“Ahhh—don’t come any closer—!”

Su Ruanruan suddenly shot up from her bed, gasping for breath.

A thin layer of sweat covered her forehead, and she instinctively touched her neck.Full novel: Apocalypse Starts: I Lie Back and Win with 100 Billion Worth of Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Weren’t she just torn apart by more than a dozen mutated monkeys?

How could she…

What came into view first was a bright floor-to-ceiling window with plain-colored curtains.

Even more precious was the sunlight streaming in from outside.

Warm yet bright, carrying a sense of hope that seemed to pierce through all darkness.

How long had it been since she last saw the sun? She couldn’t remember…

Her mind was still a mess, unable to process anything else.

Almost instinctively, she climbed out of bed barefoot, not even bothering with slippers, and rushed to the window.

She pulled the curtains open and let the morning sunlight pour over her body.

Outside the building was a bustling residential garden, lush with greenery and full of life.

Young mothers were pushing strollers, and elderly men were gathered playing chess.

Everything was peaceful and harmonious, filled with the feeling of a stable and prosperous world.

This… wasn’t the apocalypse?

This was clearly the home she had lived in for over twenty years.

Something flashed through her mind, and she suddenly rushed to the desk.

She stared at the calendar.

Date: October 15, 2020.

She had been reborn? Back to one week before the apocalypse?

Suddenly, she looked at the small mirror on the desk.

The girl inside looked youthful and tender.

Cute and soft, like a college student who hadn’t yet left the ivory tower.

Her face was full of collagen, and her eyes were clear and pure.

Nothing like someone who had struggled through four brutal years of the apocalypse.

Thinking of this, memories of the end times flooded her mind uncontrollably.

A week later, on the 21st, the world would lose electricity and water, the blackout spreading globally for unknown reasons.

Following that would be extreme heat, continuously rising temperatures.

After twenty days of heat, on November 11, 2020, the world would undergo a global mutation of animals and plants.

She would never forget that day.

She personally witnessed a three-meter-tall stray dog eating a human right in front of her.

Ordinary plants and animals turned monstrous—intelligent, enormous, and carnivorous.

She eventually joined a base with the masses, only to die in the fourth year of the apocalypse—at the hands of her best friend.

Su Ruanruan had just graduated from university and lived alone in a high-end top-floor apartment.

Her parents had passed away early, leaving her a massive inheritance—more money than she could ever spend in a lifetime.

In her previous life, the apocalypse came without warning, and money turned into useless paper.

Now that heaven had given her a second chance, she would cherish it!

After water and electricity were cut off, water would become the top priority.

People would fight desperately just for a sip, and there would even be cases of people selling daughters for water.

Su Ruanruan took out a notebook and pen from the desk.

Based on her four years of experience in the apocalypse, she quickly wrote down a supply list.

Water, food, daily necessities, weapons, medicine…

The list was endless, but she only had one week.

Without delay, she grabbed her phone and a mask, ready to go out.

Just as she reached the door, she paused and looked back.

The apartment was a large four-bedroom, one-living-room unit with a kitchen and bathroom.

Spacious—but empty when she lived alone.

She was determined to fill it completely with supplies.

But even this wasn’t enough. If only she had a space ability like others…

The next second, she felt something heavy above her head.

When she looked up, she faintly saw a vast, boundaryless void-like space.

That simple?

Su Ruanruan took a bottle of cold drink from the fridge.

In her mind, she silently said: “Space.”

As expected, the drink disappeared.

Looking up again, she saw the bottle standing quietly in a corner of that empty space.

She was overjoyed.

In her previous life, spatial ability users were extremely rare and highly sought after by major bases.

Now, she had only one goal for this week: fill the space as much as possible!

She sat in the elevator, watching the numbers change as her thoughts drifted.

There was a large rooftop above—she would install five massive water storage tanks.

A high-capacity generator as well.

Windows, walls, and doors all needed reinforcement.

Money was no issue—she would completely transform this place.

And most importantly, air conditioning and cooling systems.

The rising heat wave was only the beginning.

Many people wouldn’t survive it…

She went down to the underground parking lot, drove her small car, and headed straight to the city’s largest wholesale market.

This place had everything, and prices were low—buying in bulk wouldn’t raise suspicion.

The market was divided into cooked food, frozen goods, fruits and vegetables, seasonings, and seafood.

Everything clearly categorized.

Su Ruanruan planned to take a bit of everything.

After all—she had more money than she could spend.

She went first to the frozen goods section.

Both sides were lined with shops selling frozen products—chicken wings, drumsticks, hotpot meatballs, and more.

She entered the first shop, barely glancing around, and waved her hand boldly.

“Boss, how much stock do you have? I’ll take it all.”

The boss, who had been lounging and playing on his phone, immediately put it down.

At first, he was about to curse—

but then he saw a young, delicate-looking girl standing in front of him.

He swallowed his words.

“Get lost, get lost. Don’t mess up my business!”

Su Ruanruan looked around.

Besides her and the boss, there was no one else.

What business?

She stared at him silently.

The boss coughed awkwardly.

“It’s just… this damn weather. It’s already October and still this hot.”

“Who can survive this? Anyway, little girl, just say what you want, don’t pretend to be rich.”

He turned the fan to maximum and fanned himself dramatically.

Su Ruanruan frowned.

It really was hot.

By the time she walked here, she was already sweating.

The temperature on her phone showed nearly 40°C.

No time to waste.

She spoke quickly, each word clear.

“Boss, I want everything. Calculate the total and I’ll pay in one go.”

The boss looked her up and down in disbelief.

“You want everything? I’ve got a lot—including warehouse stock. That’s at least over a hundred thousand.”

He had never seen anyone buy out an entire shop like this.

Su Ruanruan didn’t bother arguing.

She stepped forward directly.

Her expression turned slightly fierce, and the boss instinctively stood up.

“Hey, what are you doing—”
