soon.

After sending the message, she immediately ran upstairs.

After reaching the peak of level one, her physical condition had improved considerably.

Combined with several gulps of Spirit Spring Water, she reached the entrance of the private room in almost two minutes.

She took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

The moment she entered, she saw the male lead, Song Xingci.

Yesterday, he had not been wearing any clothes, and the lighting had been too dim to see him clearly.

Today, she could finally see him properly.

He really did have the standard appearance of a male lead, with the face of a powerful and domineering CEO.

He was one hundred eighty five centimeters tall with a lean, muscular build.

You could tell at a glance that he was very capable.

He really was capable. Judging from what had happened yesterday, it seemed as though he had nearly broken through the heavens.

At this moment, he was looking completely satisfied as he held the female lead, Shen Chuman, in his arms and carefully fed her water. His gaze was so gentle that it seemed capable of melting anyone’s heart.

Shen Chuman had the appearance of a kind and delicate woman.

Yet at this moment, her face was flushed with an alluring color. Her cheeks were bright red, her lips swollen, and it was obvious that she had been thoroughly cherished.

Hearing the door open, Song Xingci raised his head.

His gaze landed on Wen Chu, and his expression suddenly darkened.

Before Wen Chu could react, her cousin Song Shiyu had already strode over and stood in front of her.

Immediately afterward, Fan Jingshen and He Beichuan also stepped forward from either side. The three men stood like a wall, protecting her behind them.

Song Shiyu spoke first, with obvious displeasure in his voice.

“What are you staring at Wen Chu like that for? You are frightening her.”

He Beichuan gave a cold laugh and spoke sarcastically.

“Even if you slept with some strange woman and are no longer clean, why do you have to show it off everywhere?”

Song Xingci’s expression became even uglier.

He gritted his teeth and spoke one word at a time.

“Just keep protecting her. Do you know that she actually drugged me yesterday?”

“If I had not been drugged, why would I have lost control and taken Chuman right there in the lounge of the club?”

The air suddenly became silent.

Fan Jingshen, who had remained quiet until now, finally spoke. His voice was calm and unhurried, yet every word struck directly at the heart.

“I have serious doubts about your self control.”

The meaning was obvious. Even if Wen Chu had drugged him, if his self control had been strong enough, he could still have resisted.

Song Xingci closed his eyes tightly, his chest rising and falling violently.

There was no way he could explain himself to these childhood friends.

Ever since they were young, they had all doted on Wen Chu and protected her, treating her like their own younger sister and cherishing her in the palms of their hands.

If it were not for that, how could Wen Chu have had the courage to drug him?

He opened his eyes, only to meet Wen Chu’s gaze.

The culprit was glaring at him with an expression of complete defiance.

There was not the slightest trace of guilt in those beautiful eyes. Instead, they seemed to be challenging him by saying, “What are you going to do about it?”

Song Xingci took a deep breath and decided to put the matter aside for the moment.

“Let us talk about the important matter first.”

He helped Shen Chuman stand up, and his tone regained some calmness.

“I awakened a lightning ability.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he raised his hand toward a potted green plant in the room and released a lightning bolt.

A dazzling flash of blue and white electricity exploded through the air. The plant was struck until it was blackened and smoking, while its leaves fell all over the floor.

Everyone inhaled sharply at the same time.

They had only ever seen something like this in novels. None of them had expected supernatural abilities to actually exist in reality.

Song Xingci proudly introduced Shen Chuman beside him.

“Chuman is my girlfriend from now on. I will take responsibility for her. She also awakened an ability. Hers is a spatial ability.”

Shen Chuman bent slightly and gently touched several bottles of expensive liquor on the tea table with her pale fingers.

The next moment, the bottles disappeared into thin air.

Everyone’s eyes widened.

Song Shiyu stood frozen for several seconds before finally finding his voice.

“I am a doctor and a firm believer in materialism…”

He muttered to himself as his entire understanding of the world collapsed at a visible speed.

“What exactly is going on?”

Even He Beichuan, whose tongue was usually sharp, began to question himself.

“Could staying up all night playing cards have given me hallucinations?”

Fan Jingshen said nothing.

He walked over to the window and pulled open the heavy curtains.

The sky was already completely bright. Sunlight poured into the room, yet it carried not the slightest trace of warmth.

The streets below were in complete chaos.

Burning cars, shattered glass, dark red bloodstains, and those swaying figures wandering aimlessly in every direction.

One zombie was crouched on the ground, burying its head in something as it devoured it.

It raised its head, dark red flesh and blood hanging from the corner of its mouth. Half of its face had already rotted away, revealing a section of pale white gums and teeth.

Fan Jingshen turned around and looked at everyone in the room. His voice was deep and steady, as though he were simply stating a fact that had already happened.

“I am afraid…”

“The apocalypse has arrived.”
