A loud bang at the door made Yuna Bishop instantly raise her gun, almost pulling the trigger.
Thankfully, Yuna Bishop had a shred of reason left.
She knew the players outside couldn’t possibly have breached the defenses so quickly.
The players inside couldn’t have subdued the clinic staff this fast, either.
After all, if they had succeeded, the ones outside wouldn’t still be throwing burning bottles.
The newcomer was Victor Hale, the clinic’s Surgeon.
Other than Dr.
Hamilton, he was the staff member Yuna Bishop interacted with most.
At six-foot-three, the tattooed man was a giant, and he looked as ferocious as he acted.
But he treated Yuna Bishop well enough.
“Come with me!”
Victor Hale ignored the pistol in Yuna Bishop’s hand, grabbing her arm and pulling her out of the room.
The second Yuna Bishop and Noir followed Victor Hale from the room, a large stone smashed through the window, followed by a volley of burning bottles!
The glass bottles, wreathed in roaring flames, shattered on the floor, and the fire spread rapidly.
‘You have to admit, these players are vicious.’ The clinic was already desperately short on water.
Now, facing a fire, they had no way to extinguish it.
They had no choice but to abandon the territory.
Or so it seemed.
When Victor Hale led Yuna Bishop to the clinic’s basement, she knew those players were finished.
Rows of neatly arranged fire extinguishers and a glass cabinet filled with assorted weapons seemed to mock their foolishness.
Yuna Bishop had over a dozen fire extinguishers thrust into her hands, a heavy responsibility.
‘She couldn’t touch the weapons, so getting some spare fire extinguishers was pretty good too.’
Yuna Bishop was pragmatic about it.
With Noir in tow, the two of them began the diligent work of fighting the fire.
Just as she stepped out of the basement, Lynn Hale—the girl from The Aegis Organization—shoved a flare gun into Yuna Bishop’s hands.
On the clinic’s first floor, all the players who had been left inside were bound up tight.
Even their mouths were gagged.
The moment they saw Yuna Bishop, their eyes immediately begged her for help.
Yuna Bishop pretended not to see.
‘Are you kidding me?
It’s a miracle of kindness I’m not up there stabbing them a few times.’
“Yuna, I’m counting on you.”
Lynn Hale rushed off without explaining further, but her meaning was obvious: she wanted Yuna Bishop to find a chance to fire the signal flare.
‘Looks like the clinic NPCs have plenty of reinforcements,’ she thought.
‘It made sense.
A clinic that provided free medical care was probably on good terms with all the NPCs in the city.’
Other NPCs had medical supplies, but they weren’t professional Doctors, after all. Find the original chapter at g.com.
Yuna Bishop hoisted a fire extinguisher, putting out fires as she sprinted toward the roof.
‘As for the players outside,’ Yuna Bishop thought, ‘one of them must have an arsonist Talent.
How else could every burning bottle be thrown with such accuracy?’
Every one landed on either wood or cloth.
‘Truly uncanny.’
While putting out the fire, Yuna Bishop had to keep an eye out for a burning bottle flying in to land on her.
Luckily, she had Noir by her side.
At the slightest sign of danger, he would immediately tackle Yuna Bishop to the ground, dodging the attacks.
After making it all the way to the clinic’s third-floor rooftop, Yuna Bishop had Noir stay behind.
She shielded her face and fired the signal flare into the sky.
The colorful flare exploded across the sky.
Yuna Bishop hadn’t even left the rooftop when she heard the sound of vehicles.
‘Well now.’
Yuna Bishop raised an eyebrow.
‘These players are in for it now.’
“Brothers, charge!!!”
A desperate cry echoed from downstairs.
Clearly, the players at the barricade had also heard the sound of the vehicles.
Yuna Bishop carefully peeked outside.
A few idiots were actually charging forward.
There were plenty of players outside the barricade, but most of them were huddled behind it, not daring to show their faces.
Suddenly, Yuna Bishop’s gaze fell on something in the distance.
Her pupils contracted, her relaxed mood instantly vanished, and she immediately grabbed Noir and tore downstairs!
“Dr.
Hamilton, bad news!!”
“They’ve lured a High Tier Zombie over!!”
Yuna Bishop yelled as she ran.
Players weren’t scary, not when the clinic NPCs were there to act as a shield.
But if you added zombies to the mix, especially a High Tier Zombie, then things became extremely dangerous.
These players were truly toxic.
There were no High Tier Zombies anywhere near the clinic; they must have lured this one from somewhere else.
“What!”
Everyone in the clinic was stunned by Yuna Bishop’s words.
A moment later, they too sensed the aura of the High Tier Zombie.
“Evacuate immediately!”
Dr.
Hamilton gave the command decisively.
“Yes, sir!”
With the High Tier Zombie closing in, the clinic’s staff didn’t have time to take all the supplies.
“Take as much as you can carry, then save yourself.”
Victor Hale said, giving Yuna Bishop a meaningful look.
He didn’t need to tell Yuna Bishop; she and Noir were already starting to pack.
In the end, Yuna Bishop was still dragged down by the mess the players outside had caused.
She heard a series of pings as her affinity with the clinic’s NPCs plummeted.
Still, she couldn’t blame the NPCs.
There were other temporary player-workers in the clinic just like Yuna Bishop.
When caught between the players and the NPCs, these people had unhesitatingly chosen the players and were even about to help the ones outside open the doors.
As a result, they were ruthlessly suppressed by Victor Hale and the others, tied up, and thrown into the main hall.
Their actions had dragged Yuna Bishop down with them.
Moreover, it wasn’t just the clinic NPCs.
Yuna Bishop received notifications that her affinity had dropped with every NPC except for Sylas.
It had to be said, Yuna Bishop was having some seriously rotten luck.
Brimming with resentment, Yuna Bishop frantically stuffed supplies into her Backpack Grids and Noir’s space.
Gauze—check!
Alcohol—grab it!
Oxygen tank—can’t leave this behind!
The backpack on Yuna Bishop’s back was finally more than just for show; it was stuffed with all sorts of miscellaneous items.
Yuna Bishop even grabbed half a bag of flour from the kitchen.
Noir, meanwhile, was screeching and frantically trying to drag away a piece of medical equipment.
It was too heavy, however; he tugged for ages without getting it out of the room and was so anxious he was about to cry.
The silly kid had seen such things when he’d gone to a small clinic with Yuna Bishop and her grandmother, so he just assumed it was useful.
And it wouldn’t fit in his dimensional space.
The High Tier Zombie’s footsteps were just outside, and the players had already stormed the clinic.
Yuna Bishop decisively grabbed Noir and ducked into the basement.
The clinic basement connected to an underground parking garage—it was safer to go this way!
‘And I can avoid those players.’
The NPCs had taken all the weapons from the basement, leaving only an AK rifle in the corner.
Yuna Bishop’s eyes lit up, and she immediately went over and picked it up.
It wasn’t just the rifle; next to it was half a box with over 100 rounds of ammunition.
It didn’t look like it was left behind by accident, but rather intentionally left for her.
Yuna Bishop decisively took them.
She didn’t spare the fire extinguishers or oxygen tanks in the basement, either.
The sounds of cursing, crying, and fighting from above continuously reached Yuna Bishop’s ears.
She even heard the sound of gunfire.
“ROAR—!!”
The zombie was here!
