Facing two Zombie Dogs at once, Yuna Bishop didn’t act rashly, carefully surveying her surroundings instead.

She had to make it a one-hit kill to have any chance of survival.

Just as Yuna Bishop was contemplating her next move, the two Zombie Dogs suddenly let out low, strange hisses before charging at her in unison!Full novel: Apocalypse Survival Game? I Become a Big Shot by Scavenging. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

They were fast, but Yuna Bishop was just as quick.

The Crossbow instantly appeared in Yuna Bishop’s hand.

She drew it fully and fired at the Zombie Dog directly in front of her!

The bolt pierced its torso.

Yuna Bishop took off running, the two Zombie Dogs in hot pursuit.

Their sharp teeth, coated in some unknown virus, felt like they were about to sink into Yuna Bishop’s flesh at any second.

She quickly scaled the construction site’s corrugated iron fence.

The edge of the metal was sharp, and a stinging pain shot through Yuna Bishop’s palm.

Unable to reach Yuna Bishop, the two Zombie Dogs began ramming the iron fence violently, causing it to shake as if it would collapse at any moment.

Yuna Bishop steadied herself on the fence, then leaped onto a crooked, uncut tree at the edge of the site.

However, what Yuna Bishop hadn’t expected was that this tree was already occupied by a “person”!

Yuna Bishop raised her knife to stab the creature, just as it opened its gaping maw to bite her.

But…

“Huh?”

“Woof?”

The person and the dog both froze, staring at each other in bewilderment.

Yuna Bishop looked at the big yellow dog before her.

It looked incredibly familiar.

She tentatively called out a name.

“Noir?”

“WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!”

!!!

Yuna Bishop was stunned as the big yellow dog leaped into her arms, thrashing about wildly.

“Wait, wait, hold on!”

Yuna Bishop hurriedly pushed the big yellow dog away, aiming her Crossbow at the Zombie Dog that was about to climb the tree!

Two bolts later, the Zombie Dogs were both dispatched, dead as doornails, leaving behind only a single vial of Tier 2 Blood.

With the Zombie Dogs dealt with, Yuna Bishop finally had a moment to turn her attention to Noir, the big yellow dog who had inexplicably appeared inside the game.

Noir was the dog she and her grandmother had raised.

He’d been clever ever since he was a puppy.

But Yuna Bishop never imagined that Noir could be smart enough to become a player and enter the game!

“Noir, you…”

Just as Yuna Bishop was about to ask something, she noticed the silly dog in front of her was panting frantically.

It wasn’t normal panting.

She checked Noir’s belly and saw a hideous, gaping wound—a bit of his intestines was even visible.

It was undoubtedly an injury from the two Zombie Dogs.

Yuna Bishop didn’t press for answers.

Instead, she took a bandage from her backpack and wrapped it around and around Noir’s wound.

Only after his wound had healed did Yuna Bishop begin to question Noir.

“Noir, are you a player too?”

“Woof…?”

Noir didn’t understand what a “player” was.

He tilted his head, his eyes fixed intently on Yuna Bishop.

Yuna Bishop thought for a moment and rephrased her question.

“Noir, was it about the money?”

She recalled the situation just before she entered the game.

She had been at home, trying to gather things to sell to scrape together money for medical bills.

Then the game had appeared.

Noir had indeed been there at the time, and she hadn’t hidden her conversation with the system from him.

‘That damn, heartless game system!’

“Woof!”

Upon hearing the keyword “money,” Noir’s tail began to wag furiously.

He didn’t understand anything.

All he knew was that his master needed money.

The game offered money, so he agreed.

He would earn lots and lots of money for his master.

“You silly dog!”

Yuna Bishop pressed her lips together.

‘What was there not to understand?’

‘This game is so unethical!

What could a little dog possibly understand!’

Yuna Bishop had no idea how they were going to handle future instances once this one was over.

‘For now, we can only take it one step at a time.’

She sighed, stroked the dog’s head, and used another roll of Disinfectant Bandage on Noir before leading him down from the tree.

Though it had only been a day, Noir felt much lighter, as if he now weighed just over eighty pounds.

Yuna Bishop picked up the Mutated Blood from the ground.

Now out of immediate danger, Noir took the lead, signaling for Yuna Bishop to follow him.

The two of them soon arrived in front of a sand pile.

Noir dug up a heap of items from within and then looked at Yuna Bishop expectantly.

A novice gift pack, eight vials of Tier 2 Blood, and a pile of bread and mineral water.

He had hidden all the supplies he’d found here.

“Our Noir is so amazing.”

Yuna Bishop crouched down and gently hugged Noir.

Her gaze suddenly fell upon a completely different vial of blood next to the mineral water.

[Tier 5 Activated Mutant Blood]

!!!

‘Tier 5 Blood!’

‘No, wait, where the hell did Noir get this?!’

Yuna Bishop stared at Noir in shock.

Noir just panted with his tongue out, grinning brightly.

He then vividly acted out for Yuna Bishop how he had obtained it. Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.

He had been in the Central District, where two High Tier Zombies were fighting.

He’d stolen it from right beside them and then ran for it.

He ran all the way to this area, where he caught Yuna Bishop’s scent.

Just as he was about to go find Yuna Bishop, he was besieged by Zombie Dogs.

He fought back with all his might, killing many of the Zombie Dogs.

Watching Noir convincingly imitate a Zombie Dog kicking the bucket, Yuna Bishop suddenly felt that maybe the game system wasn’t so damn bad after all.

She sorted through the supplies Noir had hidden.

The novice gift pack yielded a special Backpack Grid.

[Doggy’s Magical Treasure Cave: 1 cubic meter.]

‘So dogs and people get treated differently.’

Yuna Bishop didn’t hesitate to give the space to Noir.

Besides, it wasn’t like she could use it herself.

In addition, there were seven bottles of mineral water, three cream-filled buns (+21 Satiety), and two cans of luncheon meat (+32 Satiety).

The cans of luncheon meat had very distinct teeth marks on them.

After packing up the supplies, Yuna Bishop led Noir on a search around the construction site.

They ended up finding a Nail Gun (+10 Attack Damage), which came with ten nails.

Although the Nail Gun’s Attack Damage was a bit weaker than the Crossbow’s, it was a good fit for Yuna Bishop.

It allowed her to inflict damage on zombies from a close distance; it was ranged, but not too ranged.

Once she had the Nail Gun, Yuna Bishop immediately took Noir and headed back to Sue Carter’s camp.

She needed to exchange that vial of Level 5 Blood for money and supplies as soon as possible.

‘I wonder if Noir has a side quest to collect blood,’ she thought.

Since they were both players, Noir naturally did.

Upon returning to the camp, they found several new players there.

It seemed everyone was managing to find their way here.

Their arrival immediately drew the attention of the other players in the camp—or more specifically, Noir did.

Yuna Bishop quickly went forward and handed the vial of Tier 5 Blood to Sue Carter.

“This is for both of our quests.”

Yuna Bishop’s voice was very low, and the nearby players didn’t overhear.

Sue Carter glanced at Yuna Bishop and the dog, said nothing, and took the Mutated Blood, quickly issuing them a new quest.

The side quest for the woman and her dog was instantly completed up to Tier 5, and Sue Carter’s affinity score shot straight to 21 points!

Yuna Bishop’s completion bonus had now accumulated to 960,000!

‘And that’s not even counting Noir’s…

wait, Noir’s bonus…

How is that going to be paid out?!’
