If anyone saw her situation, they’d probably go mad with jealousy.

She couldn’t help but think—what was she doing at this exact time in her previous life?

The sudden power and water outage had caught everyone off guard.Full novel: Apocalypse Starts: I Lie Back and Win with 100 Billion Worth of Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She had never been the type to stockpile supplies at home, so she had nothing.

Like everyone else in the community, she went out at night to rush to supermarkets and grab supplies.

But back then, she was weak and helpless—she couldn’t compete with others.

After finally managing to grab two bottles of mineral water, she was robbed right at her doorstep…

Thinking of this, Su Ruanruan looked up at her space again, not blinking.

She was afraid that the moment she closed her eyes, everything inside would disappear.

She couldn’t calm down enough to watch a movie.

Her mind was filled with thoughts of the apocalypse.

For the first time since her rebirth, she opened the community group chat.

It was full of complaints:

【It’s so hot! When will the power come back?】

【Does anyone have mineral water? I’ve run out! Willing to pay!】

【Anyone have water? My kid won’t stop crying—I’ll pay 100 yuan for one bottle!】

【What kind of crappy community is this? Still no power!】

No one responded to those asking to buy water.

People who could afford to live here weren’t short on money.

But now—they lacked water, electricity, and supplies.

In a few days, large supermarkets would begin rationing.

Each person, with a valid ID, could only receive one bottle of water and one jin of rice per day.

Su Ruanruan had enough supplies.

She only wanted to protect herself, not go out under the scorching sun.

So she stayed home all day—watching variety shows and movies.

For the first time since her rebirth, she felt relaxed and carefree.

For lunch and dinner, she relied on the ready-made food stored in her space.

She also used her free time to organize her space.

Previously, everything had been thrown in hastily and was a mess.

Although she could retrieve anything with a thought—

well… she was bored anyway.

Lying on the sofa, she looked at the floating space above.

With a flick of her finger and a thought, she could rearrange everything inside—

grouping similar items together.

Soon, the space was divided into neat sections.

Much more pleasing to the eye.

In one corner stood her modified RV.

The entire exterior was covered with dense spikes, each about ten centimeters long.

There was also a faintly visible black electric grid, flickering with silver light.

She had turned it into a powerful, domineering mobile fortress.

And so, Su Ruanruan spent three days lounging at home—

sleeping when tired, eating when awake.

Meanwhile, temperatures continued rising.

By the fourth day of the apocalypse, it had reached 45°C.

Internet signals grew weaker.

Panic spread among the people.

Some even spread rumors online, fueling fear.

In the past, moderators would clean up such chaos—

but now, with global power outages, everyone was conserving energy.

Suddenly—

Footsteps in slippers echoed outside.

The doorbell rang, snapping her out of her thoughts.

She looked at the door warily and pressed the remote beside her—

activating the outer electric barrier.

Then she picked up a dagger from the table.

Its blade gleamed silver, as long as her forearm.

It was only the first day of the disaster—

and already people were resorting to robbery?

She quietly approached the door, pressing her ear against the wall.

She heard several men whispering.

Their voices sounded familiar.

“This is the place! I helped renovate it a few days ago.”

“There are five water tanks on the rooftop—and a generator! What does that mean?”

“It means she has water and electricity! Hot meals! Cold air conditioning!”

“More importantly, she lives alone—a single girl. Easy target!”

Su Ruanruan recognized them.

They were the workers who had installed her doors and windows.

They thought she was an easy target?

Big mistake.

She said nothing.

Instead, she pulled out her phone and checked the surveillance.

On the screen, several tall, muscular men stood outside.

They wore white tank tops, black shorts, and slippers.

Their faces were flushed, drenched in sweat.

She remembered—the renovation company wasn’t far from her home.

No wonder they dared to come under the blazing sun.

The men kept wiping sweat and whispering among themselves.

They had installed the electric grid, security door, and iron door themselves.

She had insisted on using the best materials.

Breaking in by force? Impossible.

But they weren’t willing to give up.

They hadn’t had a drop of water or a proper meal all day.

And just a few steps away—

there was water, electricity, air conditioning…

“Big bro, what do we do? I’m dying of thirst!”

“Yeah, we haven’t had water all day!”

“Why does that woman inside get to eat, drink, and enjoy air conditioning?!”

The man called “big bro” wiped his sweat angrily.

“That’s right! Why?!”

“We’ll stay here and wait. She has to come out eventually!”

“If she doesn’t—we’ll break the door!”

Then, unbelievably, the men each found a corner and sat down.

They even took out plastic fans, fanning themselves weakly—

but the air they stirred was hot.

Su Ruanruan rolled her eyes.

Why? Because I have money. Do you?

Even though they hadn’t made a move, she still didn’t feel safe.

If it came to a fight, she stood no chance against them.

Forget it.

Live in the moment.

She took out a deluxe bowl of luosifen from her space—medium spicy.

With fried egg, tofu sticks, sausage, and double portions of yuba.

Then she grabbed a can of cola and popped it open—

click—

She poured it into a glass.

Then added five precious ice cubes.

Ice-cold cola paired with rich, flavorful luosifen—

She took a sip of cola, then a bite of noodles.

Pure bliss.

A perfect combination.

The smell of luosifen drifted through the air.

Outside, the men sniffed.

“What’s that smell? So stinky!”

“That’s luosifen! She’s eating luosifen!”

“Smells so good… she even has electricity to cook!”

“She must have tons of supplies—selfish woman!”

But facing the electric grid, they dared not act.

They knew how powerful it was.

With no options left, they could only curse outside endlessly.
