“It’s all my fault, Miss… Miss Yan…”

“Yan Tingting, Nan Huaixu has already broken off the engagement with you and left Yancheng. How can you still be so arrogant?”

All kinds of chaotic voices, filled with malice, rushed into Yan Tingting’s ears.Full novel: Apocalypse Transmigration: Becoming the Psycho Villain’s Ex-Fiancée — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Yan Tingting, I’ll let you go this time. If you ever appear before me again, I won’t spare you, no matter what it takes…” Amid the jumble of voices, this one was low and hoarse, as if it wanted to claim her life.

“Who… who’s talking…” Yan Tingting on the hospital bed frowned deeply, as if trapped in a nightmare.

Threads of light from outside the window filtered through the white curtains, falling on that porcelain-white, delicate face. Her lips were pale—fragile and pitiful.

The young girl sobbing beside the bed watched that gorgeous face from the corner of her eye, a flicker of jealousy passing through her tear-filled gaze.

Why? Why was Yan Tingting always so lucky? She had everything others could only dream of, yet she didn’t know how to cherish any of it.

But… she, Jiang Xinyue, would take it all for herself. At the thought, when no one else could see, the corners of her mouth curled into a smile of certain victory.

The next moment, the frail girl on the hospital bed suddenly opened her eyes, a pair of clear, bright eyes meeting Jiang Xinyue’s, which still held traces of jealousy.

Jiang Xinyue was startled, her expression freezing on her face. Fortunately, her composure was strong—tears quickly welled up in her eyes, spreading across her face with practiced skill, both beautiful and pitiful. “Miss… Miss Yan, it’s all my fault…”

Why had Yan Tingting suddenly woken up? She’d given her a fright.

“Holy crap!” Yan Tingting cursed elegantly in her mind, her eyes darting around the room’s furnishings, automatically skipping over the people whose gazes were full of accusation.

Soon, a violent pain in her head made it impossible to think any further, and a flood of memories surged into her mind.

Moments later, Yan Tingting groaned, clutching her head, wishing she could pass out all over again.

Now she remembered everything. She was Yan Tingting, the youngest daughter of the Yan family—pampered and spoiled since childhood, arrogant and willful.

By all rights, her life should have been smooth sailing. But she happened to be a supporting female character in an apocalypse novel, dying on the third day after the Apocalypse began, in a gruesome but all-too-common way—devoured by Zombies.

Unfortunately, she died at the female lead’s hands.

Even more unfortunately, just days before falling unconscious, she had just toyed with and thoroughly offended the great villain.

She had transmigrated into the book nearly eighteen years ago. A supporting character was fine, but why did it have to be a supporting character in an apocalypse novel?

And not just any apocalypse novel—a Mary Sue power-fantasy dressed up in apocalypse clothing. The female lead was adored by all, and anyone who crossed her died horribly. Yan Tingting was the one who died the most miserably of all. What a sin!

This world was an apocalypse novel she had read before. Before the Apocalypse, it was ruled by three great families: the Nans, the Jiangs, and the Wens.

After the Apocalypse, it was governed by four major bases. The female lead, Jiang Xinyue, came from an ordinary background, and before the Apocalypse, she was bullied at the elite academy by Yan Tingting, the villainous supporting female.

After the Apocalypse began, Jiang Xinyue obtained a Spatial Dimension and awakened a Supernatural Ability. After eliminating Yan Tingting, the villainous supporting female, she stayed for a while at the base of the villain, Nan Huaixu.

Later, as her power grew, she went to the male lead’s base, where everyone flocked to her. In the end, together with the male lead, she destroyed the villain and the power of the three great families, ruled over the post-Apocalypse world, and went down in history.

Aside from the villainess’s name being a bit jarring, the book was barely readable but tolerable.

She had only picked it up out of boredom to kill time, and had just skimmed the plot. A million-word novel finished in two hours—how much substance could it possibly have?

But she did remember exactly when she died!

At the thought, she suddenly turned to glare at Jiang Xinyue, who was crying in a deliberately affected, phony way beside her. “What’s today’s date?”

Jiang Xinyue’s sobbing paused for an instant, then she wailed with even greater grief, as if her beloved had just died, making Yan Tingting’s skin crawl.

Yan Tingting rubbed her arms. Sure enough, even after recovering her memories, someone she hated was still hateful.

“Yan Tingting, what’s wrong with you? Xinyue didn’t do it on purpose. If you bully her again, I’ll make you pay.” A garishly dressed man looked at Yan Tingting with accusation in his eyes.

Yan Tingting couldn’t be bothered with this brain-atrophied idiot, and looked around instead.

Her gaze landed on the pink phone on the bedside table. She snatched it up, and the screen lit up. “May 28th, Year 3066, 9 a.m.!”

The Apocalypse would break out on May 29th at 8 p.m.—didn’t that mean tomorrow night?

“Hey, Yan Tingting, can you hear us? Why are you playing deaf! You still think Nan Huaixu…” Seeing her attitude, the garishly dressed man grew even angrier.

“If you’re sick, go get treated. You’re not even qualified to talk to me. Get lost!”

The whole group turned livid with anger, while a trace of smug delight flickered in Jiang Xinyue’s eyes.

With that, Yan Tingting yanked the IV needle out of the back of her hand, ignoring the beads of blood welling up, and ran outside.

“Hey! I wasn’t finished talking—where are you going?”

“Patient, you can’t leave the hospital yet…”

The voices behind her grew more and more distant. Yan Tingting paid them no mind. Tomorrow the Apocalypse would arrive, and her death wouldn’t be far behind.

Yan Tingting died on the third day of the Apocalypse—the person Jiang Xinyue had always envied and hated turned to bleached bones just like that… That damned novel had described her death in exactly that tone.

If it’s an apocalypse novel, fine, but why did it only let her recover her memories at this moment?

In the book, she was pushed into the Zombie Tide by Jiang Xinyue. So she’d have to find a way to crush this Jiang Xinyue to death before the Apocalypse arrived. Hire a hitman? That actually sounded pretty good.

“Zzz…” An unbearable burst of static suddenly rang out. Yan Tingting’s head spun, and she abruptly dropped to her knees outside the hospital entrance.

[Host, there are five days left until the time of your death in the book’s plot. We suggest you prepare well!]

“…What… the hell?” Once the dizziness passed, Yan Tingting shook her head and stood up.

[This System is not a ghost. This System is a legitimate System!] The cheerful voice only worsened Yan Tingting’s mood.

“I don’t care if you’re a legitimate System or what—get out of my head!”

[Can’t do that! Only when the time is up can the System leave.]

“What time?”

[Once the Host changes the fate of the world’s collapse, the Host may choose whether to unbind from the System.]

Yan Tingting: “…”

Why should she be the one to change it? Wasn’t she the villainess?

The System seemed to know it wasn’t welcome, and turned invisible the moment it finished speaking.

Her phone buzzed, and Yan Tingting answered it. An irritable voice roared from the other end, “Yan Tingting, I’ve arranged a private plane to pick you up. Come back to Jincheng right now. Do you hear me?”

“Brother…” Yan Tingting was about to say something, but the voice on the phone cut her off.

“No time to explain. We’ve always let you have your way, but this time it’s serious. Don’t be stubborn—come home safe, okay?” Yan Fufeng’s voice softened a little.

“Brother, I’ll listen to you.” Yan Tingting answered obediently.

On the other end, Yan Fufeng seemed to let out a long breath of relief, then added anxiously, “Before the plane picks you up, don’t go anywhere, and don’t stay at school. Go back to that house, understand?”

“Got it!” Yan Tingting felt a warmth in her heart. She hailed a taxi and headed toward her residence.

According to the plot, that plane had failed to pick her up due to some accident, which meant that when the apocalypse arrived, Yan Tingting happened to run right into Jiang Xinyue and her group, who had come to her home to apologize for the third time.

There was no food in Yan Tingting’s house, so the group went out to search for supplies—and ran into the Zombie Tide. Unfortunately, she was the unlucky one who got pushed out as a sacrifice.

“Why are you so obedient today?” The voice paused, sounding puzzled. “Did someone bully you?”

Yan Tingting touched the wound on the back of her head. Bullied? She certainly had been. But she, Yan Tingting, was no pushover.

Jiang Xinyue, you’re dead.
