Chapter 6: The End of the Yun Zia Family of Kazar (Part 1) The bustling streets of the Yun Zia Empire suddenly fell into an eerie silence.
Standing in the middle of the road, KING and Shadow faced a man dressed in spotless white robes.
The fabric swayed gently with the wind, and although his expression remained calm, an overwhelming pressure surrounded him.
The three stood motionless, staring at one another.
Not a single word was spoken.
Not a single movement was made.
The atmosphere itself seemed to freeze.
After a long silence, Shadow finally spoke in his usual calm voice.
“I didn’t expect the Yun Zia Empire to discover that we entered the city with a false permit so quickly.” The man in white smiled faintly.
“You don’t always get what you expect.” His eyes remained fixed on the twins as he continued.
“You trespassed into our empire illegally.
Under normal circumstances, you would both be executed immediately.” He paused for a brief moment.
“However…
you two are rather special.” “Our Emperor wishes to meet you personally.” “You will come with me.” His voice suddenly turned cold.
“If either of you even thinks about resisting…” “…you will die.” Silence returned.
Neither KING nor Shadow showed the slightest hint of fear.
Instead, KING calmly turned his head toward his brother.
“Shadow.” “Should we kill him…” “…or listen to him?” Shadow quietly observed the man for another moment before replying.
“I believe our best course of action is to cooperate for now.” KING gave a small nod.
“Fine.” Shadow looked back at the man in white.
“Alright.” “We’ll go with you.” The man’s expression remained unchanged.
“Good.” As the conversation ended, whispers immediately spread throughout the crowded street.
People who had gathered nearby couldn’t hide their shock.
“Isn’t that…” “The Empire’s strongest guardian?” “Yeah…
that’s Koto!” “I’ve heard even the generals respect him.” “What could those masked strangers have done to attract his attention?” KING glanced sideways at the murmuring crowd before looking toward the man in white.
“So…” “His name is Koto?” He tilted his head slightly.
“That’s an awful name.” Shadow nodded without hesitation.
“Yeah.” Several citizens nearly choked after hearing those words.
No one had ever dared insult Koto to his face.
Yet the white-robed guardian simply ignored the comment.
He had no intention of wasting words.
He turned around.
“Follow me.” Without another word, Koto shot into the sky like a white comet.
KING and Shadow calmly followed.
The three figures soared high above the imperial capital.
From above, the magnificent city stretched endlessly in every direction.
Massive stone walls surrounded the capital.
Countless buildings stood proudly beneath them.
Bustling marketplaces, elegant temples, rivers, gardens, and towering watchtowers painted a picture worthy of the empire’s reputation.
In the very center stood the Imperial Palace.
It towered over everything else like a symbol of absolute authority.
Golden rooftops reflected the sunlight, making the palace appear almost divine.
Within moments, the three landed before the enormous palace gates.
Rows upon rows of heavily armored guards immediately tightened their formation.
Every pair of eyes focused on the two masked strangers.
Some tightened their grip on their weapons.
Others looked nervous.
The moment they recognized Koto, however, every guard instantly bowed.
“Greetings, Lord Koto!” Koto acknowledged them with a slight nod before walking toward the palace entrance.
KING and Shadow ignored every stare directed at them.
Neither fear nor curiosity could be seen in their eyes.
To them…
This empire meant nothing.
The palace doors slowly opened.
Inside, luxurious decorations filled every corner.
The marble floor reflected the golden pillars standing proudly on each side of the grand hall.
Expensive paintings, priceless treasures, and glittering jewels decorated the walls.
At the far end of the throne room sat the ruler of the Yun Zia Empire.
Emperor Yun Shen.
He was an overweight man whose face radiated arrogance.
His luxurious robes barely fit around his body.
One beautiful young woman gently placed grapes into his mouth while another stood beside him, slowly waving an enormous feather fan to keep him cool.
He looked less like a ruler…
…and more like a man completely consumed by greed and luxury.
Koto stepped forward before respectfully lowering his head.
“Greetings, Your Majesty.” The Emperor lazily nodded before shifting his gaze toward the masked twins.
Koto then looked back at KING and Shadow.
“What are you doing?” “Bow before His Majesty.” “Get on your knees.” Neither of them moved.
Neither of them answered.
They simply stood there.
Completely ignoring him.
A vein appeared on Koto’s forehead.
His patience was beginning to disappear.
He took one step forward, ready to force them onto their knees.
Before he could move any further…
A lazy voice echoed throughout the throne room.
“Enough.” Koto immediately stopped.
Emperor Yun Shen waved his hand dismissively.
“Don’t be rude to our guests.” A smug smile slowly spread across his face as he leaned forward on his throne.
His sharp eyes examined the twins from head to toe.
“You two…” “Who are you?” “You clearly aren’t citizens of my empire.” “Where did you come from?” “And why are you hiding your faces behind those masks?” He narrowed his eyes.
“Are you perhaps spies sent by another empire?” The throne room fell silent.
KING and Shadow remained completely still.
Neither answered.
Neither even acknowledged the Emperor’s questions.
The only thing that could be felt…
…was the slowly rising pressure filling the room.
