Inside her space, just as she had seen, there was now a river.

Or rather, a small stream?

It was about a little over one meter wide and not deep—only about half a meter.Full novel: Apocalypse Stockpiling: I Just Want to Be Lazy with My Billions of Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The water was extremely clear. Under the light within the space, faint blue glimmers could be seen sparkling in the river.

It looked just like… the blue specks of light that had floated out of those two stones that upgraded her space.

Summer Sisi scooped up some water and held it in front of her eyes. It felt ice-cold in her hands, and the blue light particles inside were beautiful.

Without realizing it, she took a sip.

Sweet and refreshing—extremely delicious.

She scooped up another mouthful and drank again.

…

She didn’t even know how much she had ended up drinking. It felt like the water had some kind of magic—once you started, you couldn’t stop.

When she finally came to her senses, she realized her stomach was completely round.

Just as she was about to laugh at herself, a sudden sharp pain struck her!

It was a pain that started from her stomach and spread through her entire body.

“It’s my fault… I was too greedy!”

Summer Sisi rolled on the ground in agony. Sweat dripped down her forehead one drop at a time.

As it slid down her face, she wiped it away—

Only to find the sweat was black and foul-smelling, so disgusting she could barely look at it.

Not just her forehead—her arms, chest, and cheeks were all oozing the same black, foul sweat, making her feel sick.

The bone-piercing pain spread through her body, growing stronger and stronger, until she finally lost consciousness from the pain.

When she woke up again, she found herself lying in a small puddle of black liquid, her whole body feeling completely drained.

She raised her hand and gently wiped her body.

To her surprise, her hand was now crystal clear—fair and smooth like jade.

She looked at her reflection in the stream.

Even she couldn’t help but sigh—what a beautiful girl!

Her original looks had already been quite good, inherited from her parents’ best features.

Now her facial features hadn’t changed much, but her skin had become even fairer, and her whole temperament carried a faint, ethereal, almost immortal quality.

She looked noticeably more refined.

Looking at the stream in front of her, she knew—she had struck gold again.

Or rather, her space had leveled up again.

Although she didn’t know why the space changed like this, it was clearly a good thing.

She walked toward the source of the stream, all the way to the back of the house.

There, she saw a clear spring.

The water was crystal clear, and the blue light particles at the source were even more abundant than in the stream.

Summer Sisi quickly fetched two buckets and filled them at the spring’s source, then brought them out of the space.

Outside, Big Black was quietly lying down right in front of the spot where she had disappeared. Only when it saw her return did it stand up, as if ready to leave.

Summer Sisi rolled her eyes inwardly—clearly it was worried about her, yet still acting like it didn’t care. This Big Black really was something.

She walked over and placed the buckets beside it.

“Big Black, let’s go take a bath.”

Big Black tilted its head in confusion, then immediately jumped backward when it saw the buckets!

It actually didn’t like bathing.

But that wasn’t up to it anymore.

In preparation for the apocalypse, Summer Sisi had already bought an extra-large bath bucket for Big Black. Now it was finally useful.

She went back and forth between her space and the bathroom, bringing out more spring water and pouring it into the tub, adding hot water until the temperature felt right.

In theory, Big Black could also drink this water.

But remembering the pain she had just endured herself, she didn’t want to risk letting Big Black try it directly—better to test it through bathing first.

Big Black was extremely unwilling and was practically dragged into the bathroom.

When she finally managed to lift it into the bath, she was already drenched in sweat.

“Big Black, it’s just a bath. What are you afraid of?”

Big Black turned its head away and showed her its butt, sulking in protest.

Helpless, she took out a pet scrub towel and started scrubbing it while washing it with water.

When she touched the scars on its body, Big Black suddenly trembled all over.

It even let out soft whimpering sounds.

Previously, its wounds had already been touched by water and even by her; they had long healed and weren’t a problem anymore. But now, this water actually caused pain?

A thought flashed through Summer Sisi’s mind.

She grabbed Big Black’s head and turned it toward her seriously.

“Big Black, this water isn’t ordinary. It’s very good for your body. You need to soak completely in the tub. It might hurt a little. Can you do it?”

Big Black just stood there, quietly looking at her.

So she pressed firmly on its backside.

“Lie down. Get into the tub.”

After struggling for a moment, Big Black finally lay down into the bath under her command.

Water overflowed from the tub, soaking her clothes completely.

But she didn’t care at all.

Watching Big Black lying there with a pitiful, unhappy expression, she continued scrubbing it with a faint smile.

Its body trembled slightly—probably from the pain caused as the spring water touched its scars.

Summer Sisi gently stroked its big head, soothing it carefully. She took out the snacks she had prepared earlier and patiently calmed its emotions.

Sure enough, after eating half a bag of snacks, Big Black felt much better and its attention was completely diverted.

During that short time, Summer Sisi noticed something incredible—black fur had started growing over Big Black’s scars!

Previously, the scarred areas had no fur at all, as if the injuries had been too severe to fully recover. But now, a layer of fine, soft downy hair was slowly sprouting there.

“Big Black, Big Black, your injuries are slowly healing! You have to hang in there!”

At this point, Big Black seemed to have also adapted to the spring water. It quietly ate its snacks and was no longer resisting so much.

Summer Sisi then took out a toy ball and teased it.

After running around like this for about an hour, Big Black suddenly stopped moving.

By now, there was no trace of its scars at all. Instead, a dark, thick, foul-smelling liquid had appeared on its body—exactly the same substance she had previously expelled from her own body in the space.

Big Black stared at the water in the tub, as if deep in thought. After a moment, it lifted its head.

Although it was still the same Big Black, Summer Sisi felt that its gaze had changed.

It had become more… human-like.

As if its intelligence had increased compared to before.

Satisfied that things were about done, Summer Sisi happily lifted Big Black out of the tub.

She rinsed off the black, foul liquid from its body with clean water, then used a dryer to dry its fur.

After it was dry, she carefully examined where the scars had been—and found not a single trace left. It was completely healed, as if nothing had ever happened.
